Hall of Presidents

Do you think they'll be able to get George Washington to voice his own speech?

I've seen him in lots of old movies during film days in school, so I know he has acting experience. And did you ever see 1776? He can sing real good, too. :lookaroun

AGREED! (well, after My Fair Lady)

John Adams can sing though, and so can Jefferson.

And to replace that boring role call, why not add a version of the president's song from Animaniacs?

I'm obnoxious and disliked!:D:sohappy:

I'll ask this again because this question got deleted :\

Soft opening before July do you think?
I wouldn't count on it. Lately refurbishments have been ending right on time. However, they might start some soft openings in very, very late June to get operational kinks worked out before July 4.

Due to recent events, I'm willing to bet Obama's AA doesn't work correctly during the first few weeks of operation.

(In no way is this a political statement)

And I have never had problems in HoP...People clap and cheer when the president is announced but never anything negative.(Even in 2001 after the whole Gore/Bush debacle)

I have had just the opposite for the last three years. Lots of booing and snarls when the current president is speaking. Which was followed with giggling in response.

Dude, do you even read your own posts. The "Stale" thread has multiple little bashings of the current POTUS. Did you think no one would notice?

Dude, I never read what I post.

I leave that to others.

It cuts the amount of time spent posting considerably.

And I would never engage in 'little bashings' ... if I were going to bash, I'd bash fully and proudly.:goodnevil (I admit I hate smilies, but that one is kidna kewl)

I've only seen movie too on DVD, but sadly not the laserdisc cut (but you can see clips from it on youtube)

Hooray for the 1776 love! One thing all my friends must do if they wish to continue being my friend is see this movie.

Washington was not in it though...Only the members of the congress.

EDIT:
OK..Why can't I embed?:fork:

At the risk of being controversial, the only musical I dislike more than 1776 was Oliver! I did costumes for both at a summer stock theatre years ago, and sitting through the rehearsals and performances was absolute torture. They're Playing Our Song was also pretty dismal. Now Ragtime - that's the best musical ever. Oh yeah, and back on track - looking forward to HOP rehab. Will I still be able to get a good nap?

Never seen any of those!:(

But I don't think nap time is safe.;)

I always thought one of the coolest things about the Hall of Presidents was listening to the current president's speech, whether you agree with his policies or not. Its a really cool tradition for Disney to maintain, and to not continue it might lessen the popularity of the attraction to those that actually go there (I like it, but I can't imagine it being one of the more popular attractions at the MK right now).
