Exactly FLE imo is an added bonus while imo there is nothing special about a bunch of M&G's and a D ticket omnimover it is needed.

Look all I am saying is that we can't say as a fact no one will come just for FLE.I again do not think huge ammounts will come but that is a opinion only.

Yeah..roll your eyes because I am sure many of us here do whenever you post..

There are more then a few who could care less about HP I am sure..

Once again...you do not know for a FACT...look up what that means if you need too..that FLE will not add many people..so quit saying that you KNOW until you can prove it..once you can..feel free to do so.

:brick:

i dont care about HP much either...I read the first 5 books and thought they were good, tried watching the movies...i guess I should try again some time. They just never have interested me much.

I really hate typing that isn't everything we say our opinion?
Yes..but when you say "I know" or "people will or will not do something" you seem to be speaking for everyone else..and unless you can back it up you should really post IMO or "I think" or "I believe"

JMO..:shrug::wave:

Disney hasn't even started marketing the FLE yet!!

You folks are nuts if you don't think the FLE is going to be hugely successful. This is going to be the ultimate destination for little girls, and little girls bring FAMILIES.

The difference is, when the FLE is done, FAMILIES will be coming to Disney – multiple people, spending 4+ days on Disney property, planning full vacations around it. Families that may not have thought it was worth the expense before. And the impact of the FLE won't just be felt for 2-5 years; it'll have a lasting impact on the overall impression of the Magic Kingdom for years and years.

Potter will be incredibly successful for thrill seekers, people without young children, and locals for the next 2-5 years; then it'll be on to the next big thing. In 20 years, it'll be dead and gone.

The Princess franchise and FLE will be going strong when our kids have kids. While it may not have the big splash E-ticket ride, it'll be something that kids and families will enjoy for a very, very long time.

Little Mermaid is NOT a D ticket. It is pretty clearly categorized as an E up to the same level as Haunted Mansion. FLE is going to be a huge draw for Magic Kingdom, mostly because it's the first time in it's history that such a huge new area is added. The princess meet and greets as well as the Be Our Guest restaurant will be huge draws for the area but Little Mermaid is the pinnacle.

Still, do I think it will outdo Harry Potter? No, but it doesn't have to. All Disney has to do is add anything new and people will come, no matter what it is. Now that standard of quality may be a bit higher once people see how incredible Harry Potter is, but still, people will come to WDW no matter what, but adding new stuff is just another reason to come.

One thing I will give to Universal is that they are the best when it comes to building thrill rides. Mummy, Hulk, Spider-Man, Popeye and Bluto, MIB and Dudley Do-Right are all fantastic thrill rides and Forbidden Journey is sure to outdo them all. Disney makes some good ones, but the fact is Universal is better at immersion for their thrill rides.

Believe me, I love Everest, Test Track, the mountains, Mission: SPACE, Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller Coaster and Dinosaur as much as the next guy, but Universal overall is better at building thrill rides. They will haul in the older families and teens while Disney will bring in the families with younger children for Fantasyland. That's one thing that Disney needs to work on a bit is adding more for older audiences to do.

I disagree and agree with Lee and others here who are usualy right, when they say in is only a D.

I agree with you on the fact that FLE will be a big draw, but don't count on Harry Potter going away that quickly. It is an international phenomenon that isn't just going to disappear in a few years. Universal built this thing to be a long term draw to IOA and that's exactly what it will be. Plus, while the little girls will be going to Fantasyland, the little boys and older siblings will be going to Harry Potter.

Again... Usng princesses and targeting little girls does not bring families in. Disney has always targeted families as a whole, not a small, or specific part of a family.

FWIW, I think people are putting a little too much stock in the power of princesses. I've been reading that disney is panicking over the disney name being too heavily associated with Princesses, from blaming the word Princess being used in TPATF for it not doing as well as they thought it would to them changing the name of Repunzel to Tangled. That they want to get young males back into disney, seeing that's a huge market that everyone tries to target.

What is a D? What is an E? (Yes, I know all about the old ticketing system... blah, blah, blah) But this confuses me. What constitutes a certain letter?

Is it the thrill of the ride, how much money they spend on it, etc.

I'm so confused...
