FastPass Debate

My son and I are having a disagreement about how you can use the fastpass. So, I thought perhaps with all the park knowledge in this forum I could get an answer to our debate. So, here is the hypothetical situation we disagree on: Suppose you are at DHS and are leaving at 11am, and have missed going on the ToT, but you know you are coming back later in the afternoon. If you grap a FP prior to leaving the park at 11am, can you use it say at 4pm even though the "window" printed on the ticket has passed?

Yes.

The CMs strictly enforce the start time of the FP window but generally ignore the end time.

Yea you can and I'm surprised not that many people dn't know about that, people think you have to go during the printed time. You can use the fastpass anytime during that day as long as its after the first time on the fastpass.

Yay! I win!:sohappy: I tried to tell him it was the system at 6 Flags that is strict about the start and end time! Wahoo! Sorry, I don't "win" often with my teen, so I am a little excited!:ROFLOL:

Just don't tryusing it even one minute early because they do make you wait until the exact start time most of the time. (at least at Soarin')

Yes...for the longest time I too believed that you had to use it only at the printed time...come to find out you can use it long after the end time, as long as it is within the same day. Makes things easier if you don't feel like rushing back to something.

bear in mind, that is an unofficial policy, and will continue to be so until/unless WDW stops putting end times on the fastpasses to say something like "valid any time from (time x) to park closing." Until then, they reserve the right to start to enforce the time window.

Here's something else you can add to it, after the time has started you can get a second FP, and a third too if you wait long enough for the second to start. :animwink:

This has happened to us a few times and have never been turned away. We usually do try to get back during that time, but with kids it's hard. Especially at EPCOT to get across that park for TT and Soarin is tough. And if you are supposed to be back the same time as an ADR it's impossible.

Absolutely!

You can use it anytime after the beginning of the "time window" - as long as it's that day and before the park closes...obviously.
