Actually, it's The Daughter's birthday, but since she wasn't the one who went through 24 hours of labor, why should she get all of the cake and gifts?

She isn't the one who had to be on a strict diet for 3 months, with nary a drop of alcohol to ease the discomfort of painful roids!

She wasn't loaded down with monitors and electrical leads coming out the whazoo...literally! She wasn't ubjected to personal indignities beyond imagining (well, except for that one butt slap, a little suctioning, and a heel prick), and poked and prodded with needles and tubes at the most inappropriate moments!

She didn't go from 0-10 centimeters in less than 3 hours!!! With a nasty doctor threatening surgery if she didn't push it out by 5PM...so HE could go home!!! All of this, with only one shot of narcotic...NO epidural...and being told, after begging for something for pain, you can't have anything else, it's too late..the baby's coming now, so just suck it up and stop complaining!!

I'm not even going to mention the actual delivery...but all you moms know how dignified THAT is! Need I say...doughnut?

Was it worth it? Absolutely! Would I do it again...yes, I did. Tomorrow I'll tell you about my DIFFICULT pregnancy.

:D ;)

.....welll...."happy" birthday then, Mom!

At least the events of youyr daughters arrival didn't leave any kind of lasting impression on you!

I just bet you throw that back at her if she ever gives you a hard time!!!

A very, very, happy "birthday" to you, Mom!

After our first one, I changed as many diapers as I possibly could. Friends and family would comment about what a considerate husband I was, but I told them that after seeing what my wife went through giving birth, the LEAST I could do was put up with a little baby potty!

And, while on the subject, it never ceases to amaze me...after all the discomfort, pain, agony, and mess a woman goes through to have a baby, she's able to say within 6 months to a year, "That wasn't so bad. Maybe I'll have another."

GO MOM

P.S. its my opinion but i know women are alot tougher than men .... if men had to go through childbirth there would be no human species
