Favorite smell at Disney

Another one of my all time favorite Disney smells are the Gingerbread house display! Anytime I smell gingerbread outside of Disney it always put me right back there again, until I open my eyes  and realize I'm not there.

Yeah I can smell that stuff from a mile away.

I had an ex-GF that bought the Leila (female) stuff. It was great cause every time I smelled her I felt like I was in Norway:kiss:

I have an ex-wife that likes that scent. Not sure if thats good or bad.

For the record, if anybody is "Disneysick" Nordstrom sells that Gier line as well.

I use the Gier from time to time as well.

As far as WDW scents are concerned, I have to say Rome Burning as well. The problem is, I never (or almost never) smell that outside of Disney, so nothing "takes me back"

The smell of a two-cycle engine (weed whacker, chain saw, etc) instantly brings me back to childhood vacations in Canada. Smell can be one of the most powerful mental triggers.

For me its the drinking water. It has a sulpher smell to it that I have never smelled in any other water. Sometimes when someone lights a match it takes me right to a drinking fountain in Epcot!

50's Prime Time. For some reason (maybe it's the menu items) there's a strong smell of "home cooking" in that establishment. Of course, after 45 minutes in the lounge.....:dazzle:

Main Street is full of great smells...those first few steps through the entrance in the morning is definitely a treat for the senses.

Though the smell I will likely remember for a long, long time is the citrus-like smell in the lobby at the Swan hotel. Was the first thing I noticed when checking in last year and still can't forget it. Actually, we were able to find a few air fresheners back home to replicate the scent all year round.

Three come to mind:

1. The inside of the monorail (air conditioning).

2. The smell of the wood (possibley mesquite) used to build things such as Fort Wilderness, Splash Mountain etc. Especially when it gets wet.

3. The diesel buses.....

I love the smell of the orange groves on Soarin' since it's my favorite attraction.

But what's this "Rome burning" smell of which people speak? I can't seem to place the reference.

We also bring home as much hotel soap as possible. That way if one of us is having a bad day I can just replace our regular soap with a Mickey soap. Guaranteed to bring back vacation memories and create smiles in the tub!

I also love the smells walking through the Pirates queue, standing outside of Flame Tree BBQ, and the Main Street Bakery.

I love the smells of the Grand Canyon Concourse of the Contemporary Resort, Beach Club lobby, Wilderness Lodge lobby, and the Great Ceremonial House at the Polynesian!

I agree with everybody. And the best is when you are indoors especially whether they are rides with or even without water and the dark seems to intensify the smell especially when you feel the coolness of the air and it blows towards you. The smell is heavenly!

:lookaroun

Actually most of the restaurants have this unique smell that is a mix of the food and the building. To name a few the 50's and Sci-Fi. Sci-Fi has this weird smell mixed with the fryer that I just can't describe.

Ok, I'm off this thread. So many wonderful smells to choose from.:ROFLOL:
