I never liked the way the playoffs were structured...and this shows a flaw in the system. A 9-7 team gets in...but an 11-5 team doesn't. Also, an 11-5 team is seeded lower than that 9-7 team. It has been like this for years and I doubt they'll change it, but it just doesn't seem right.
Anywho, I'd love to see the Cinderella story play out and I hope that Miami goes all the way.
(I take that back...an 8-8 team makes it in).
Here is how it should be. (In my eyes).
AFC:
1. Tennessee Titans (13-3)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4)
3. Indianapolis Colts (12-4)
4. Miami Dolphins (11-5)
5. Baltimore Ravens (11-5)
6. New England Patriots (11-5)
NFC:
1. New York Giants (12-4)
2. Carolina Panthers (12-4)
3. Atlanta Falcons (11-5)
4. Minnesota Vikings (10-6)
5. Philadelphia Eagles (9-6-1)
6. Arizona Cardinals (9-7)
But instead, we get this:
AFC:
1. Tennessee Titans (13-3)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (12-4)
3. Miami Dolphins (11-5)
4. San Diego Chargers (8-8)
5. Indianapolis Colts (12-4)
6. Baltimore Ravens (11-5)
NFC:
1. New York Giants (12-4)
2. Carolina Panthers (12-4)
3. Minnesota Vikings (10-6)
4. Arizona Cardinals (9-7)
5. Atlanta Falcons (11-5)
6. Philadelphia Eagles (9-6-1)
Why should the Chargers get to play at home against Indy? They didn't earn that right.
Why does Arizona get to play at home against the Falcons? Again, they didn't earn that right.
