Trip Report Disneymoon 16th Aug till 7th Sep 2013

Hello and Welcome to our Disneymoon trip report, our pre trip report can be found somewhere on here lol.

If you don't have time to read the ptr, here is a little bit about us.

Our names are Dana and Jon, both 25 years old. We got married on Saturday 3rd August 2013, at home in the Uk. Here is a picture of us both on our wedding day. (the sun is out for once, we were being blinded by the sun)

Wedding%20pic.jpg

Since we couldn't get married in Disney, I had to have a Disney Dress :)

This is our second trip to Disney together and was an obvious choice for our Honeymoon as we both had such an amazing time in 2011. We waited 13 days to go to Disney to chill out from the wedding and have a build of excitement again.

We will try and update this every day so please watch this thread and let us know what you think. We hope you enjoy the journey with us.

As promised @figmentfan423 A tag so you didn't miss our report

Day 3
Sunday 18th August 2013

Sunday we were up early, a common theme on this holiday, to get ready to go to Epcot. We both love Epcot mainly for Mission Space and Test Track. We got to the park at around 8.20 because we had almost no wait for a bus, it was so hot that day and we were trying to keep out of the sun by 8.30. Once they had started to let us in we walked straight over to Soarin and rode that which was a walk on at that time. We enjoyed that as always then headed over to Test Track to get a fastpass. We then had our first trip to Mars for 2 years, the orange version obviously.
We next headed over to the Character Spot before the line started getting to big.

We still had some time to kill before our fastpasses for Test Track so we headed back to the Land and watched the Circle Of Life. Dana was getting hungry so we went downstairs and got some breakfast at the sunshine seasons. We shared a Breakfast Platter, a bag of cheetos, a banana and a muffin.

Dana's Favourite - Cheetos yummy yummy yummy

To let this go down we had a relax on Living with the Land. It was now getting towards the end of our fast pass return time so we walked off to Test Track for our first go on the new Design Studio. It was cool the first time you do it but even with a fast pass it took around 30 minutes before we got through to the car. It would be nice to be able to skip the design studio without having to go through the single rider.

After this we had a walk round the world showcase, Dana decided she wanted to complete a passport so we started at Mexico, we went and rode the Grand Fiesta Tour which is a laugh and a nice place to cool off before meeting Donald.

Photo0201FourBySix.jpg

Photo0203FourBySix.jpg

Next up was Norway and we rode Maelstrom and also found out where Akershus was for later in the trip. We then carried on round to China, Germany, Italy, The American Adventure, Japan, Morocco, France. All of these countries/pavilions we had a look round the shops and then found where to get the passport filled in. Next up was UK, it’s always fun to see our culture from a different perspective, it seems like we drink tea and eat biscuits/cookies and fish and chips. While in the UK we met Pooh and Tiger.

Photo0219FourBySix.jpg

Finally we stopped at Canada and completed our passport, Yay another thing to tick off the long list of things we wanted to do. It was around 3pm now so we headed back to the resort to chill out for a bit before a visit to Magic Kingdom.

Day 3 continued

We left for Magic Kingdom and got there around 5.15pm and managed to get a picture outside main street station at the front of the park with no one in it at all, how lucky is that.

Photo0223FourBySix.jpg

We headed to guest services when we got in the park because our tickets had not been working in any of the fast pass machines for a few days. The lady there said we had to sort it out with our resort as it was a problem with the key to the world cards. To make up for this she gave us some fast pass slips which was very nice of her.

DSCF0182.jpg

We headed towards adventureland this time and we did some attractions we were not to fussed about but I had never done them. We first did the Swiss Family Tree House followed by the Enchanted Tiki Room. Both were cool in their own little way but not something you need to do more than once. We had dinning reservations at the Crystal Palace at 7pm so we went there to check in a little bit early. Another short wait later and we were in, we were so lucky because the second we sat down the worst rain I have ever seen came and most people were forced to hide. This was our first time eating here as well so it was a nice change. The food was very good and it was nice to have a wide variety to choose from. We both just had 2 small plates for a main

IMG_1273.jpg

IMG_1274.jpg

and a small dessert each after.

At this point we were stuffed but then our server bought out a small cupcake with a candle and then a card signed by all of the characters, it was really unexpected and so cool.

Magic Kingdom shut at 1am that night so the plan was to stay as late as possible. We obviously liked walking as we then headed to Buzz followed by Peter Pan’s Flight then back over to Pete’s Silly Sideshow to meet Daisy, Minnie, Donald and Goofy.

Photo0283FourBySix.jpg

We were just about to walk out of Big Top Souvenirs when the rain came back to haunt us. In the end we sat in the shop to wait for it to pass. We were worried because we had preferred fireworks viewing for this night and the rain didn’t let up. We were stuck in the shop for around an hour, but at least we were dry. 10pm came and went and we were still waiting. Luckily Wishes was delayed because of the weather. Around 10.15pm the rain stopped to a reasonable amount and we walked through tomorrowland terrace to get to the preferred location. No one was there, not even anyone to check your tickets. We managed to get a seat at the railing and the rain stopped. Wishes Started around 10.45ish and Jon had his first attempt of firework photography with no tripod, it wasn’t very successful but it was a start.

