Has your resort reservation been changed yet? To what resort?

After more than 3 hours on hold, I was off the phone in less than 10 minutes. We were moved from Coronado to a one bedroom villa at Riviera Resort. Resort and parks now confirmed. Just waiting on dining now.

While I was on hold, I got the email from Disney to confirm our upcoming stay. I was told by the CM that the call I made confirms we will be staying so I do not need to respond to the email.
That's great news!, you got everything sorted out and also a very nice upgrade. 😀

Great upgrade! I called yesterday, but still confirmed via email. Let the countdown begin!

Called again today but was told as we are coming from the UK we still can’t be moved from coronardo yet. I’m worried all the good hotels will be taken and we will get a bad deal.

We’re in the same boat as you- had a stay booked at Coronado from the 23rd Sept, and we’re flying from the UK. I contacted our travel agents who explained that we can’t do anything *yet*. I’m wondering about the likelihood that we’ll actually be able to fly over by that point.

Lovely to read about everyone’s experiences, though! Sounds like people have been pleasantly surprised with their switches.

We are booked for 21st sept. Fingers crossed for a deluxe upgrade. Don’t want to be moved to CBR. That was also cheaper when we booked. So if we do I expect a partial refund for that.

Since we are now moved to a villa room at Riviera, what amenities are in the room (TP, dish soap, paper towels, coffee, etc) so we know what to bring ourselves/order from Amazon or Garden Grocer? Thanks in advance

We were booked at Coronado (Gran Destino Tower) and moved to CBR. Since rack rates are the cost basis for whatever resort you are moved to, we didn’t receive any refund...rack rate CBR was actually $12/night more than our discounted rate at
Coronado. Though we don’t have to pay the difference, I wasn’t happy to be moved to CBR after reading about deluxe upgrades other Coronado guests have received.

The CM called it “lateral accommodations.” 🙄
Ewww.. i dont like that word... The way my guy sounded is I could of had anything. He asked me if i had an area in mind. I really didnt as we have always stayed at Values. We can afford higher, just never took the leap. All i happened to say its my Niece and nephews first time, we got in a conversation, i touched on her love of animals etc, and next thing i knew my jaw was on the floor.

It saddens me that the experience isnt the same for all.,You would think they would be the same no matter the CM.

Very surprising. So disappointing.
She was very nice and we had a pleasant conversation. She put me on hold for quite a while when I balked at CBR and came back on apologizing that all she could do was the “lateral accommodations.”

Not sure if we will actually go on this August trip anyway. The resort(s) modifications aren’t helping to sway us. :cautious:

I was feeling down about some stuff on this trip, but the change in resorts really made up for it. Sorry you didn't get the same :(

Ok everybody. We need a new @Tuvalu trip report. Get on those phones and ask what they can do for her! The poor CM didn’t know she was talking to a celebrity...
Seriously, though, sorry you didn’t get something better. Riviera is not bad but the parking lot view is pretty ick.

Well, I have a DVC reservation at Jambo for July 10-15 and the owner was kind enough to contact member services. They couldn't even tell her if we were getting moved Kidani for sure. The only guarantee they provided was that we will have a room somewhere if Jambo does not open up and they will contact me or her beforehand if they decide to move us. I guess it is a good decision that I am not taking Magical Express. o_O
