I could be wrong though.

I'm having a hard time visualizing the plans from backstage.

I have a brief something to say to the people who say that the new FL is bias to girls.

When I was, like, 5, I went to Storytime with Belle with my Mom. I LOVED the movies, and BatB was one of my favorites. Well, I was chosen by BELLE to play... Gaston. Well, he was pretty nasty, and I wasn't sure I liked how much Belle liked me then. I did my part, and then (because I felt bad about being Gaston) I gave her a hug. She was very sweet and very nice. I wanted to say something else to her, but I was nervous, but she said that she was going to do a Meet n Greet session right after she said "hi" to Beast (well, now the prince). So after she came back out I waited on the long line to meet her. And then I got real nervous... what would I say? I finally squeaked out "You're my favorite princess." and she was absolutely struck with my cuteness. She said something like "Well, you're my favorite prince" or something and then she kissed me on the cheek. I was ecstatic! Belle liked me after all, and I had the lipstick mark on my cheek all day to prove it!

But that's not all... when we went to dinner with Cinderella in her castle. I was SO embarrassed when I realized I still had a lip-mark on my cheek from Belle! So I sat on her lap and she asked me: "Who kissed you?" I had to say: "Belle." She said, "You know her? She's one of my best friends." I said: "Sorry, Belle's my favorite..." but then quickly followed up with "But I like you too! You're very pretty, and so is your castle!" Struck with my cuteness, Cindy said: "Thank you! Honesty is a very important quality in a prince. Remember to keep being good!" Then she kissed me on the other cheek. AHHHH!!!!! A DREAM COME TRUE!!!! I wouldn't tell my mom what she said, but soon enough she saw the other kiss mark. The kisses stayed on my cheeks for about 3 days after the meetings, and they always stayed with me.

So where are the story police? They're almost always here! The only couple of theme violations I can think now of are:

- How would one meet Ariel in Mermaid form RIGHT after seeing her turn into a human?

- If you get to the castle via walking through a magic mirror in Maurice's house, how do you get to the restaurant? Through the scary wolf-infested forest?

- How will the Cinderella walkthrough (we're getting the clone from Tokyo's new castle walk-through) fit into the story of the Tremane house? Because it looks like you go into the ballroom, which is DEFINITELY in the castle. So will there be an illusion of going to the castle? Well, never misjudge the Fairy Godmother...

Yep. :) Won't be touched.

(I'm kinda glad in a small, small way... There's always something to be said for a bit of 1971 Nostalgia! :) )

Looks like only Ariel's Grotto and Pooh's playground would need to close and they may be able to delay that by putting walls behind them and move up a little later?

I really hope it is expanded farther than we think. The artwork makes it look soo much more vast and separate than the small area it is assumed to be in. Honestly, I don't know how it will all fit in that area! Doesn't make sense to me...

Small? Believe me...that area isn't small at all.

I highly doubt its going to be small. Looks pretty darn big to me.

All in all, I am very excited about these plans. I go to WDW A LOT as I live in Tampa so we go on the weekends normally. Me even being a male, I really like these plans. FL currently is a mess. Compared to DLP and DL, ours right now is ridiculously smaller and just doesn't look as good. With these plans, it will GREATLY improve the look of the land and also (although i'm not getting tooexcited over the princess M&G), Each princess' area where their M&G's are looks absolutely amazing from the concept art. I also LOVE adding Ariel's Adventure as it will eat people and will likely never have too long of a wait. It is the first TRUE dark ride that MK has gotten in a long, long time. Also, making a 2nd dumbo is a good idea as that will eat people aswell. I'm still not sure exactly how the interactive queue area will work, but it sounds great. Not getting over excited about Pixie Hollow, but being someone who has a 2 year old sister (who will be 6 I think when completed), not only will this area be good for her, but just this whole new FL. The Be our Guest/Gaston's Tavern Restaurant sounds great also. I'm looking forward to eating there and trying it out when it opens.

So all in all I think this is great and FL will be MUCH improved when this is done.

What an awesome story!

I think Marni Posted a picture a while back showing how Big Thunder and Splash would fit on the old 20K lot with room for something else smaller and this makes more room than that by taking out dumbo and using the toon town fair space.

Yup. Space will definitely not be a problem.

I completely understand the "girl" bias of the fantasyland expansion, but as a male I'm fine with it. I'm really excited to experience the BatB portion of the expansion, as well as The Little Mermaid ride. And with the improved Dumbo area, perhaps I'll go on it again. And I'm sure Pixie Hollow will look great.

Another ride would've been great, but it looks pretty darn good right now.

I've been thinking about the Cinderella, Belle & Aurora "attractions." I wondering if these are NOT meet & greets at all and just experiences for guest. So no pics and autographs at these spots, so truly attractions.

Several years ago (at least in 2006) the Magic Kingdom hosted a "Magical Beginnings Extra Magic Hour" for kids. Lots of characters came out and played with the kids, but no "formal" pictures or autographs were allowed. Peter Pan and Wendy were playing Red Light, Green Light, Minnie had a beach ball and was playing catch with the kids, Snow White and Dopey had an activity going on, Eeyore, Pooh & Tigger were playing with the kids in their playground. Anyway, so I wonder if some of these attractions were born out of the idea that the kids enjoy the interaction with characters in this way more than just getting a picture and autograph.

Just a thought. Plus maybe they figure that these three princesses can be met at other locations (character meals/Epcot) and the meet & greet format isn't necessary here. On the blueprints, Ariel has a labeled meet & greet as do Tink & Pooh, so maybe these others aren't glorified meet & greets as we all were assuming.

Other random thoughts on this. Helping Belle recreate the Beast story reminds me of a kids version of the World Showcase Players and the having a place to make a birthday card for Aurora is a version of a KidCot station (and they are a popular diversion for kids at Epcot) - so maybe thought something like this would be welcomed at the MK.

I know this may sound weird, and NO I'm not a weird child predator....But I'm actually pretty excited for Pixie Hollow. I think it's based on the concept of what they can do with that area. If they do it RIGHT, then that place can look very magical. I can imagine it now with various tree's lit up, with small laterns haning with small faries, and looking very story book. I agree with the person who said "Walt would be proud"...

about how many acres will the expansion cover? did the press release mention the size?

I wish I had the answer for you, but I'm not sure.

I just know I go by the area everyday I work there. Space won't be an issue.

I don't think so. Just because they will be losing their spots in Toontown, I don't see them not letting you get pics and autographs.

Nothing weird about having a crush on Tink...

Right?

Disclaimer: I'm 21, and a few of my friends are very good friends with Tinkerbell.

Just look at Disneyland's. Beautiful.

Very cute story! I enjoyed reading that.

As I tried to point out earlier, Disney looks to be making an effort to cater to boys with some parts of the princess meets. I'd prefer rides myself, but if we have to use that much space for character meets, then what they have in mind is probably the right way to do it.

This is my guess based off of measurments from google earth but it looks like 4.5 to 5 acres is what the new Belle, Cindy and Ariel ares will cover. this does not include pixie hollow or dumbo.
