A Political Firestorm for updating a movie at EPCOT? It was not created with public funds, so I think it will be fine....
Hopefully we can keep all political agendas out of the theme parks... (well except Tiana...lol) Because if we are worried about updating the China Movie, then we will need razor wire around the Mexico Pavilion and so on...lol

I vehemently disagree there. Luigi's to me is fun and with the many song and choreography differences allows for surprises even if you've been on it multiple times. Mater is the same thing every time, and now has a clone in in DHS. Not hating on MJJ or , just prefer the other. However, in Florida it would have to be an indoor or covered ride to have more uptime.
Tell me you've never been on Aquatopia without telling me you've never been on Aquatopia.

For me, Luigi's is such an underwhelming usage of that concept /ride system I'd almost rather it be removed.

We weren’t impressed. Didn’t help that it broke down the first two times we got in line and we had to leave. Finally got on it the third time. Meh. Waste of a lot of money.

I wish they'd did a version of Luigi's for the Mary Poppins attraction at Epcot. A dancing trackless ride uses the trackless ride system well for flat rides that can add capacity to the parks and provide something family friendly without a height requirement. Not everything has to be an E-ticket

Aquatopia would have been a great use of a ride system for Journey of Water's concept at Animal Kingdom.

And speaking of things featured there/announced, whatever happened to Wondrous China? I feel like we heard that it was already filmed so is that something that might be added at some point? It wouldn't be able to be instantaneous since the screens would need to be renovated to make them seamless.

From what I can gather it was filming, but not complete, when the pandemic derailed it in China. They started filming in (?summer 2019) and would have had scheduled shoots over the course of the year to capture all the seasons through spring 2020.

Obviously China wasn’t in a supportive place to resume shooting until frankly just a year ago. So the question really becomes now that they have actually moved into post pandemic stability if it will resume or if the entire project has been scrapped.

I could be wrong. But yeah, what I've heard is MK and HS are the focus.

This is all off the top of my head, so help me clarify my thinking here.

The thing I don't know is whether the strategy Disney's betting on is:
  1. Add to already-popular parks -or-
  2. Add to less-popular parks
Strategy #1 seems to make sense if Disney sees a need to get people in the door. So if surveys say "I'm not coming because there's nothing new", even after everything that's been added to EPCOT, then adding to MK makes sense. Lots of people think WDW === MK.

Strategy #2 seems to make sense if they need to get people to stay longer. Like, people are coming, but they're only going to 2 parks instead of 3 or 4.

I mention strategy #2 because I recently got an email asking for advice about G+. When I asked for details about the trip, the response was "We're doing 2 days at MK, 1 at EP, and 1 at HS."

I would love to see how many people are skipping AK like that. And this person has a 2-BR at BLT for a week. They have the money and the time.
Disney will do what it will do, but I can see them adding to HS, so folks will do two days at HS.

Another thought I had was Disney will wait and see what EPIC does to WDW numbers then react as needed.

Unlike their movie business, Disney is very money minded when it comes to their theme park business. They don't want to spend a cent more than they need to in the parks.

Now that I think about it, a movie mistake is here and gone, yes money was lost, but the movie mistake is soon forgotten.

When you make a mistake in a theme park, its there for decades - see Celebration Gardens.

Having been on the old Rocket Rods a few times, I was happy to see it go...hoping they would put something else up there... It is crazy that they just let it go to ruin... Really. That is way worse than SGE sitting empty....
Rocket Rods could possibly be the worst mistake in Disney theme park history? No only was Rocket rods a bad attraction, Rocket rods destroyed the people mover track such that the could not even bring back the people mover if they wanted. Very bad.

for Disneyland maybe, for us I would have to say the gutting of JII, or maybe the loss of toad...heck at this point I would say the change of Splash tops all of that.
