Trip Report Disneymoon 16th Aug till 7th Sep 2013

Hello and Welcome to our Disneymoon trip report, our pre trip report can be found somewhere on here lol.

If you don't have time to read the ptr, here is a little bit about us.

Our names are Dana and Jon, both 25 years old. We got married on Saturday 3rd August 2013, at home in the Uk. Here is a picture of us both on our wedding day. (the sun is out for once, we were being blinded by the sun)

Wedding%20pic.jpg

Since we couldn't get married in Disney, I had to have a Disney Dress :)

This is our second trip to Disney together and was an obvious choice for our Honeymoon as we both had such an amazing time in 2011. We waited 13 days to go to Disney to chill out from the wedding and have a build of excitement again.

We will try and update this every day so please watch this thread and let us know what you think. We hope you enjoy the journey with us.

As promised @figmentfan423 A tag so you didn't miss our report

Day 8
23rd August 2013

We were up early (yet again) to Islands of adventure today. We arrived there at around 8.30 and when we were let in the park we headed straight towards Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. We have been on this ride before and although the wait times can be quite bad it is well worth the wait. Even getting there at this time we had about an hour wait. After this we were ready for breakfast so we shared the Pancake Breakfast at the Three Broomsticks between us.

IMG_1355.jpg

The crowds were already getting bad so we decided to get the 2 park express pass and do all of the rides between the park in one day. We headed to a kiosk outside Jurassic Park to get the passes then headed back and rode Flight of the Hippogriff. This is a cool little rollercoaster and a perfect start for people who are not keen on them. We then headed back to Jurassic Park River Adventure and rode that. We didn’t get very wet which was good and we both enjoyed that. We decided to not ride Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges or Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls as we didn’t want to get wet and we have done both of these before. We then headed and rode The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman followed by Storm Force Acceleration. We loved the new Spiderman and the HD has made all of the difference. After these we rode The Cat in The Hat, which is a bit of a laugh. Half way though now and we headed over to Universal Studios. First stop was Minion Mayhem, we both loved this ride as we like the films and it was so funny. I was also surprised how much they threw you around given you were not restrained. After this was the next new ride for us which was Transformers. It was good but it was too similar to Spiderman for us and having just done that ride it was not quite as good as we were hoping. After this we rode Disaster followed by Men In Black and the Simpsons. we then stopped for a bite to eat from the American Dinner, we shared the Chicken Nuggets. After this we saw Twister and then went on The Mummy. By this time we were tired as we pretty much didn’t stop at all during the day (Hence there are no pictures), but we had done it, all of the rides we wanted to do between the two parks in one day. we headed back and got some fuel for the car on the way.
After a quick stop in at the resort we headed out to magic kingdom. We got some Fastpasses for the barnstormer before riding the Teacup ride again, we then rode the Barnstormer. After this we wandered towards the castle and just had time to watch Philarmagic before we checked in for our dinning reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table. After a little wait we were seated and had a great view out of the back of the castle towards the Beast’s Castle.

I had the shrimp to start and Dana had the Cheese board.

IMG_1361.jpg

For a main I had the Steak while Dana had the Pork.

IMG_1365.jpg

IMG_1364.jpg

Then for dessert we shared a Cream Brulee and the signature desert.

DSC04343.jpg

We both realised after this meal that it is well worth using the 2 Credits for the food alone and would recommend it to anyone on the dinning plan as then it also frees up another night where you might not want a table service meal.
After the meal we watched wishes

from the centre of the hub then stayed to watch the second showing of celebrate the Magic. The second showing of Celebrate the Magic was so quiet as most people had already started to leave the park, we managed to sit down and still get an unobstructed view. After this we left for the hotel and were back there by 11 as the buses had quietened down by this point.

Day 9
24th August 2013

We headed down to Busch Gardens today. We enjoyed it last time we were there but we both find the park can get so hot. We had been given a mission to try and find a new toy Cheater for a friend, after a little while we found where we could get it and then left buying it until we left. While in that area we had a look at the Cheaters on the run before walking back to get the train through the savannah.

DSC_2929.jpg

We got on the train at Nairobi and got off at Congo.

