I would love to see BP get in there.
Anything to get a revamp of that ride to bring it into the 21st century.

Yea not till its cheaper :fork:
It always had solar panels. How is that not green?
I'm betting those aforementioned solar panels are paid off by now.

75% of them are dead, and even when fully functioning, they only powered about 1/5th or so of what the ride used.:brick::lol:

Still. That's no excuse.I bet they're paid off though!
Well said. You would think that EPCOT would be on top of this, of all places.Huh, I was wondering if Disney ever did anything to them after their inital installation. Guess the answer is a big no. And as much as you may scoff, 20% by renewable energy is better than 0%. And I might add thats using 1970s technology. Imagine if, every five years or so, that solar installation on UoE had been added to and updated so that new panels came in and they were expanded across more of the building. Heck, how about, as the technology improved, Disney had gone around putting similar installation on WoM, Communicore, The Land, etc? Had that happend, I don't think its unrealistic to think that a good 40-50% of the park could today be running (at least partially) from energy generated by the sun; hardly something to just cast off lightly IMHO.
Its a shame that a forward thinking and innovative idea in 1982 has been essentially abandoned for 27 years now. What could be a shining showcase of technological innovation has instead become a broken relic and symbol of corporate and societal shortsidedness.
Its the entrance staircase to Base 21, the corporate lounge for Siemens.
Yep; they were all re-installed with better versions in the last decade.Huh, I was wondering if Disney ever did anything to them after their inital installation. Guess the answer is a big no.
