EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

2025 was the estimated year for changes last we heard anything.

Perhaps an update on the pending SSE refurbishment will come when Imagination's does

Due to the pandemic changing Disney's plans for EPCOT, there's a lot left to be desired (it was already missing a lot to begin with.) Whether the finished projects are labelled a success by Disney or not in 2023, I think they're going to feel that they have to do more. Success means more money and more guests that need to be satisfied, and the expansion being a flop would indicate that they have more to do.

Epic Universe is coming and is going to keep them on their toes.

I think a simple and temporary fix that would put a little life in the pavilion again while we continue to wait for a new attraction, which has to come eventually even if it's not what we want, would be to clean the pyramids, repaint the building to be pastel blues and purples (or, at the very least, move away from the Kodak colors as its been over 10 years since they sponsored the pavilion), and put a new show in the Magic Eye Theatre. I don't know why they haven't already, it's a cheap(er) way to put life into an existing building and it would be something fairly marketable, especially on park maps, bus ads, and the genie app, and would bring in more foot traffic towards that side of the park where guests can buy flavored popcorn and Figment merch.

The Figment AA at the platform outside the touch and taste labs is so messed now. His left hand is stuck in the raised position completely now, and this started happening before they put the sweater on. Why would they put on the sweater without fixing this problem?

AGREED. I believe the “new Epcot” concept art had the pavilion back in its original coloring…

Bring back Magic Journey's for a limited engagement, and reopen whatever is left of the image works upstairs.. get as much of it working again. At least that will be a good filler, till.. whatever comes next.

On a visit last week I had to ride this out of respect to what was there before, and because my wife had never been to Epcot. Despite the trainwreck that it is, she actually said she enjoyed it and we wound up riding it a second time a few days later. Bless her.

There’s nothing left up there. Nothing functional at least. Everything that did something has been removed, save for Dreamfinder’s Balloon Race (which has been partially dismantled as it is). All that remains are some bits of signage and carpet imprints.

A lot was destroyed or gutted to use the equipment elsewhere in the park. Most of what was explicitly marked for archival is still up there. Some of it was stolen over the years.

A couple of those have actually made it to private collections one way or another! If they’re as magic as they said they were though, they could be used around the park to undo some of the ugly paint jobs

Remember, the current ride was originally a "temporary fix" when it debuted in '02, which will be *20 YEARS AGO* in 6 months.

If anything happens to Imagination, it needs to be a more permanent solution. Any more temporary fixes will just perpetuate the problem further.

I do agree though, some cleaning of the exterior structure would make the pavilion infinitely better. The glass pyramids have a rectangle pattern from the mold instead of their actual triangular pattern everytime I take a picture.

It’s insulting that he’s only recognized as an easy way to sell merch to fans, but Disney wouldn’t dare put any of that revenue towards actually returning him to the attraction that he’s associated with.
