Way more than that..This is Figment we're talking about..Guess I'll have to wait and pick mine up on EBay for $200.
Is that on sale yet? I didn't know to look and I'm back at the airport now
Phew. I don't hate myself now.The popcorn bucket goes on sale Friday the 14th.
Any pictures of the sculpture? Someone said there was a giant Figment statue between the TTC and Contemporary resort, but again no pictures.Phew. I don't hate myself now.
I will say i noticed a few old school figment things on race weekend. Miller marker drawing. Selfie sculpture, and audio/songs from the original ride. It gives me some hope
Well, that's good to hear. It was still stuck as of Friday. In other news, they finally fixed the left hand stuck in the raised position on the animatronic at the Touch and Taste labs platform, although its still not smooth/full motion. Coincidentally after my visit where I told a CM about the issue. Next time someone is there, can someone please tell a CM there about the poor state of the animatronics?
I remember seeing that (and thinking it was odd they didn’t place it closer to Epcot, but happy to see him getting exposure regardless). If I remember correctly, I think it was about 5 feet tall (give or take) and flat (2D not 3D, like a sturdier cardboard cut out). Wish I had taken a pic now, I remember thinking about itAny pictures of the sculpture? Someone said there was a giant Figment statue between the TTC and Contemporary resort, but again no pictures.

I can't believe the ride would even be operational in that condition. In the past the ride would have been 101 until those things could be fixed, especially as both of those issues ruin the show.Well, that's good to hear. It was still stuck as of Friday.
What needs serious help is the sound room. The audio isn't synced with the ride and the animatronic there looks murderous while having a seizure. It needs help desperately.
Also, on Friday there was a delayed opening. Once imagination finally opened the large door at load was wide open and non-functional. You could see and hear the first scene play out from load. Then in the finale the screen for the first car was stuck in it's down position.
Hope these get fixed soon. The ride looks pretty bad right now.
Same.. but I also just recently saw a video of Carousel of Progress with much of the show lighting being out, and/or major show effects, like the oven door in the end scene being stuck open. WDW attraction maintenance is in a sad state atm, to say the least.I can't believe the ride would even be operational in that condition. In the past the ride would have been 101 until those things could be fixed, especially as both of those issues ruin the show.
Well, because of the pandemic, only one person can work maintenance in the parks. So, Bob is working on the warped tiles on the Tron building. He can't do it all at once, you know! You’d expect for the 50th anniversary, things would be spotless & refurbed to their original/opening day condition, if not with some slight improvements/enhancements that don’t come at the expense of the original integrity of the show or ride. But nope, it’s the complete opposite of DL’s 50th.
To be completely honest, rides at MK (except Splash Mountain which had a ton of broken effects) were running much better than I've seen recently and facades looked refreshed. I really appreciated that. They could've expanded that to the other parks as well to make it "more inclusive" to the resort as a whole instead of just MK.Who wouldn't rather have had a meaningful refurb and upgrade to all the opening day classic attractions in the Magic Kingdom instead of the stupid gold painted statues?

Like I said before, the animatronics at JIIWF are perfectly capable of realistic motion. They just simply won't adjust them properly. There was a good period of Disney ride maintenance in early to mid 2018 that got completely screwed up in 2019. Tower of Terror got new loud speakers in early 2018 and the animatronics at JIIWF got re-adjusted to be more natural moving and match more how they used to be in the early 2000's. If you remember in 2017, the Figment animatronic at the Touch & Taste labs platform used to be very erratic/fast moving. That being said, animatronics resort-wide seriously need fixing/replacing. The movements in older attractions like COP, American Adventure, and JIIWF (the ones I've noticed) are extremely limited and look like Chuck E Cheese animatronics in comparison to the figures in RoTR. As much as I love new additions I would also love to see newer animatronics resort-wide. The technology gap between the A100s and what we have now is incredible.
Easy fix: bribe the TDL maintenance team to come to FloridaIt's almost like a maintenance team came through these rides to purposely screw up something that didn't need touched, and both in my example are still not fixed properly.
This. Animatronics require daily maintenance, especially when performing in a theme park setting. Those Figment AA’s are operated by pneumatic air, and animatronics running off of pneumatic systems often times must be calibrated and taken care of. I own a Mr. Munch animatronic from Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theater, and even I myself have to deal with maintenance issues. I’ve been meaning to fix his eyelids for months now, and finally decided to order a part which will hopefully work in place of the original deteriorated pneumatic cylinder. It’s a process, but those Figment AA’s simply need to be recalibrated and I’m sure there are parts that need replacing. From my understanding listening to Imagineers talk about AA's, function and movement doesn't necessarily get lost over time. Rather, the individual(s) working on the AA have to spend enough time and care to get them to perform at optimum levels.
