Rumor Inside Out to Replace Journey into Imagination with Figment?

Based on some of Marni’s comments and past history, I’d say all of the original FW pavilions are gone the way of the dodo at some point. WOM, Horizons, Energy are gone. Imagination will languish to the point they raze it and start over. WOL isn’t coming back in old form, either. I fear The Land and The (former) Living Seas will follow suit with maybe SSE being the lone holdout simply because it’s the park icon, although GMR would beg to differ. FW is gone and it’s not coming back. Makes me sad, but life goes on.
The Imagination pavilion look has gone past dated and back around to retro IMO. It's like pulling out basketball jerseys from the 90's that people are paying to get replicas now

Unless the building *has* to be demolished, I'd prefer they keep it and not spend the money starting over (I can sort of understand Innoventions E/W, but even then ... it's simply they don't want to reuse the space, IMHO). But who knows the state of the inside?

The theater, at least, feels like it's on borrowed time. Why not revamp Muppet*Vision to fit Epcot? (Muppet Labs makes more sense there now instead of the Studios, JMO)

Exactly. To me, shoving a bunch of IP (that they could do much better with, mind you) including Inside Out into the Play Pavilion to me makes it less likely they replace Figment with Inside Out. JMO. They know Figment sells merchandise and they know he's popular. If they choose to not use him and Dreamfinder they're pretty dumb. I think it's a good thing, personally, that they keep putting off touching Imagination. Who knows what could have happened?

The fact remains, Inside Out *wasnt* about imagination. It was about EMOTIONS. It would be a poor fit, but I understand they don't care about that ... I mean, they have two showbuildings attached to the Play Pavilion that they aren't/can't use at the moment. If anything that opens it up to them adding something slightly more substantial there. Is there room to expand them a bit if necessary? I mean ... hello, Cranium Command ... Pete Docter ... I never understood why folks clung to the idea it should replace Imagination. None of it is about imagination (to the degree I'm thinking about it all). Joy and Sadness aren't Riley's imaginary friends ... Very disappointing they aren't fully utilizing all of the Life pavilion. They couldn't revamp Cranium Command into Inside Out? COME ON. Even casuals think that should happen! (I mean ... it's like they deliberately avoid things that you know, make sense ...). But hey, there's going to be an interactive game with Nick and Judy! I mean ... zzzzz

But I still won't sit easy until something's confirmed and we're probably not even close to anything being greenlit at the moment. They'd be silly to give up Figment. It's pretty much a fact that he sells merchandise. If anything is 'fan service' Figment should be it.
The funniest thing about Inside Out and the Imagination pavilion is how it's one extremely stretched tie to imagination (Bing Bong), is dead.

But! He's shooting candy out of his eyes over on Pixar Pier! LIES! He's alive!

LOL ;)

But yeah ... it's a definite stretch (though I can see how most would think it'd be the "perfect fit" when you include Bing Bong). But like Frozen in Norway, most won't care and will probably think it's an amazing replacement that "fits" Epcot (instead of respecting a ride's place in the park, like GMR or Figment, folks find them "boring and dated" instead of realizing they should be REFURBING them, not replacing them). I'm fine with Inside Out, but it's been begging to take over for Cranium Command, IMHO, but yet ... nope. Sad how this IP has been relegated to a spinner on a poorly themed pier. At least we aren't getting a copy ;)

True. Yet, The Land is a pretty strong pavilion that will have three IP-less components supporting its' larger theme. Even if Awesome Planet contains some character intrusion, it will still be a welcome addition to the park and fit very well. (I assume).

Still shocked they didn't shove Bugs into The Land. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised The Land will remain IP free, at least mostly (Until it's officially announced I'll remain skeptical of lack of IP but at least something will be ...). But I can see why it's left mostly untouched. Soarin' stands on its own. Living with the Land probably isn't at the rockbottom of guest satisfaction and both restaurants aren't hurting for guests eating at them ... the movie was a nice surprise. So ... yay for The Land! lol (I do miss how it used to look; it's pretty bland now IMHO)

Our kids LOVE Living with the Land. So we did at least one thing right. :)

If you really want to know the reason why Imagination and the fate of Figment is in constant chaos and why it even ended up in the place it did in ‘99 to begin with. Let me just present this news article for you folks to read. Aswell as this wonderful website article by Epcotlegacy. Enjoy.. Btw, pay close attention to the names mentioned and the responses they give in the news article. :

Btw, just wanted to point out... anyone notice how eerily similar the signage is for both of these attractions aswell as their plot/storyline... just with the roles switched. Pretty certain the very same team worked on both attractions (hence why it’s cited as an example in the news article), aswell as Your Imagination & Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.

So I'm in Orlando on business and am at Epcot right now. Went on Imagination for the first time in I don't know how long. The ride is as bad as I remember it - but there were multiple young families whose kids were really excited about Figment. IMO, Disney would be stupid not to capitalize on that.

Also, kudos to @marni1971 and his tribute videos. First time I've ridden since watching those videos, now with an appreciation of the ride system, what once was, and what could have been.

Hello I want ask us about purple dragon Figment. Why he appears only on America just a living an Europe and don’t hear about him. I’m very love Disney movies and toys but when I search in internet I find him and ask my friend who’s it that and they answer who is that. Why? Many peoples in other world don’t hear about him.And yess fix the smell lab. Disgusting moment in this ride. Why figment beat a skunk on slot machine and later burps on all audience. Can make a new random slot machine. We drives up on slot machine and late figment talks „in world many smells disgusting and pleasant and later he pulls a lever arm. There need more random a strawberry smell or something. And figment looks like a sonic the hedgehog
Check out the original version of the attraction from Martin's latest tribute videos to get a proper introduction to Figment (And Dreamfinder). Also Figment doesn't look anything like Sonic The Hedgehog at all!

Maybe Figment will be more popular if Disney fixes the ride. Right now he is not popular. He is not well known Internationally. I think Disney needs to make a cartoon television series or movie so more people can see and enjoy the characters of Figment and Dreamfinder. Then maybe he will be more well known and popular.

The ride is not good. And the skunk smell is supposed to be funny. But it is not.
At least we have the Marvel Figment comics.

Just give Figment the 3d show and a meet and greet, maybe that would appease the fans. Unlike Michael Jackson he hasn't done anything in the past (that we know of). So it would be alright if he took up residence there.
They actually tried making a stand along meet and greet with Figment and most of the interactions were very awkward compared to guests meeting Dreamfinder and Figment together.
