And, more significantly, they destroyed the PeopleMover structure and guests still get to see the carcass of PeopleMover in the park to this day. At least Frozen won't cause permanent, irreparable damage.

Sure, this may be misguided on my part, but I still hold on to the belief that, one day, a champion will emerge for EPCOT that provides the park with the same thematic cohesion and wonder that Joe Rohde has provided for Animal Kingdom.

As you have already noted, the additions to Norway could easily be rethemed.

GotG came out in 2014.

I doubt anyone other than Bob (and maybe Willow) knows how he thinks. I can surmise that he likes IPs that he purchased to go into the parks if anything is going into the parks. See also: PIXAR, Muppets, the last-minute updates he demanded for World of Color. What's the best predictor of future behavior?

As a University professor of Psychology, one of the first things I teach in my introductory-level courses is that behavior predicts behavior.

While I'm not really for this and being a 70's/80's kid I also have fond memories of the other EPCOT, I do believe this is happening and have heard through so many channels that it's almost bothersome. Why? To me, it would seem this is Disneys way of controlling the narrative. Even friends of mine on FB that are nowhere near the level of fan dweeb like myself are posting and sharing various articles circling the web. This screams distracter to get folks to move on from the gator incident. Which is fine I guess... Just interesting because if that was the intent, it worked.

I'm going to need a whole lot of convincing that GOTG is going to be attached to any possible UOE refurb.

I have spoken to our Old Key West resort bus driver, the cast member at the Taste Track food truck, and a cast member who was sweeping in front of the Universe of Energy pavilion. The consensus was it is decidedly so. Have a magical day and prepare to discover the future wonder of Epcot.

Just somthing I've been ruminating over. So Epcot is approaching 34 years. Any opening day attractions left in a close to original state in theme or story at this point are on the edge of becoming classics. 40 45 years is a hard line. If they are planning to rehaul attractions now is the time. If they leave lets say the greenhouses for another 5 years it going to get kickback taking them out. Or taking out UoE all togehter. Take snow white they knew as they approached 40 it would be hard to remove an opening day attraction they did so but if they were to try today it would prove difficult. Disneyland venerates thr opening day attractions and epcot is moving fast to the date that opening day attractions become time tested classics that can't be altered to much from their original form.

More Marvel aside from GotG? Doubtful due to the contract. Guardians isn't covered by it.
This has been discussed before, but any updates on whether Disney and Comcast worked out whether GotG can stay in the parks past being worked into the Avenger's universe in Infinity Wars? I've been assuming this is the case but haven't heard it definitively.

We have 2 parks , (MK and HS) that are absolutely perfect for whimsical fantasy style rides. And we have another 2 parks (Epcot and AK) which are great for edutainment and understanding our impact on this planet. Each park was designed to be unique in its style of attractions and also offer a bit of contrast in theme and design that serves to make the overall experience more enjoyable by NOT being exactly the same as the others.

The more they stray from that concept, the more the experience becomes diluted and repetitive. It is still enjoyable, but the soul, or "magic" of said experience starts to suffer. Some people will simply never look at it that way. They only see attractions and wait times. They don't see the soul and magic that comes alive through design and storytelling. They see an empty building or outdated ride and just want a hot IP based attraction to replace it regardless of how much it damages the story. Its ripping several pages out of a wonderful book and the next reader Is left guessing on what the missing section was. Epcot is becoming the fading picture in Back To the Future.

do you not think as somebody mentioned earlier that 'future land' would be hard to maintain now with out continuous massive investment due to the quick rate of technological developments>

this is really the crux of the argument for the everyday jamoke that's saying, "who cares?! it's NEW!!!! LOVE THIS ZOMG!!!"

why would you want to do the same thing at four different parks? you're going to pay obscene amounts of money for slightly-different experiences? these are the same people that go to universal and say, "too many screens." and they're probably right about that.

plus, i'll be damned if GotG is relevant even by the time this attraction comes out. marvel fanbois think everyone loves this stuff, and they support their claims with box office successes. but it's far more more niche than you realize.