DSC_2964.jpg

DSC_2939.jpg

We had a look at the Tigers while we were there before wandering back through Timbuktu.

DSC_2993.jpg

DSC_3020.jpg

We had a look in the Animal care centre before our 11.30 safari. We had a ice cream before our safari just to keep us going.

DSC_3029.jpg

The Safari was good but not as good as last time, we don’t know if it is just the guide or what but we just didn’t seem to have as much time on the tour and the pictures were not as good as last time.

DSC_3080.jpg

DSC_3088.jpg

After our safari we had a look at the lions before stopping in at Sultans Sweets for a Chocolate Truffle Cake which was amazing. After this we were getting to hot so decided to get the soft toy we needed and go.

IMG_1366.jpg

We drove back and stopped at a hooters kind of on the way as we were hungry and I was getting tired from the driving. We ended up stopping at the Lakeland one. We had never eaten in one before but Dana wanted to get a T-Shirt so we gave it a try. We were shocked at how good the food was and it was cheap compared to the theme park prices. We shared some Curly Fries some Chicken Tenders in Mild dressing and some Mozzarella Sticks. Dana Bought a T-shirt and we drove back home.

IMG_1368.jpg

We also had a small accident with our sweets for the journey.

IMG_0029.jpg

After a quick pit stop to freshen up we decided to go to Downtown Disney went in to Disney Quest. I liked it in here but it was too busy for me, we decided after a while that we should come back when it was quiet. We had a look around the shops and Dana got a Vinalmation before our reservations at the House of Blues. Dana had the Three Cheese Pasta and I had the Chicken Sandwich. For dessert we just shared some Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream. The food was really good and the theme was good as well so we both enjoyed our dinner. After this we drove home. We saw in the car park the most well protected parking space, it had around 50 barriers and all of the lights were flashing on it, we thought it was funny. A Video can be found here....

Day 10
25th August 2013

Today started with a Character breakfast at Cape May Café. We had reservations for 7.30 so it was another early start.

IMG_1371.jpg

This did mean that we could take our time with breakfast and still make park opening. We both just had a couple of small plates each. We also got a card for our honeymoon and a Chocolate Cupcake (it was far too early for this) which we saved for later. Breakfast here was really good. All of the food was fresh and there was lots of choice.

After breakfast we decided to go to Animal Kingdom instead of Hollywood Studios as planned to make up for the day we lost. We got there around 8.40 so with plenty of time left so we got a few photos on the way in.

Photo0391FourBySix.jpg

Once in the park we decided to see Dug and Russell as there was hardly any wait.

Photo0415FourBySix.jpg

After that we walked over to Primevil Whirl and rode that, it was cool we both love that ride. After this we rode Dinosoar and got the photo.

Photo0416FourBySix.jpg

Then we met Pluto and Goofy.

Photo0426FourBySix.jpg

We then stopped in and met Pooh and Tiger on the way back to discovery island, it was really cool as we were the only two people at this section so they gave us loads of attention.

Photo0434FourBySix.jpg

Photo0455FourBySix.jpg

We then went and met Minnie and Mickey, there was a bit of a wait for this (30 minutes) but we hadn’t had to wait all day so that was fine.

Photo0467FourBySix.jpg

We then went to get fast passes for Expedition Everest but as we walked to get them a random guest gave us two as he was off to lunch, thank you very much (although he didn’t seem happy about not getting to ride it). We rode Expedition Everest which we both enjoyed this time

Photo0476FourBySix.jpg

Quick stop along the way .....

Photo0483FourBySix.jpg

we were heading to Rafiki’s Planet Watch next via the train. We managed to meet Rafiki and had a look around before heading back to the main section of the park.

DSC_3125.jpg

We wandered towards camp Minnie-Mickey and got a Ice Cream Sandwich on the way from the kiosk, it was very good but a lot to eat even between two of us.

At camp Minnie-Mickey we met Baloo and King Louie followed by Donald then Chip and Dale.

Photo0493FourBySix.jpg

Photo0516FourBySix.jpg

After this we watched the festival of the Lion King which was really cool and I had not seen it before.

