I"m a hub guy for sure.

Exactly. I mean, I LOVE TDS... But think about how much better it would be if there was a fairly easy way to get from Indy to the SS Columbia. I don't believe it would hurt the part asthetically in any way from what it is... Because the content is so superior.

And those are two points that are even on the same side of the park!

Ironically, TDL has the best Hub ever.

Even with the modified hub system that connects lands, there always seems to be a dead end or two within the park that becomes unpleasant. I think something could be said of a park that has a hub combined with an almost entirely complete loop.

Future World comes close, but it does lack a connection between Imagination and World Showcase. The Disneylands seem to end up with problems regarding the Rivers, where attractions and walkways creep around the sides, but are then blocked from ever connecting. Little walkways like the ToonTown Fair - Tomorrowland one at the Magic Kingdom or the Fantasyland - Discoveryland one at Disneyland Paris are nice because the are out towards the perimeter. Being placed away means they can become more parklike in their settings, giving contradicting experiences space to fade out and then fade in.

And here I was gonna ask you about Tim Delaney's exit from Glendale ... maybe later!

I was shocked to hear the news, as he was always busy. He's not happy unless his busy (usually you're let go if you're not on a project for a while). Tim's 30 year career at WDI allowed him to grow up among the original Imagineers. Can't buy that. He did some epic stuff like Living Seas, DLP Discoveryland and TL for HKDL to name a few. And so many great things I had the chance to see him develop that you'll never see. At WDI most of your best stuff is never built! Delaney in my book is a Disney Legend and he will be missed for sure.

Except for rare occasions, shouldn't a job within Imagineering be seen more as a stepping stone in a career path? I would think it would be a great place for young people to get amazing experiences on the way to more serious and important disciplines. Just a thought about how I have always viewed Imagineering.

But for theme park design and stuff like that wouldn't WDI be the top?

And the world is much much bigger than theme parks.
Is it really? My world isn't.
Also, there is nothing wrong with WDI being a person's ultimate goal. It is the pinnacle of theme park design, and a worthy aspiration for anyone with that interest.

Well said ... I wanted to be an imagineer from the time I was very young ... and would love to still love too.
