Please don't take this as an attack because that's not how I intend it, but it's a dumb question when you look at both the state of WDW's current four parks and all the work they need as well as all the rational, business reasons for why it will never happen.

Why do you (or anyone) want to see another park at WDW when they can't maintain, staff, grow or keep fresh the parks they have? Are you tired and/or bored with WDW?

I think the parks are maintained fine and are fresh. I'm not tried or bored. I just like Disney a lot and I want more. I'd still go to all the parks.

I won't argue the first point because it is simply your opinion and you are entitled to it (I very much disagree, although things are starting to improve).

That said, it doesn't change the realities of business that there is a point of diminishing returns. Disney hit that point a decade plus ago with DAK. And if you want more, what's wrong with getting that 'more' in the existing parks?

I agree completely with WDW1974. People are not going to add another vacation day because they add another park. The parks right now just need expanding. I have a friend who came from the other coast and after his visit he said "I thought it'd be great to have 4 theme parks to choose from, but when it comes down to it, there are only 2 or 3 good rides at each of them." Bingo.

If anything new gets build, then it'll end up being some boutique park in the style of Discovery Cove where ticket prices will be in the $100-$200 per person at a minimum. And I doubt that this will be coming any time soon.

This conversation is old and I apologize for continuing it, but I wanted to support Mr/s WDW.

Believe it or not, I worked on a concept for a 5th park for WDW a decade ago, but times have changed. The motivation was to have something for teens to do at night that wasn't Pleasure Island. So it was not to get more "nights" as was pointed out, and not to be a full, grand park, it was more of an attraction. Cirque did that to a degree I guess. This was a long time ago on a business plan far far away.

I would only add that on this thread there is no such thing as a "dumb" question. (It's my answers that some have considered dumb! ;-) ) We take all comers.

There was "supposed" Shanghai artwork in another thread here that, when matched up with overhead maps, fit the pciture. The park looked nothing like any other Disney park and it was on a lake. It's TLand looked a lot like Sci Fi. It was very interesting. I hope they come and work with you again so we can see some Sotto magic in another DL!

Hmmm. Haven't seen it. Sounds very encouraging. I'm sure it will evolve too, which is a good thing.

Really? I like Disney as much as the next guy, but I can admit there are flaws at each park...some glaring.

^^^^ Rose Colored glasses and just being overwhelmed with the park as a whole can quickly detract from a negative experience.

Somebody point me to that art....I haven't seen it.

Ok. Here's some super cool stuff to get this thread back on a creative track. How about collectible Steampunk Rayguns?
Wow....too cool. I want....the ray guns and a TL in that style.

It was posted here a few days ago.
I'll look.
What Castle is it, BTW? Couldn't make it out,
Found it.
I don't think the TL looks like Sci-Fi City particularly.
Pro took the art off his page, but here is a small shot of what is rumored to be art for the Shanghai castle. Can't verify it, though.
