Rumor Is Dreamfinder, the roving M&G, coming back to Epcot soon?

Thinking on this...there's the D23 event in Tokyo coming up right? I know that most announcements there are going to be mainly for Tokyo and the other parks close by but could they announce this there? There has to be some minor stuff for the American parks being brought up there, right? This would be a pleasing announcement. But then again, the Asian audience probably has no idea who these characters are. Buuuuuttttt, they'd probably love an adorable dragon right?
I heard Figment is well liked by Japanese guests.

That would be very very exciting. If they do it, perhaps it'll be like the Star-lord/Baby Groot meet-n-greet, with Dreamfinder a face character and Figment being an animatronic that says a few phrases and has a few movements. Disney does seem to be fond of "upgraded" M-n-G things.

I'd still put the likilihood as quite low, though.
It depends on how it's executed. But if not, it still won't hold a candle to interations like this.

At least the next generation got a brief encounter of Dreamfinder and Figment together back in D23 2013

Well, the Imag building is still visible from that D23 Artist rendering. So we know likely they are not tearing down that building. On another note, I feel music in the parks, especially Epcot Future World has lost something. Music used to be a lot more "tuneful." Now you listen to music and forget about it. Test Track queue music for example, or SSE. Its not something I remember after I leave.

if they went for the original figment full of wonder then id be in for it. The current version just makes me want the old one back more.

I always wanted to see Dreamfinder return to form. 'Though if he brings Figment along I would of course expect some refined puppetry. We've progressed a good bit from the days of hand puppets. Killer routine in the videos but the tech is available to allow for more animation, controled by the performer or "off-stage". I would fully expect a routine between the performer and Figment. The biggest take away from this rumor is IMO the word "roving". I miss the roving characters and popup meet-n-greets. Need more or those!

I do look forward to seeing this if it happens!

Anybody remember this at D23 2013?

I think all of us Figment fans can't forget it and 2011(?) before that.

I still say, the puppet is still great. Knowing there is human interaction and not a set of predefined lines or motions makes it more special. I can only imagine if the puppet returned along with some enhancements. It was effective back then, it's effective now, but with more "umph" it'd go over the top. The M&G's with BB8 and Groot don't do anything to draw me in. It's a AA on a pedestal. Yay. And? The things they could do with Figment as a puppet with some AA enhancements that is held in someones arm? That'd be incredible to see in action. Especially if it was a walking M&G like the old days.

Have you heard anything about this rumor @marni1971?

Now that I think about it, Dreamfinder and Figment might be one of the last remaining Disney characters that were allowed as late as 1994/1995. Speaking of Figment, does anyone know any info behind this video? I wonder if @marni1971 might know more about this. Since it featured the Figment puppet actually talking by an unseen person. The video is titled "4 Figment's Screen Test".
