I'm thinking you are wrong. There are definate quotes saying Epcot wasn't about rollercoasters.

Walter Elias Disney operated under the belief that EPCOT center would be a fully functional utopia-like city. The Florida property was so big because of that, with the plan to fill it all with the city of tomorrow. Never in his lifetime was EPCOT as a theme park the prevaling idea. Sure, you're probably right in saying that there are quotes where he talks about EPCOT center not being about roller coasters, but this was his city, not the permanent world's fair that WED/WDI designed after his passing. He can't have commented on a project that didn't start until well after his death.
Two distinctions;

E.P.C.O.T. was Walt’s City

EPCOT Center was not Walt’s city. That name evolved around 1974-5.

I prefer the way Hugh Jackman put it in Casino Royale...

I've never heard any quote of the sort and a quick Google search produces nothing. When Walt was alive, EPCOT was meant to be a city, so it seems unlikely that roller coasters would have ever been brought up. There was an amusement park in the Progress City model, but that's about the extent of it.

Walt was (sadly) dead long before EPCOT Center (the theme park) was a concept.

Man, I really seem to be in the minority on this one-but I found the Transformers ride to be hilariously awful. (Like-I was actually laughing at it.) Nothing but screens as far as the eye can see, and an unrelenting barrage of noise being thrown at you at all times, much like the source material. And it's all packed into one of the lowest-effort queues I've ever been through-switchbacks and concrete. The screens weren't even integrated well into the sets for my liking, and never once was my brain like "Yes, I'm in a real place right now. I hope Hugo Weaving saves the day."

I even read reviews of the ride online, and was shocked that people loved it, and were only too happy to wait in long opening-day lines multiple times.

For me, Transformers is the Spider-Man ride, done worse, and painted a slightly different shade of blue.

Again, I realize this is an unpopular opinion. I'm not bashing you, or anyone that enjoys this attraction. It's just not for me, or anyone I rode with for that matter.
Transformers was the first ride I ever rode at Universal.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Literally, the first ride for my Universal/IOA day... was Transformers. It was 9:30 AM, and it had a ‘5 minute’ wait. We never waited. We just walked through the empty queue and got on the ride (and as someone who has never seen a Transformers film, it didn’t make me want to watch one). I didn’t hate it, a part of me did enjoy it, but it didn’t have that classic feel that a lot of Disney rides have for me.

It cheapened Spidey that afternoon, since the ride layout is the same, and Spidey is the better ride :(

The layout is not the same as Tranformers takes place over two floors. It was supposed to be Spider-Man for the parks that didn’t have Spider-Man but then they decided to give it to Florida as well.

Agreed. By far one of the worst attractions I’ve ever been on.

I honestly really like the transformers ride.

Though I do think the spider man ride is pretty much a better version of the transformers ride. Alright felt that way.
