Don't feel bad. About a year ago I threw mine away about 10 seconds before I also dumped a nearly full 32 oz drink in the trash can on top of it.:brick:I just washed my cell phone...with it on!
Needlessly to say ...it's quite dead now.

Hey Doug, would it have made a difference if it was off?
Actually aside form its corrosive qualities 100% pure water is not conductive and is fairly benign when it comes to electronics. It is the minerals found in nearly every drop of water on the planet that fry electronics.Possibly...as water and electronics are not friends.
Since it was on, the water did immediate damage to the electronics. Had it of been cut off, I could have left it to dry out before powering it back on. There still would be the potential for rust damage (eventually) since it's a closed system, but this was the kiss of death!
Problem solved though...found an abandoned cell phone at work, switched SIM cards...PRESTO... new phone - same number!![]()
