I am just really happy they found a way to mask the loop point. I always hated having to watch the dirvers or swimmers just reappear out of no where. I like it, I will always miss the 80'sness of the old but I will learn to love the new. I really enjoy the video of them at the end, which also used to be the place of the carrousel.

Wow thank you for getting the video up so fast!! I really was going to wait and ride it without looking at pics or vids but thats pretty hard to do:p

and yes the fireworks are still there!!!! yeah!!!!!!! Everything looks really nice and fresh and colorful.

however i think the tunnel is gone at the beginning with the hieroglyphics
on the side and the mist?

will kinda miss that but, everything looks like they really kept the feeling and spirit of the original while adding some more color and enchanced lighting etc.

just wish it could have been animatronics at the end instead of the screen in place of the carousel.

Thanks for the video! I think they did a great job. Just watching the video I can put myself in the boat and smell the food. Margaritas, anyone?

I'll take one.....make that two :slurp: I can't wait to be enjoying a margarita, and ridding the new attraction, only 44 more days to go :sohappy:

Great video, good work Steve thanks.

A little sad they got rid of the mexican woman trying to sell you stuff, although my wife doesn't know it I always found her really hot :slurp:

Looking forward to my visit in October

Wow, I am impressed. The only thing that really differs this from el rio in my eyes is the ole song, but it is really nice and tastefully done IMO. Essentially it seems to be the same thing as Nemo's undersea adventure, using the screens to play off as what would normally, and long ago would be, audio animatronics. The only thing I wish they would have done would have placed a 3 cab AA figure of some sort in there, I think that would have made it complete, other than that and it being the same thing as nemo except the animation is hand drawn, its a welcomed "plussing" of an old attraction indeed.

Cant wait to get back down there so I can do this one.

Wowowowowowow

This is exponentially better than I expected. I honestly expected the three cabs to completely take over my beloved El Rio. I know they were just changing the movies and making small adjustments, but I still expected the worst.

Low and behold, my faith in Disney making good changes has been somewhat restored. First, Nemo, and now this!

Instead, it looks like we have a tastefully done extension of the old theme. The cheesy travelog videos are still there, and there's even more of them than before. It still advertises "the Beauty of Mehico" but it is extremely happy and colorful the whole way through. And now we have two attractions that focus on the duck (Philharmagic and now this) to boot!

My only complaint is that it would have been nice to have a couple AAs, as others suggested.

I really can't wait to see it with my own eyes, and I'm seriously thinking about making a weekend trip soon just to do it!

Looks great!...

...would have loved if they kept the old song... and had the 3 Cabs sing it instead.

Well, I still have my mp3 of the whole 'old version'... good pro quality.

Wow, I was expecting good things, but wow. I am truly impressed. Great job imagineering. Epcot's rehabs have been spot on lately.

Thanks for the pictures and video. Looks like a fun little ride. Next time I'm in EPCOT I may even queue up for the boat ride in Mexico, something I haven't done in years.

I will also say that the recent successful rehabs of the Seas, Land and now Mexico boads well for what might be done to Spaceship Earth during its "rumored" upcoming rehab.

And let us hope they will soon do it right this time with Journey into Imagination and the Magic Eye Theater, whenever they decide to begin that project.
