To answer your question, yes, my mom had a couple of her credit cards stolen out of our room. She packed a small purse to carry in the parks and put her larger purse in a drawer under some clothes. When we got back that night to the room she got out her large purse and noticed her credit cards were missing. So, i never leave anything valuable in my room anymore unless it has a lock on it.

Was this a Disney hotel or offsite?

Yes, it was at one of the All Star Resorts. We contacted the police but nothing ever came of it. I love Disney and always will! I'm just very careful now with any valuable items.

That's too bad. I've had stuff stolen from an offsite room but have always felt safe at Disney. Of course, since the offsite incident I have become much more careful, even at Disney. And I no longer stay offsite.

While at Moana Mickey's arcade at the Polynesian, my middle son left his half-filled smooshed penny collection book next to a machine. He didn't realize he forgot it until we got back to the room. I went back and scoured the arcade and checked with Lost and Found for days after. No luck.

We don't leave anything worth more than $20 unattended in the parks.

In 2005, our last night at WDW, staying at ASMusic, I went swimming with my sister, neice, and mom while hubby was smoking a cigar back away from the pool. I realized I had my brand new Italian Charm bracelet (received as a X-mas gift 3 days earlier) on as well as an older one. Went and placed it on my towel next to hubby. About 30 min later, mom brought my towel over and handed me my bracelets. Went to the room, showered, got dressed and went to get something for dinner. I put the bracelets in a small disney bag as I wanted to pack them in my carry-on, not wanting to have problems during the screening process. I put the bag on the nightstand because I was going to pack my carry-on in the morning to include the last minute shopping in the gift shop. Well, we over-slept by 1/2 an hour. Not a big problem, just more rushed. Mom and I ran over to gift shop while hubby and sister called and arranged for luggage pick up as we were using ME and wanted some help getting it all up to the bus stop. Mom and I come back, find all our stuff piled in one room, put our recent purchases in carry-ons, and got to lobby to check out. After we checked out, we went to have a bite to eat. It wasn't until we arrived home that I realized I was missing my 2 bracelets. I couldn't remember if I had packed them as we did rush around all day. I called the manager at ASMovies and let themknow what happened. They called me back within a week and told me that they conducted a search and it was not found. I also called the airline and MCO and was told nothing was found. Lost or stolen? I don't know. I felt terrible. Hubby promised to replace both bracelets. I remember putting them on the nightstand. I remember packing my carry-on. I don't remember putting the bag of bracelets in carry-on bag. I should have done a second sweep before we left. I learned my lesson. On a positive note. We went back last year and hubby kept his promise to replace the bracelets. And when we left our room, I swept it 3 times to be sure we got everything packed. Did call Lost & Found about a Stitch pin I had lost a day or two before we left. It wasn't until we got home and looked through pics that I realized I'd lost it. And Disney did find my pin and mailed it to me.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :lookaroun

We've never had anything stolen while at WDW.

Trust me here good natured folk - there are people in this world that prey on the vulnerable and the unsuspecting. If you value those precious items then be sure to take good care of them - don't chance things to luck because "it always happens to someone else" - by the law of averages you'll be next

I was just wondering, has anyone ever had anything of theirs stolen while at WDW? I want to bring my iPod and my sunglasses w/ me to the pool and was hoping that nobody would be stupid enough to steal them while I was swimming or something.

When my son was a lifeguard at one of the parks, he had his sandals stolen while he went in to do a rescue. Brand new ones, too. He has also had his sun glasses taken from his chair, too.

Heading for the great escape.
I had just purchased a new Nikon D2H and a range of lenses up to 600mm, a ring flash and some filters and a manforoto tripod, I had also purchased a brand new camera back pack to carry it in. When I got back to my room I discovered the room safe open and my wifes jewellery missing along with £5000 in sterling that I had brought to let the kids have as pocket money.

We were so shocked we went straight to reception to report the missing items, when we returned we found that the camera equipment had been stolen now too and the two Armani suites I had brought to wear at dinner had also gone along with a Coco Channel dress two pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes and a packet of Cheetos and my resort mug.

What was most disturbing is that my wifes brand new Victorias secret underwear had gone too. But to compound our loss the staff at All Stars Music were less than sympathetic.

Small and stupid...

Last summer someone took the "I Brake For Hitch-hiking Ghosts" magnet/bumber sticker off the back of my truck.

Checked Madame Leota's Cart at the haunted Mansion the day after we realized it was gone...it's not available anymore...

We've never had any problems at WDW and hopefully we never will.
Never leave anything of value anywhere, the only time we ever leave anything is when we absolutely hae no other option and then we hide it as best we can putting it inside severall things and covering it up so that anyone who wanted it would have to do a lot of rumaging around to find it and by that time we will have noticed. Don't put anything in your back pokets and when i'm in a crowd of people i always put my hands in my pokets to make sure that no one can steal my wallet or anything without me knowing. even in our house we put things of value/importence in safe places the amount of times my mum has put something in a safe place and then can't find it as she can't remeberwhere the safe place was is unbelieveable. Never trust anyone with somethin thats of great value unless you know for sure that they won't steal it and just use your common sense and then nothing should get taken.

My mom left her camera on the back of her chair at the Rainforest Cafe and when we returned 20 minutes later after realizing it was gone it was no longer there and wasn't in the lost and found either. It must've been someone walking past the table on their way out, because I can't believe the people at the table could've lied with a straight face and I hope our waiter wouldn't have taken it either.

On the positive side...
Not only did we never have anything stolen, but my husband lost two things...on the same day, at different times in different parks. He left a box full of memory sticks on a bench in AK and he left his wallet on top of a trash can in EPCOT. Both items were turned in and returned to him.
The only negative involved was, when my husband asked about the missing wallet at a stand selling refreshments in the World Showcase near Germany, the CM there said that someone did try to turn in the wallet there, but the CM told him she could not accept it and he should take it into the nearest store. The person was honest enough to do that, but we couldn't help but feel that a less honest person might feel that it wasn't really his responsibility to run around with this wallet and if a CM couldn't be more helpful, why should he try. He might have either kept it or tossed it into the nearest trash can. Luckily, that didn't happen, but we wonder why that first CM couldn't have take the wallet.
