extra magic hour preference

The lines seem shorter during the morning EMH than in the evening EMH. From what I've experienced, the first two hours of evening EMH do not have shorter lines.

Evenings. Particularly at AK, but they appear to have stopped that. :(

The three hours' extra is great, particularly after the first hour or so. Lines virtually disappear. At AK it was great because riding EE after dark is the best way to experience it!

It's hard to get going in the morning so we tend to do more of the evening hours. In fact, I think we've only ever made it into a park once for the early hour time and that was just for the 2nd half of it.

Monty, I mentioned to the family just yesterday that it looks like evening EMHs at AK are over with and both the boys said the same thing, "No more EE at night???" Chandler said he's sad because he thinks AK is the prettiest at night. I see the reasoning, more stuff can be open for morning hours and all. Just like with cockpit rides on the monorails, I'm glad it was something we had the chance to do when it was available.

We have tended to take advantage of morning EMH more so than evening EMH, as you can gain alot more ground in that one hour before most of the guests arrive, than you can in 3 hours with the park still packed. Let's face it, even when it's only open to resort guests, when you think of how many resorts there are and how many rooms there are amongst all those resorts, and the amount of people that would constitute just HALF of that amount, that can make the park just as packed as when it's open to the public. It may be very cool walking around in the park for 3 hours after park closing just to see everything all lit up, but you may not have much luck getting on the major attractions.

When we have gone to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot for morning EMH at those parks, we were able to cover alot of ground in that one hour. So far, Epcot is the only park where we have done evening EMH and we really enjoyed it because we were with friends of ours, just leisurely walking around the parks and doing the minor attractions with no problem (SSE, Maelstrom, Grand Fiesta, LWTL, etc), but we didn't even attempt to do Test Track. I think we were able to pull of Soarin' one time just because we happened to be there before all the people migrated over, but we still had to wait a half hour or so in line.

So if it's the minor attractions you're interested in, or just seeing the park at night, then evening EMH is for you. If you're really wanting to hit alot of rides, including the major ones, then morning EMH would be the better bet.

AK EMH in the PM were the best. I loved EE at night.

For my family, it depends on the park - evening hours at MK and Epcot and morning hours at the Studios and AK. We did morning and evening hours at AK until evening hours were discontinued.

I'm not a morning person...but in Disney I am! I like the morning EMH because it's a great way to start the day w/shorter lines. Sometimes I'm exhausted from a long day in the Florida heat to stay up until 2am for evening EMH. I enjoy both and usually utilize both on trips but I like the morning ones best. Plus a lot of people who arent resort guests think the parks will be extra crowded due to the 1 extra hour in the morning so they go elsewhere...which I appreciate.

We're morning people and we're always up early with Disney excitement so we always do morning EMH. We always try to do evening but we're usually too tired and exhausted!!

Really -- for the past seven or eight years NONE of the EMH are truly "magical" since the secret is out and most Resort Guests flock to whatever park has the EMH for that day - morning or night. So the parks are busier all day wether it is Morning or Evening EMH.

Morning EMH are by far better if you want to get lots of rides done in a short period of time -- although even on lightly visited days, you will still have thousands of other guests queuing up with you at 7:45 a.m....I feel sorry for regular park visitors that come in at normal Park Opening and find that fastpasses for Toy Story Midway Mania are already a 1:30-2:30 return....

Evening EMH are even more problematic, since nobody leaves the park -- so with the exception of the couple thousand "day visitors" that leave the park at closing time, most of the 15,000 plus just stay there -- the lines remain just as long as they are at peak evening time, and it stays that way until about an hour before closing. The only exception is evening EMH at Animal Kingdom, since most visitors have LONG gone home already, it being no more than a half-day park to begin with for most visitors.

Def. add me to the Early Entry group. I have my gang at the turnstiles at least 30 mins. prior to the EMH opening. We seem to get a lot more done during those first few hours before everyone else has arrived and made it to the parks.

I am a morning person, and I prefer evening EMH. I don't go to the parks trying to cram in as many rides as possible anymore, and the parks at night are so darn pretty.

Evenings. I am not a morning person on vacation, I prefer leisurely a breakfast and a no rush morning. Plus, there is NOTHING like Epcot at night, nothing! I love, love , love it!

I utilize both, but I prefer evening. The morning is great because it has short lines. The evening is amazing because you can stay in a park until 1 or 2 am. I am an evening person and I love being in parks that late at night.
