Well, it was only dormant for a few years before the characters were shoehorned into Milo Murphy's Law, and now it's getting a movie and some shorts... so I suppose there's that.

I always thought bringing them back was a great idea. Totally down for more stories with them, sure it stuck to the formula but I enjoyed it. Definitely will check out the new movie.

Apparently, their may be another movie in development.

So Tony Baxter would come out of retirement for Imagination. Isn't he coming out of retirement for Princess and the Frog?

That was my immediate thought as to why the video was taken down. Hard to promote him as being involved with Princess and the Frog when he's talking about coming out of retirement if he could work on a different ride.

I didn't get to watch the video before it was removed, but I was under the impression he was only consulting on PatF, but would fully come out of retirement for Imagination. I could be dead wrong though.

Yeah, he's always just been called a consultant on PatF. I think the general view is that the consultant title was nothing more than honorary, though, and a way to promote that the person who designed Splash Mountain is involved.

It was the same way for Frozen Ever After (ick still hate that name), he was a consultant when the main designer was...oh I forget his name, he worked on several attractions in non Disney European parks.

Maybe "Creative Advisor" isn't considered out of retirement? Or maybe the role isn't as active enough to be considered out of retirement?

He’s a consultant. He’s had an exclusive consulting contract since his retirement. He gives input but is not responsible for the work. Coming out of retirement would likely mean being actively involved in development, not just giving feedback, and also possible having some degree of responsibility.

Well, was The Princess and the Frog all that relevant before Frederick Chambers or whatever his name is posted his idea for a retheme of Splash Mountain online?

Come to think of it, is Ratatouille even still relevant?
So what you are saying is.......

I can have hope for a fox and the hound and wall-e ride 😊😊❤️❤️❤️😉😉

Tony has been wanting to be involved in a re-do of the Imagination Pavilion for ages now.
AGES.
Anyone who knows the man knows this goes waaaaay back, and the recent comment of his making the rounds now from the 65 Years of Theme Park Design 'virtual panel' event from last week isn't really breaking news.
It IS however a nice re-affirmation of his long held desire to do so and to be involved in the process in some form.

Would be nice if it happens....he has some really great ideas.
Wether today's Disney would actually LISTEN to those ideas of his is another matter.....

Michel Den Dulk , a very creative Dutch designer and artist that has done a lot of excellent work for the famous 'Efteling' theme park before being pursued by Tony Baxter to work for WDI.

Tony is a huge fan of Efteling Park, and loved Michel's work there.
He went to a lot of trouble to get Michel on board at WDI, and after many delays it finally happened much to Tony's delight.

Michel was Tony's 'apprentice' in some respects, and was involved in some of Tony's last projects before the Disney Legend's 'retirement' in 2013.
Disneyland's 'Fantasy Faire' was the last major project for Tony before 'retiring' which Michel had a major influence on in it's design and overall 'look'.

He continued on and worked on more projects, most notably the 'Frozen Ever After' Attraction at Epcot in Orlando, FL.
A really nice guy, and i love the quality and detailing of his artwork.
I can see why Tony became such a fan of his work....i see a lot of similarities there in the style of drawing and design sensibilities.
