If you were a "squatter" at WDW...

...where would you live?

My husband and I have talked about how awesome it would be to live at WDW (and wondered aloud if anyone's ever actually tried it!) Obviously we would never try to "squat" at WDW because not only would we would inevitably be caught and banished for life, but we wouldn't be able to work, and therefore wouldn't have an income and would have to resort to Aladdin-style thievery for food, clothes, etc.

Anyway, all practicality and real world issues aside, if you could "live" anywhere in the WDW parks, where would you pick? No resorts allowed. I know most people will pick obviously place like Cinderella's Castle and the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House, but I thought it would be worth asking in case anyone came up with something really cool that I don't even know about.

My husband and I decided we would live "Hatchet" style on Tom Sawyer Island. The barrel bridge would never get old, and there's all kinds of nooks and crannies you could sleep in.

I would live in the carousel of progress, it works nicely because if I ever got bored of scene, all I have to do is switch. I would probably work my way through the years.

Well i know it's not exactly the most elaborate or creative, but Mickey's house for me (Although, from the sounds of the new hot Fantasyland plans that are circulating, that'll be demolished :lookaroun). Anyways, you got a nice big full garage, close proximity to the castle

Not to mention a garden full of Mickey-shaped veggies ripe for the choosing

I'd guess I'd be rooming with zachrupertdsn in the Carousel of Progress--that would far and away be my first choice, anyway. But if we couldn't make it as roomies, I'd want to live in the 50s Prime-Time Cafe. It reminds me of my childhood (I was born in 1957), and all the kitschy little touches give me the warm fuzzies. Plus I love the home-cooked food. :slurp:

Some places I would "squat" for awhile in no order:

Obvious places to stay...

Cinderella Castle - That castle suite is still there...
Tower of Terror - The ghosts don't freak me out!
Haunted Mansion - Ditto here as well
Carousel of Progress - At least there's plumbing & food!

Something new...

Imagination Upstairs - Just because! :D
Canada, USA Pavilion - Hotel d' Canada? :animwink: And the Illumination Views are perfect!
Main Street USA - Just in case I'm kicked out the Castle. :lookaroun
Seasons Inn - Right by Everest!

I would choose to squat in the World Showcase-either the second stories of buildings in France or Canada. They both offer a great view as well:animwink:

This is a funny but very thought provoking question.

If I wanted to do the camping thing, I too would "squat" on Tom Sawyer Island, or maybe even by the small area where you can see the Indians from the Mark Twain River boat. Or maybe even somewhere in the vast woods along the roads of the Disney World area. I often think when on the buses or the Monorail, man there is a lot of land out here you could just hide out. Then slip into the park and then head back to sleep.

If I wanted to avoid the camping I too would pick somewhere on Main Street or Pirates or Haunted Mansion or the Canada Pavilion. There are so many places you could find to sleep.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
One of the upstairs offices on Mainstreet!
I'd love to just do some people-watching, and that place is about as "Disney" as you can get!
And, yes, in my fantasy those windows are to offices... or in this case my room.
