Do you usually have 3 table service meals a day?

I was wondering if any guests try to eat at table service/buffet restaurants exclusively three times during their trips to WDW. To me it seems like too much food and too much time. We might do it twice a day -- breakfast and lunch or dinner but not three. Anyone have any thoughts?

No, wouldn't do it, I'm there to enjoy the arttactions and the atmosphere, time is stretched enough without trying to squeeze in 3 sit down meals. I'm quite happy with Quick service meals, I eat as I go! My BF has 2 table service meals a day - breakfast and dinner, at this point I'm eating a takeaway in the hotel room!

Even with the delux dining plan we tend to eat a light breakfast in our room (have DVC) and counter service lunch and then table service (usually at signature dining). Many have told us that we are not getting our money's worth doing this - but we have kept track over the past several years of the actual costs of the meals and have always come out way ahead.

Yes - you lose a lot of time at all table service - but what's the rush when you hit the parks when they open and usually stay until they close.

We never eat 3 meals a day..but we do try to eat 2 credit meal every night so we dont end up with unused credits. And by the end of the week we pass on the dessert and ask for bottled water to go instead.

We never eat more than one table service meal per day. It's far too much food to consume in one day to try otherwise. Breakfast is usually more of a "pastry" type of thing, depending on the given park. Lunch is usually counter service slop, and dinner is reserved for a nicer meal at a table service restaurant.

We had the DDP last summer on our first trip and I think we only ate 3 meals a day on one or maybe two or three occasions. We had Character breakfasts every morning (wont do that again) and then usually a signature dinner. Even with that we had way too much food and we were sick of eating by the last day, and we are all pooh sized indaviduals who really enjoy good food and a nice dinning experience. And to be honest we talk more about where we want to eat on the next trip more than what attractions we want to see (you can see most of the attractions on a single trip if you are there 8 days and plan properly, but it will take a LONG time to eat at all the resturants).

We may do the standard dining plan next time because we were just very impressed with the breakfast food disney had to offer (except at 1900 Park Fare, we will be going back to that one but I think that is mostly due to the characters, but they did have the best food of all the places we ate breakfast at). So we will probably just eat breakfast in the room or use snack credits and save the dinning credits for supper.

Count me in among those that think its way to much food. We always try to do one sit down meal during the day and then wing it the rest. Its nice but its just to much food..and it takes up a lot of time.

I don't think I could eat 3 TS meals in one day if I had too!
I am totally satisfied w/ 1 TS meal, 1 CS meal, & a snack.
We have done 2 TS meals in one day - 1 for breakfast & 1 for dinner, but we were extremely full at the end of the day!

We usually eat three table service meals a day. We do not do buffets though, and a few days we will do a counter service lunch. The meals are spaced out well. We do not do a lot of snacking at the parks so we are hungry every 4-5 hours. The counter service food just isnt that great to us, so we stick with full service meals.

No way. I try to keep it to just 1 per day, occasionally 2. If we do 2 sit down meals it would be breakfast and dinner. If we eat a heavy dinner, breakfast the next day is even too much. I couldn't imagine doing 3 meals a day. All you'd be doing on vacation is going restaurant to restaurant.

If you're curious to try a restaurant that's a la carte you could make an ADR and just have an appetizer or a desert. That gives you the opportunity to try the place without the full time commitment and you get a nice opportunity to rest.

We sometimes only do 3 a week. Too much structure for the way we like to tour the parks. And we are perfectly content with counter service. Living up North and going to WDW when it's cold we like to dine outdoors when possible.

We usually do only one TS meal a day, but sometimes will have 2 depending on when we can get reservations to our favorite places (like a breakfast and dinner, never back to back meals); 3 a day would be too much food for us. :hurl:

No, we don't. Are you interested in Deluxe Dining? Here is the thing about Deluxe Dining - you get to try a lot of Signature Dining restaurants which is a nice treat.

We usually grab a bagel or banana or something small and fast for bfast if we don't have a character bfast to go to. Then lunch is counter service. And we always do a table service for dinner. Talking about all these meals is making me hungry!! :slurp::slurp:

Ok, I'll stick out like a sore thumb and say that we do DDP, and eat 3 table service a day on many days. Not every day, because we do eat at some signature or show dinners that take 2 meals. At home I only eat maybe 2 meals a day...sometimes just one. But at Disney, I love to plan around the meals. I of course only eat a small portion of the food, but I love the dining experience, so we live it up for all its worth. We have been known toward the end of the trip to cancel a few meals just because we get so tired of eating. But I like having the option.

For me, the best meal plan would be 2 table service meals and 1 quick service every day. We are always sad that Disney doesn't off that one. But we are more than happy to do the DDP because it's our one time a year that we go all out for vacation! Other vacations we just eat granola bars and one restaurant meal a day.

I agree with everything you have said here.

I think on our next trip we might try just grabbing a snack for breakfast and then do an early TS lunch in the parks and then a nice signature meal for supper. This way you can choose to either stay in the park for supper or head to a resort.

This was more out of interest than something I was planning on doing. Usually we'll have a light breakfast (yogurt or pastry) and maybe 1 or 2 character breakfasts during a trip of 8 days. Then either a table service lunch and quickservice dinner or vice versa. If we have a really early table service lunch we might have a table service dinner too but not often. I'm a TIW member so I'm not interested in the dining plan.

Us too! granted we don't use the DDP but I think if we did, it would be too much food! last year we did a character breakfast for the first time and we were full until around 6.:lookaroun