IMG_1392.jpg

We then went in hunt for a Mac n Cheese Dog which we found a restaurantasorus using the Lines App. We split between us a Man n Cheese Dog and Chicken Nuggets, we both had a chocolate mousse for dessert. The food here was really good and there was a cast member there who came and chatted to us and made us feel really special so thank you very much. After this we headed back to the room to freshen up and rest for a bit.

IMG_1393.jpg

We headed off towards Epcot at around 4.15pm so we could do some attractions before our dinner reservations at Via Napoli.

Photo0524FourBySix.jpg

We first had a look around innoventions as last trip we completely missed them out. A few bits and pieces are cool but the Sum of All Thrills looks far too scary for us. We then rode Mission Space Orange as its one of our favourite rides and normally there is no wait. After this we watched the Universe of Energy. I thought this was ok and it didn’t seem to drag even though it is so long. I think Dana was just in a day dream. After this I was a little bit peckish so we headed over to Sunshine Seasons and I got a Oatmeal and rasin cookie, Dana had a M n M Cookie and we shared a hot chocolate.

IMG_1398.jpg

IMG_1399.jpg

Once we had eaten a bit we took the boat over to Germany before checking in to via Napoli at around 7.30pm. The whole restaurant here is really good with food and theme (just like all of world showcase) Dana had a Quattro Frommagii Pizza with mushrooms and a Blood Orange Cooler. I had a Pepperoni Pizza and some water.

IMG_1404.jpg

IMG_1405.jpg

IMG_1403.jpg

We declined Dessert here but they bought out one anyway when they sung us a congratulation song for our honeymoon which was very nice.

IMG_1407.jpg

After this we decided to head to Magic Kingdom as it shut later then Epcot. We got the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Centre before changing trains to get to Magic Kingdom. We headed straight for Big Thunder as wishes was going to be on soon, it was a Walk on and we rode it 3 times while wishes was going on. We then wandered to the other side of the park and rode Buzz before going on the People Mover.

Photo0531FourBySix.jpg

We then got the bus back to the Hotel.

Day 11

26th August 2013
Today we headed off to Seaworld, we had a bit of a lie in but still got there for around 10, we got some breakfast at the Seafire inn before heading to ride the Empire of the Penguin. The ride was ok but we made the mistake of not spending the time then when we wanted to see the penguins. We later found out that the only way to see the penguins was to wait in that line for the ride and then ask to not ride it, apparently it is to cool of your body temperature. The problem was that the ride had an hour wait after we had been on it so we could justify waiting an hour just to see the penguins. We then headed over to watch Turtle trek which was really cool and then we saw Blue Horizons which was good as well.

After this we had lunch at the Terrace Buffet

IMG_0034.jpg

IMG_0035.jpg

This was a squirrel that came up to Dana and Begged her for food. She gave it some of her pizza crust.

IMG_1409.jpg

A little boy saw Dana feeding the Squirrel, so he offered the Squirrel a cookie, The Squirrel took the whole cookie and ran off. It was amazing so funny. We wish we had videoed it.

Up next we went to watch One Ocean, unfortunately the show got cancelled because of thunder storms in the area. At this point it was really raining so we decided to poncho up and get back, we almost ran to the car and then stopped in to publix to get a few bits. Dana had another emergency nail appointment as one had cracked again. After this we headed back to the room and did some laundry before driving to Hollywood Studios.

Photo0533FourBySix.jpg

We rode Star Tours and we had the same ride again but it was still good. We asked someone about the ride and they said it randomly picks for each time you ride, we just must be unlucky. It was now time for our dinner which we had at 50s Prime Time. I had the Chicken Pot Pie while Dana had the Fried Chicken.

IMG_1411.jpg

IMG_1413.jpg

IMG_1412.jpg

For dessert we shared a Apple Crisp and a Brownie Sundae.

IMG_1415.jpg

IMG_1416.jpg

The food was good and the server was really funny. We were sat in the British Corner as everyone around seemed to be from the UK. Now completely stuff we headed back to the resort and we were in bed by 10.

Still enjoying the TR. Love the pics, and it is nice to see the pics from Busch Gardens and SeaWorld. Love, love, love the pic of the dolphins in mid jump. Great timing. This is a much more active trip than we usually take, but does bring back memories of an earlier time when we were much more adventurous. Thanks for sharing!