DSC_1971.jpg

We both love Wishes and could watch it every night if we could so it was nice to have a bit of space even if a tree was blocking the view a bit.
After Wishes we went and rode Winnie the Pooh followed by Philarmagic and the Haunted Mansion. We had been waiting to do this at night so we could get the full effect.

A quick picture on the way out

Photo0287FourBySix.jpg

After this we were Tired, it had been a long day, so we went home on the Sleep wagon, I mean bus. We don’t know why all of the lights are turned off, its soo hard to stay awake. We got back around 12.45am and fell straight asleep

Day 4 tomorrow

Day 4 Part 1
19th August 2013

Today was a Hollywood Studios day. We got up early and headed for the park. The bus arrived at just gone 8am so we were really early to the park. As we had plenty of time we got some pictures in front of the Monsters University garden display and with Minnie and Donald and Daisy.Annoyingly the photographer had condensation on his lens on the Minnie pictures and they did not come out well.

Photo0312FourBySix.jpg

We got let in to the park at 8.45 and headed straight for Toy Story Midway Mania, we got a fast pass and then rode the stand by. We both love this ride and it is always close which makes it more fun. After this we went out by the sorcerers hat and got pictures with Stitch and Chip n Dale.

Photo0322FourBySix.jpg

Photo0327FourBySix.jpg

After this we headed back to the front of the park to get our tickets sorted as the fast passes still wouldn’t work. The very very pregnant lady was able to help us as our comp ticket had been assigned to our magnetic strip and we were obviously checking in to the park using RFID card so the fast pass machine kept thinking we were not in the park and our ticket had been used, Oh well it was fixed with 2 new cards. Thank you very much to a very helpful cast member. We were starting to get a bit hungry at this point so we headed to Sweet Spells and I got a oatmeal and raisin cookie. It was amazing!.

IMG_1298.jpg

After the sugar levels were all sorted we headed to meet Sofia the 1st as requested by our Flower Girl from the wedding. We bought her a blank autograph book and got Sofia’s signature. We gave this to her to fill up as she is going to Disney Cruise later this year.

Photo0347FourBySix.jpg

We needed to cool off at this point as it was very hot so we had a sit down in the Magic of Disney Animation. After this we met Wreck-It Ralf.

Photo0350FourBySix.jpg

We had a wander back to use our fastpasses for Toy Story, another close game and a good work out at the same time. After all of the calories we had burnt we needed food, off to staring rolls we went to see what they could offer. There was loads of sweet treats but we just shared a chocolate croissant

IMG_1296.jpg

Although I (Dana) wanted this

IMG_1293.jpg

We then headed to watch the beauty and the beast show, we only just made it in time before all of the shaded seats had gone but we managed to find a couple of spare to hide out from the sun.

DSC_2058.jpg

That finished at 12.20 and the park was starting to get busy so we headed out of the park to catch the boat to boardwalk.

Day 4 part 2

We decided to get off of the Boat at the swan and dolphin resort and walk round, much quicker than waiting for the boat to get there. We had a look in all of the shops on boardwalk before having lunch at the boardwalk bakery around 1.30pm. Dana had a sandwich with chips and a Mickey chocolate pastry cake thing. I had a sandwich with chips and a raspberry and cheese Danish.

IMG_1301.jpg

IMG_1304.jpg

Dana was very naughty and fed the ducks, we can only say she made a new friend.

IMG_1307.jpg

While we were eating we had a choice, we had planned to head back to the hotel for a while to chill out before heading back to Hollywood Studios, but that meant wasting a lot of time getting back to a park to get the bus back to the resort. We decided to have a long day and headed back to Hollywood Studios. After a short trip on the boat back to Hollywood Studios we saw the Backlot Tour which was good as we had never seen it. Followed by Lights Motors Action.

We love that show and could watch it again and again. After this show we had a wonder around the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. It was like being Tigger, Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy, the floor was so bouncy. We didn’t stay long as it was packed with real kids not just the young at heart. After this we got some fast passes for Star Tours before walking on as there was no wait. This was good as always and we both love simulator rides. After this was the Great Movie Ride, as cheesey as always but still a good laugh. We then went back to star tours to use our fastpasses and annoyingly we had the exact same ride, what rotten luck, it was still good though. It was now time for our dinner at Mama Melrose. We checked in 15 minutes early as normal but had to wait for around 30 minutes before they could seat us. I had the oven baked chicken alla parmigiana while Dana had carne D’italia flatbread.

IMG_1313.jpg

IMG_1312.jpg

Dana said half way though that the sausage tasted a bit funny and started picking it off for the rest but other than that the meal was very good, we both just had some gelato for dessert as we were not that hungry, one chocolate and one vanilla. We got complimentary sparkling wine as we were celebrating our honeymoon :)

IMG_1314.jpg

By this time and after 12 hours out at a park we were exhausted so we decided to miss Fantasmic and head home, on the way out Dana wanted to get this .......

