You should've called me. I had the chainsaw all ready to go. ;)

Now the problem here is trying to get that chainsaw in the park... :brick:

:sohappy: I got 450 army men into MK last month....:lookaroun....and a certain...ahem....medical device into EPCOT Thursday.

So chainsaw, why not?!?!?! Seems like the next logical step for me.

There could have been a reason for that medical device, you never know... can't imagine what the reason for the chainsaw might be, but we can work around it.

The chainsaw was so we can get the doors open to see the Epcot Gallery. ;) Outside of that reason, I have no reason to bring in powertools to a Disney park. :)

You know.... The last day it was open was Saturday... which was technically the last day of the 2008 fiscal year. Remember how much entertainment ended on that day. It might make sence why the gallery closed silently on the same day...

I will miss seeing the robot butler and the Figment model though.

Fry: "Which crazy thing happening are you guys yelling about?"

I never got to see the gallery. :( I felt like a complete dope when we got back from our trip, I was looking through pictures and all of a sudden I realized: "Holy crap! I forgot about the EPCOT exhibit!"

I'm not at Def-Con Freak-Out (yet :lookaroun) but I'll just wait and see what happens to it (if anything..)

So I just want to get this straight. You guys are mad that a temporary attraction, that has always said to be temporary is closing. Also, you are mad at management, but only certain members of management. The exempt members for some reason include the person in charge of Epcot?

Deja vu! That's exactly what happened to me! :hammer: We had a shortened trip last year and when we got home I realized that we had completely missed it, so I figured it would still be open when we visit again in 3 weeks! I hope it isn't closed, but it sounds likely to have seen its last visitors.

For those of you who have seen it, is it possible to post a few of your best pictures of the room? I remember seeing some that Merf posted last year, but I don't think there were very many.

I truly hope that we'll be able to see this wonderful slice of EPCOT history angain, sometime soon!

Between you and me, Travis, we've got the Futurama quotes covered on this site. ;)

Professor Farnsworth: "Good news, everyone!"

I haven't been there to see for myself, but I can confirm that the 25th Anniversary Gallery is on the EPCOT Times & New Information Guide for the week of September 28th - October 4th, 2008.

Like Rasulo?
Maybe...
Rasulo is just entertaining. The logic behind his decisions....

If he could have it his way it would turn into the Disney Parks Celebration Preview Center. "Homogenizing your vacation experiences, one park at a time"

I would personally prefer to have it stay a quiet homage to EPCOT.

Agreeeeed...If he had his way Future World would be Fantasyland:Future.

I'm in town through Tuesday (actually early Wednesday). I'll see what I can ferret out.
w00t-Thanks!

WoL is still on the map, that's all I'm saying.

Man! I missed all the fun.

Glad Susan and I went in one last time three weeks ago. There was no one (I mean no one) in there the whole time we were. It was nice but I kinda knew it wouldn't last.

And yes, it does cost them something to run it albeit small. I'm sure there's someone maning a camera somewhere so that no one messes with the stuff. Electricity and cleaning expenses are also there. I'm sure it's small but those things are usually the things that get cut when times are tough. Low hanging fruit.

I still say thanks Disney for giving us a great year of memories. Can't believe it's been a year since the 25th.

Wait a minute last year we were talking about how Jim Macphee was the greatist thing that ever happened to Epcot. Now we hate him?:hammer:
No - Jim dosn`t have as much pulling power as we`d wish. He scrambled, argued, pulled every string to get the gallery together in an impossible timeframe (not to mention his input for the 25th) but he dosn`t call these sort of shots.

At least a lot of us got full coverage of the displays for posterity

True...But would it really kill them to keep it open?

Oh yeah, yeah, I knew that

I meant, what reason would we give at the entrance of Epcot to explain bringing a chainsaw into the park :D

I walked by that area several times on my trip 9/16 - 9/23. I even stopped and read the history on the wall. I never saw the door open to that room
