Actually, it's The Daughter's birthday, but since she wasn't the one who went through 24 hours of labor, why should she get all of the cake and gifts? 
She isn't the one who had to be on a strict diet for 3 months, with nary a drop of alcohol to ease the discomfort of painful roids!
She wasn't loaded down with monitors and electrical leads coming out the whazoo...literally! She wasn't ubjected to personal indignities beyond imagining (well, except for that one butt slap, a little suctioning, and a heel prick), and poked and prodded with needles and tubes at the most inappropriate moments!
She didn't go from 0-10 centimeters in less than 3 hours!!! With a nasty doctor threatening surgery if she didn't push it out by 5PM...so HE could go home!!! All of this, with only one shot of narcotic...NO epidural...and being told, after begging for something for pain, you can't have anything else, it's too late..the baby's coming now, so just suck it up and stop complaining!!
I'm not even going to mention the actual delivery...but all you moms know how dignified THAT is! Need I say...doughnut?
Was it worth it? Absolutely! Would I do it again...yes, I did. Tomorrow I'll tell you about my DIFFICULT pregnancy.
