Keep Moving Forward
I'm planning a Mommy/Daughter day with my 4 yo this weekend. We have an Alamo Draft House near us that lets kids 3 and up in for certain showings so I'm thinking dinner and Frozen. I hope she likes it.

One Little Spark...
WOW! I just got back from seeing Frozen, THAT MOVIE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely loved it! :joyfull:
That's good to hear. I skipped Rapunzel in theaters because I wasn't impressed by the previews, but later saw it and it was fantastic (I regretted not going). So, I went and saw Brave with lots of anticipation, but was disappointed, because I didn't think it was that good. So, I skipped Wreck It Ralph, and later bought the DVD. It was fantastic!

Are you seeing a pattern? <grin>

Just the finished the film. It was amazing a true classic and powerhouse the story was great. Just watch guys its a great film. As for the music, expect let it go to be heard when people talk about great disney songs. Also anna is the best princess no questions asked.
I saw an early screening last weekend with some friends. Afterward they said there was a little girl in the bathroom trying to sing it, but she could only remember the one line. I got a pretty big laugh at the thought of a kid sitting on the toilet singing "Let it go! Let it go!"

We just got back. Absolutely incredible. It's a full blown broadway style musical in that the songs advance the plot. Most songs are really good and a couple are as good as anything that I've heard in 20 years. They aren't really hummable, so if you are expecting pop style hooks (like Lion King) you may be disappointed. Let it go is the closest. What I really liked was that the plot was well paced and didn't feel at all forced. It was also unpredictable in places and you should avoid spoilers is you can. Who knew that Kristen Bell could keep up with I.M? At the end, over the credits, about 15 little kids were up front dancing to the music. I haven't seen that in awhile. A grandpa was singing Let It Go to his grand daughter as they left the theater. Disney hit this one out of the park.

Forgot to add, this movie is absolutely gorgeous like elsa's magic and whatever scene she is using it is phenomenal. The scene in which she actually uses them to make an ice palace made my jaw drop, Disney is getting the hang of CGI so wonderfully its hard to see this movie being in any other format. As for the music I need to purchase the soundtrack asap, the songs like @Disneyfanman stated are not pop ballads, but then again they weren't meant to be. They serve the story and emotions of the scene front and center, however there are a few that folks will want to sing, Fixer upper, For the first time in forever, let it go, and bits of do you wanna build a snowman. This film was meant to be on Broadway pure and simple, I am sure some time from now we will see it. As of now I just couldn't be happier that this film soared the way it did. Also olaf is anything but annoying, his character is endearing, humorous, and above all loving.

Agreed on Olaf! I really didn't like that early teaser (released over the summer). In the movie though he is used perfectly. He steals scenes but not in an annoying manner. He doesn't really appear until halfway through the movie, and when he does remains clearly a supporting character. No worries on it ever being his movie. It's really about the sisters.

It is even so though he was a fantastic addition, gosh what a great film. In my opinion it was much better than tangled.

Olaf is clearly an "Act 2" character. (I find myself unable to watch Disney movies without keeping an eye out for the 3-act structure.) As soon as Elsa ran away from the palace and Anna set out to find her (signaling the end of Act 1), I found myself thinking "it's about time for a funny sidekick to be introduced," (knowing vaguely that there was a snowman in the movie). Olaf's introduction is perfectly timed!
