how long, is long enough?

For me it all depends on what else is going on in my life. At one point once a year was the absolute max but recently every six months seems to be doing me wonders....:D

It all depends on the person. There is no one perfect length. Some people claim that they want it to be as long as possible but when try it they realize that it was too long. Others will want it as short as possible. I guess I am lucky in that my wife wants it short. You have to find out what will fit your needs and wants.
I guess I'm satisfied with average...

Too short, and you're left wanting more. Too long and you get irritated.

The truth is, there's always something that you haven't done. In all my trips, there's still so many restaurants I haven't tried and so many resorts I haven't seen. I've never even been to a water park yet.

You can pick different times of year to go, which will make things different. For example, going at Christmas or Halloween time provides a different experience with all the decorations & special events.

I say there is no set time, but once a year works great for me.

I agree, that once a year is a good timeline. We went 3 times last year, living so close, and to be honest, by the time we hit Disneyland, it was like all sort of blah at times. Of course then you are comparing the two as well. But I will say that 3 times in a year was our ultimate most we would go, otherwise we did feel like the magic was starting to get stale. And who wants that to happen at the most wonderful place on earth??

I would say 16 is painfully too long! :o

I agree. That's how long it had been since I last visited a Disney park prior to 2008. I grew up going to DL since I was born and raised in SoCal. Then we went to WDW and then again last year. We're going back this September but we won't go back until after the FLE is done. I'd rather not spend my money to see fancy refurb walls, and instead I'll be taking my wife and kids to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary next September (2011).

After the refurb is done we'll continue to go yearly, unless I talk the wife into joining the DVC.

we go to disney world every 2 years we stay for 3 weeks and live and breath disney we neaver have a car and neaver leave the disney area it is fantastic!!! our next trip starts 27th of april cant wait.
so we have been home for just over a month.. and yet the discussion of WDW hasn't stopped.. we should do this next time, we shouldn't do that.. or how could we have cut costs even more.. and the most we can come up with is about $250 at most..

but my question is this, HOW LONG, is LONG ENOUGH? before you come back? a year? two years?

I guess that I believe that if you come back too soon, you lose the magic.. its not as special.. or you have "already seen this or that"...

so while there is a longing already in my heart to go back..

how long, really, is long enough?

I've been to WDW twice in a year and would really love to do that but my work schedule just doesn't allow it. I have to be satisfied with once a year.

We have always gone once a year. (But we also do other things during the year like go to the beach for a week and two weeks to Memphis in the summer.) Our next trip to the world will be in January and we have booked 10 days (normally we do 8). We have talked about going in the fall one year so we can go to the Halloween party. By going once a year we feel we are finding new things to do and see, and it gives us a year to plan how we want to spend our days.

I have been trying to go once a year for the past few years (as you can see in my sig). A lot of it, up until a few years ago, depended on how much Mom and Dad were willing to fork over to send/take my younger siblings and me :ROFLOL: But since I've been paying for my own trips, I think I'll be able to make it down at least once a year. I'm so jealous of the people who can go multiple times in a year! Lucky ducks :)

What on Earth gets you to come here to Memphis for 2 weeks? I hate it here.

We usually wait until they have added either new rides or updated existing ones so we can always have something "new" to look forward to. In my experience this comes out to about every 1 1/12 to 2 years.

It doesn't matter how long it is, just how much fun you have with it!

(That's what I like to believe anyway.)
