Free Dining

I checked into this last night on other websites. It sounds as if the free dining might be linked with the hotel that you book. If you booked at a Value, you would not qualify. The moderate resorts receive the quick service and you would have to stay at a deluxe to get the regular dining plan. As I mentioned, this too is only a rumor...guess we will have to wait and see. I am already booked to go the end of August, I have never been to Disney during a free dining period, a little concerned about trying to get ADR's???

Yes
I think they release free dining to get people there in those "school" months because it would be dead if they didnt, and to give people on a budget a chance to go. Making it that you have to stay at a deluxe resort to qualify for reg dining wouldn't make much sense to a consumer. Basically a 6 night stay would cost you like a 9 night stay and just buying dining staying at a value resort.

We having our WDW Fairy Tale Wedding at the end of Sept.

If this rumor proves to be true, that would be SWEET news for our wedding guests!

*Crosses fingers!

BTW, I have a question about the Free Dining: I've read all the details about how this works for AP holders, but is it possible to apply this to a DVC reservation? We are, in fact, AP holders, so I know we would need to get a one-day, one-park ticket nonetheless, but I'm wondering if we can get Free Dining. (I also know that the Dining Plan, in general, is available to DVC resort guests, but not sure how the free offer applies.)

Thanks for any help!

I have Bay Lake Towers reserved on Sept 3rd - 6th with the Deluxe Dining plan. Is is possible with these free dining offers that happen, to get a discounted price on my trip?

You would need to be booking a Magic Your Way Package Reservation with at least a 1-day base ticket in order to qualify for Free Dining.

- if you are staying at the DVC on points, sorry.
- if you are renting points from a DVC member, sorry.

If you buy, at least, a one day ticket for each party member you can get the price of the basic dining plan applied to the Deluxe plan. So, in that sense, you can get a discount.

Edit: Joe beat me to it! And said it better!

This is how it worked in UK, but we had to book last Autumn for Sept this year. Value - no free DDP, Moderate - free QSDDP, Deluxe - free DDP.

Hey all, Please remember that at this point, all of this is rumour and speculation. If this offer is made and it becomes official we will have more information on all of the limits and availability. If this is released officially, look for one of the Konsultants to post it along with any information that we have on the deal, as we always do. Until then we can only hope............. Belle

Only for the UK. If you live in the US the regular dining plan will be offered at all resorts. They have never done the dining plan scheme you mention for US residents.

I hope they extend it this year into Oct. We will be there on the 10th. :brick:It would save me so much money!!

Well, if it sticks to the current rumor, you'll just have to arrive on Oct. 3!

Sounds like a great excuse to lengthen the trip to me! And look, the savings in food will offset the room cost!:sohappy:

From 2005-2008 free DDP was offered for stays at Values, Mods and Deluxes every Aug-Sept. Why would they scale back the offer this year, when thanks to the recession WDW needs bigger not smaller discounts to bring in guests?

I have free dining for the beginning of September from a bounce-back. I don't know if that means anything for whether or not it will be open to the public.
Same here, I have a bounceback free DDP booked for Aug. 23-31. Most years these free dining rumors and announcements are pretty exciting for me, but this year it's all a big snore. Now, if they announce free deluxe DDP, I'll drop everything and re-book. But that's about as likely as High School Musical 3 being added to the Great Movie Ride.

This is so tempting that I am considering moving the trip to Sept. It was just so darn hot the last time though. What should I do??????:brick: This would save me 1200.00, and I would never be able to save that much with any other discount. I just HATE to pull my kids out of school. :brick:
