Trip Report Disneymoon 16th Aug till 7th Sep 2013

Hello and Welcome to our Disneymoon trip report, our pre trip report can be found somewhere on here lol.

If you don't have time to read the ptr, here is a little bit about us.

Our names are Dana and Jon, both 25 years old. We got married on Saturday 3rd August 2013, at home in the Uk. Here is a picture of us both on our wedding day. (the sun is out for once, we were being blinded by the sun)

Since we couldn't get married in Disney, I had to have a Disney Dress :)

This is our second trip to Disney together and was an obvious choice for our Honeymoon as we both had such an amazing time in 2011. We waited 13 days to go to Disney to chill out from the wedding and have a build of excitement again.

We will try and update this every day so please watch this thread and let us know what you think. We hope you enjoy the journey with us.

As promised @figmentfan423 A tag so you didn't miss our report

Day 6
21st August 2013

Today we picked up the car. Last time we had a very ugly Chevrolet HHR which drove just like a hire car (Badly). We got up early (yet again) and got a taxi to the dolphin hotel to get to the car hire place. I forgot that I had swapped wallets and had left my driving licence and credit cards in my other wallet, opps. The lady behind the desk was very helpful and let Dana be the main driver then add me on as a extra free of charge. So even with my forgetfulness we still left the hotel with a shiny Nissan Versa in blue, it was a nice car, especially as we had only paid for a economy car and were expecting a tiny car not a medium sized saloon. This car unfortunately still drove like a hire car. It felt like the 12000 mile it had done were all on a rally track but oh well, it had 4 wheels and went from A to B so it was good enough for us.

We went back to the resort so I could pick up my driving licence before heading to Typhoon Lagoon. We both love water parks but prefer this one to blizzard beach because of A) the theme is much softer on the eyes and B) Crush n Gusher. Once we had got there and got a locker we went and met Stich as he was hanging around with a photographer. Dana was now very happy.

After this we went to Crush N Gusher and rode Banana Blaster. This was good as always.

Then we headed off to the shark reef as I had never done it before. I was a bit disappointed in this and Dana found it far too cold.

After this we headed to the wave pool to warm up.

We love spending time treading water out towards the end of the pool and used our new underwater camera loads. After this we went and rode Crush n Gusher a few times, we rode Coconut Crusher twice and Pineapple Plunger once.

We chilled out afterwards going round the lazy river. Then we rode Coconut Crusher again before getting changed. We wanted to have a sand pail as we wanted one last visit but never got one. We walked up to Typhoon Tilly’s Snack Shack to get a Sand Pail (Also known as a garbage pail). We rushed back to the car and eat it in the car. Luckily we hadn’t had lunch yet because it was huge, but between us we managed it, wahoo.

We headed back to the room around 12.45 so we could drop off our swim stuff. We chilled out a bit then left for universal at around 1.20. There was loads of traffic on the i4 and there was a burnt out car at the side of the road. We finally got parked at 2.30pm. We were now getting hungry for proper food and not just sugar so we stopped in on the Hard Rock Café as planned for lunch. We both shared the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Mac Chicken and Cheese. Dana also had a Mango Berry Cooler in a souvenir glass.

We both declined having a dessert believe it or not and headed in to the studios. On the last trip in June 2011 we loved Universal because it was so quiet, but this time because of Despicable Me and Transformers the studios were packed. We chose not to ride Despicable me with a wait of 70 minutes and Transformers with a wait of 50 Minutes, we quickly met Kevin (we think)

IMG_1337.jpg

before we headed over to the other side of the park and waited around 20 minutes to ride The Simpsons. We love this ride and it works well as a simulator because it is animated anyway. After surviving sideshow Bob we watched Animal Actors on Location, we got in just at the right time because during the show it rained a lot and then was dry right after. After this show we went on E.T. it’s a bit old fashioned but cool none the less. After ET we Dana met the girls from Despicable Me and had a picture with them.

We were now getting fed up of the huge crowds so left early in search of a Wal-Mart. We found one and got some water for the parks with a few other bits. Dana also had a emergency stop to the nail place as one of her nails got cracked during the day.

Back home :D

We headed back to the resort after this and since the weather wasn’t very good we decided to do some laundry and go to the Gym  and then had a early night.

We were so lucky to get that shot, the photographer was just standing there nobody else was having their picture taken. I am glad I recovered quickly as well and I am very happy that neither of us had any more incidents on the trip lol.

Thank you, we hope you continue reading :)

We are getting married in Nov. and honeymooning in Dec. How do I need to go about letting Disney know for our trip?
Call and have them add it to your reservation, or wait until you check in online and add it then. They will usually give you buttons when you check into the resort, but if not, you can get the buttons at DTD or any of the parks. I would definitely add it to your reservation before you go though. When we honeymooned back in 1998, they had a card waiting for us signed by Minnie and Mickey. Congratulations and have a great trip!!

Day 7
22nd August 2013 The best day of our Disneymoon

Today started off with a emergency trip to Walmart to exchange the car charger we had bought for the GPS as it didn’t work. We were then off to my early birthday present down in Dade city. We saw this on the way. When the GPS said we had arrived and we were in a residential area we were getting confused and worried all at the same time. But eventually we found the office we were meant to go to and found out that the zoo was not on this site but a short bus ride away. We waited for our 10.30 tour a bit nervously not knowing what to expect but as soon as we got to the zoo via the bus we were much happier. We had booked the swim with a tiger cub experience. We were so lucky as well because it was only us two on it. It was amazing. We had Reamington, who was a 10 week old white Bengal tiger. He was so cute and although he was a bit restless playing in the grass, as soon as he was in the water he didn’t want to get out. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who likes tigers or big cats. It was a bit out of the way but it was worth the travel and as part of the package we got a load of photos.

After our tour we headed back north to winter gardens to Theme Park Connections to try and get a replacement “Just Married” Pin, we had no luck. After this we headed to Downtown Disney for our first Earl of Sandwich. I had the Full Montegu with a Apple and Cinnamon muffin, while Dana had the Hawaiian BBQ with Grapes as a dessert. Both of these were good as always. We wouldn’t had normally had a dessert but since it was included in the dining plan we thought we might as well.

IMG_1345.jpg

After this we had our first Ghirardelli ice cream, I had the hot Brownie Sundae and Dana had a Caramel Quakeshake. We were a bit disappointed compared to how we remember it. They now serve all the desserts in plastic bowls etc rather than glass which kind of took away from the feel of the place and it just didn’t taste as good as we were hoping.

IMG_1348.jpg

So full now that we couldn’t move we headed back to the room to get changed before heading out to Hollywood Studios. We went on One Man’s Dream followed by Voyage of the little Mermaid. We then got some treats for Fantasmic from Sweet Spells. Dana had a Frozen Lemonade and a Mickey shaped plain marshmallow treat while I had some water and a oatmeal and raisin cookie.

IMG_1353.jpg

We headed down and watched Fantasmic. We enjoyed the show a lot and the pre-show entertainment was a lot better than it used to be. After this we attempted to find the car which took a while. It did teach us to pay more attention to where we parked and walk to the end of the row to find the number, lol. Once we had found the car we were glad we drove to the park as there was loads of parking at the front when we arrived and we didn’t have to wait for a bus. I would recommend driving to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom if you are getting there early morning or late afternoon, it is so much easier for these parks. We got home around 9.30 and went straight to bed.

He was soooooocute we wanted to keep him but don't think our cat would have liked that. The tour was amazing we would do it again.

I know the dining plan gave us so much food we are not used to eating as much.

More later tonight, thank you for reading :)
