EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Someone wanted a painting of DF on their wall. There, that's what it means.

...he knows exactly what he's doing...
I saw this post earlier, and noticed that he didn’t like any of the comments for some reason, and he usually tends to like the majority of first comments on his posts, except for this one... my best guess is that it’s due to the fact that imagination is a very touchy subject for imagineering right now, and he simply doesn’t want to like anyone’s comment to make people feel like he’s trying to hint at something even more by interacting with their comment. Whenever they toy with us it makes me so irritable and annoyed because they put this stuff up on social media, and they simply label it as a quick blast to the past, while they could’ve prioritized it in the Epcot overhaul over something like Moana or Marry Poppins, and on top of that we’ve all been waiting for the Band-aid on a wound of an attraction to be replaced by something permanent/worthy since 2002...

Yes
I don't see why it wouldn't, unless they never really started with it, then maybe we get Agent P back or nothing at all.
Phineas and Ferb is still a popular brand (new movie just dropped today) and any changes would cost money. When all the budgets are being looked at, even a small expense like the Ducktales update could be cut if it is seen as a lateral move.

If say show pieces aren’t fabricated yet, then I can see DuckTales getting canned. If the Agent P stuff has already been gutted, I give it a 50/50 chance between them reinstalling it versus abandoning the concept as a whole. It’ll make for a neat clickbait “Fun facts about World Showcase” video five years from now when the deactivated effect points are still visible.

Sort of like the Pal Mickeys that could still say oudated stuff from the parks awhile ago. Idk if all those are gone or not.

Agent P was taken apart a couple of days before it “officially” left. The France game was apparently taken away before the rest left. Many effects weren’t working etc. Not sure if this adds to the likelihood for Ducktales.

Side Note: Enjoyed the new movie wasn’t as good as the other but enjoyable. Nice to see them back.

So... I’m guessing any update for imagination is going to occur at the earliest, maybe 2026 at this point? Just throwing my guess out there, that’s all. I at least hope we see something new this decade, and yes, I am aware that everything for Epcot’s overhaul is being re-evaluated.

I know, it’s incredibly sad. I would tag Martin here to see if he could tell us anything about it, and when an update may come, but I'm not going to because I’d assume it’s not even being considered right now, going off of what Martin has said in regards to the re-evaluation of plans for Epcot, and how he’d be surprised if imagination is updated anytime soon, or prioritized over something else. Plus, it wasn’t slated to go down until around 2025 according to him, which at this point seems a bit unlikely with the pandemic, thus the reason I guessed 2026 as a possible time for an update.

2026 does feel like a long time from now, especially when 2020 has already felt like several years on its own. Honestly with so many plans in flux it’s anyone’s guess right now. IMHO, once we see what Disney’s full modified plans are in regards to EPCOT’s overhaul and what they plan on doing for WDW’s 50th, we’ll have a better idea of what direction Disney is going to go in. That will tell us what demographic they’re focusing on. They’ve prioritized long-distance travelers over locals, but that’s not working out for them presently. Either they stay the course or acknowledge that the world is different and need locals to help sustain them. And key demographics are what really dictate new investments in the parks.

With all of the changes over the past several months in leadership, I’m curious whether D’Amaro is a Figment and Dreamfinder fan. If he is, that could actually significantly help any future plans for the Imagination Pavilion. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Disney has been adding more new Figment merchandise recently, which definitely looks to be a good sign.