IMG_0009.jpg

We, left HS and we were back at the resort by 9.30 and in bed by 10pm.

Congratulations on your marriage! I agree with everyone else -- your gown was GORGEOUS and you looked amazing! I also loved the top hat on your Groom! Awesome.

And what a way to Honeymoon! Your room looks lovely. I don't think I've seen many pictures of Old Key West -- your photos show it to be a really pretty place! It also looks as if you guys had a great time. We were also there in August (the 17th -27th) so we may have passed you all at some point! We almost got into Lights, Motors, Action on our last day there, but opted not to stand in the super hot and long line while they worked out their technical difficulties. Maybe we will get there next trip!

Can't wait to hear more!!

Thank you, yes I like the top hat as well :)

The hotel and our room were very nice, we defiantly noticed a difference to OKW and All start sports. We
Probably did, keep a look out for your family in our pictures :)

Hopefully you get to see LMA before it goes :( a cast member told us that he doesn't think it will be there much longer, as soon as the end of this year it may close. But nobody knows for sure.

Thank you for reading day 5 tomorrow :)

Magic Ducks, There is a funny picture of a duck later on in our trip :)

Day 5
20th August 2013

We were up early again today for a trip to animal kingdom, we were a bit disappointed that they no longer did the opening show but oh well, when we got in we headed straight for Kilimanjaro safaris so we could catch the animals before it got to hot. A lot of animals were out but it is always hard to get any good pictures on the ride.

DSC_2263.jpg

DSC_2292.jpg

After this we got breakfast from the quick service counter next to Tusker House, Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery. I had a croissant and Dana had a blueberry muffin. After this we went and got fast passes for Exhibition Everest before heading to see Flights of Wonder.

DSC_2346.jpg

I quite liked this show but this is where the day went wrong. After the show Dana said she felt really hot and needed to lay down, no longer then a second after she said she had to get somewhere cooler so she tried to exit the theatre but fainted on the way out. I earned some major brownie points when I put her in the recovery position while we waited for the paramedics, by the time they had turned up Dana was ok again. They said they thought it was dehydration and sent us on our way, Dana wasn’t happy about the wheel chair they gave us and I was just plain dangerous driving it. We went to the first aid area and cooled off with a few bottles of water for around a hour. We tried to leave the park but Dana wasn’t well again but after that we finally managed to get back to the hotel. Dana kept on drinking water but this didn’t seem to help, she just couldn’t keep it down. I was starting to think of a trip to the hospital at this point when a packet of cheetos came to the rescue, she started off by just having a few with some water then built on that. A few hours later she was as good as fixed but just with a few cuts and grazes. We think it can only be food poisoning as she was unable to even keep down water but we will never know and at least we only lost that one day and not a lot longer so were lucky in a way. I would like to just say a big thank you to everyone who helped us that day at the park as it made all the difference. By 5pm Dana was starting to feel normal and insisted we didn’t miss our dining reservations at Akershus that night so we went off to Epcot around 5.30. We rode Spaceship Earth as we walked in to the park because we knew that it was closing for a refurbishment and wanted to make sure we went on it. Then it was time for our meal so we headed to Norway and to Akershus getting a Magic Shot on the way.

Photo0363FourBySix.jpg

Photo0361FourBySix.jpg

(by the look of the pictures you cant tell that I (Dana) was unwell at all, but it was the worst I have ever felt, I am sure it was the pizza from mama Melrose the night before)

IMG_1322.jpg

We got a small plate each from the buffet for a starter

DSC04323.jpg

DSC04324.jpg

then I had the Traditional Kjottkake and Dana had the Grilled Pork Tenderloin. Both of these were amazing.

DSC04333.jpg

DSC04334.jpg

Out of the desserts we didn’t have the Rice Cream and shared the Apple Cake and the Chocolate Mousse.

DSC04337.jpg

After we had finished we headed over to the Epcot Preferred Fireworks Viewing area, it was only us and another few people, it was amazing, we just sat on the floor at the edge and watched it in comfort through the railings. I had learnt by my first attempt of fireworks photos and used a sturdier support for my camera (still no tripod). We both enjoyed the show, we personally prefer wishes but this was still really cool.

DSC_2477.jpg

Epcot was open until 11pm that night so we walked on some of the quieter attractions after illuminations. We rode The Seas With Nemo and Friends, followed by Turtle Talk with Crush.

DSC_2494.jpg

DSC_2496.jpg

Then we went and rode Journey into Imagination with Figment.

IMG_1325.jpg

This was so cool and the song was really funny catchy and annoying at the same time. We then looked around Imageworks followed by watching Captain EO. We both found Captain EO long and dull but some people love it. It was now just gone 11pm so time to slowly wander back to get the bus home. It turned out to be quite a good end to a day which could have been so bad.

Thank you for reading
