It's funny because they haven't got a snowballs chance in heck against one of the greatest teams ever assembled.

One of the greatest teams ever assembled still needs to figure out how to win on the road if they don't want a Game 7. :p

I certainly wouldn't count the Pens out. True they got whipped in the last game, but they beat themselves rather than being totally outplayed. That being said we beat the heck out of Detroit in the previous game and Detroit did NOT beat themselves in that game, we just outplayed them. And yes, a champion doesn;t beat themselves but Detroit isn't on a different level from the Pens. Remember that the Pens are young and inexperienced. If we keep our team together for years they'll be regarded as one of the finest teams ever.
We have Crosby and Malkin - the 2 best players in the league, hands down!

One of the finest teams ever? They have 2 of the top 3 players in the league (Ovechkin then Malkin then Crosby) and they still cant win. Detroit is one of the greatest hockey teams to ever step on the ice and will be for a long time with their talent.

as you can see from my location im not a detroit fan, but i respect a great franchise. But wait until Game 7 because i bet Pitt doesnt want to see another team hoist the cup on their ice.... again.

Correction...we have Malkin playing with 3rd and 4th line players...If anyone sees Crosby please tell him the finals started last week.

It doesnt really matter superstars or not. Detroit is a better overall team. They have so much depth. I honest to god have no idea how we are still alive in this thing...

Wow, major thread drift here. I suppose I'll chime in.

And if anyone sees Crosby tell him, "one helluva job in the finals, buddy, you do have arguably the greatest defensive center of the last 10 years on top of you every shift. Way to take one for the team, so Malkin can go grab the glory playing against third liners most of the series."

Wow.

Do you know who Malkin plays with? Fedotenko and Talbot. a 3rd and 4th liner. Sid plays with guys whom he wanted at the deadline. Believe that. When your the best player in the world 1 guy shouldntbe able to shut you down. I guess Zetterberg made side miss all the empty nets, not score on partial breakaways too?

Malkin is the real deal here dude. He is probably the best player in the NHL today. Detroit dont have 3rd and 4th line players either. Their second line is more powerful than our first line. Their second powerplay is better than our first.

That was a tight game, a great game actually. I didn't agree with the officiating at all but the Pens definitely earned that one.

First of all Ovechkin is not the best player in the league. He is a cherry picker and a showboating goon. And I don't recall him being the points leader in the NHL - that is Malkin. Secondly Crosby was injured some this year or would have won the scoring race. Third, had the Pens not given up on Therien and played better this year overall, they would have dominated the entire NHL. Fourth, Detroit is not going to have a great team for years to come, they are old, the Pens are not, and that was my point exactly. The Pens glory years are still to come while Detroit is fading. Fifth, Crosby is being double teamed by more than Zetterberg - he's got their best players all over him. Also Detroit's powerplay is NOT better than ours, even their coach says it is their weakness. Our PP was not too good to start the playoffs but we have been converting the last 15 games. I wouldn't ask "How are the Pens still in this thing?" They are in it because they obviously deserve to be. If Detroit were the juggernaut everyone likes to claim they would have won already - they did not, as of yet. Honestly if this series went 100 games, it could be 50-50.
At this point in time no matter who wins the cup I would say the Pens and Detroit are equals with one team happening to pull out that extra win.

If it weren't for Scott Walker getting one of the luckiest goals I've ever seen, the finals would be over already and the B's would be holding the cup up. No one is going to touch the bruins next year! NO ONE!
