Trip Report Disneymoon 16th Aug till 7th Sep 2013

Hello and Welcome to our Disneymoon trip report, our pre trip report can be found somewhere on here lol.

If you don't have time to read the ptr, here is a little bit about us.

Our names are Dana and Jon, both 25 years old. We got married on Saturday 3rd August 2013, at home in the Uk. Here is a picture of us both on our wedding day. (the sun is out for once, we were being blinded by the sun)

Wedding%20pic.jpg

Since we couldn't get married in Disney, I had to have a Disney Dress :)

This is our second trip to Disney together and was an obvious choice for our Honeymoon as we both had such an amazing time in 2011. We waited 13 days to go to Disney to chill out from the wedding and have a build of excitement again.

We will try and update this every day so please watch this thread and let us know what you think. We hope you enjoy the journey with us.

As promised @figmentfan423 A tag so you didn't miss our report

With the Vacation drawing to a close now, we got up early and headed to Animal Kingdom to get to our breakfast reservations at Tusker House,

it was really nice to get in to the parks with almost no people in and just to see the little details you miss when the crowds were there. We didn’t have long to wait before we were seated and our server was really good, it was his first day we found out and you could see how hard he was working and we couldn’t fault him at all. The food was good just like the rest of the Character Breakfasts and the characters were cool. We both just had a few small plates before hitting the park. Now full we went and rode it’s tough to be a bug. This was cool, we found all day that there were no crowds at all, it was almost too quiet if that’s possible, it kinda felt a bit haunted until about 12 when it was a bit busier. After this we rode expedition Everest, it was just before 10am and we literally walked straight on.

Photo0704FourBySix.jpg

After this we rode Primevil whirl twice as it is so cool. We then headed over and looked around the Maharajah Trek and the Pagani Trail before watching Nemo the Musical. We hadn’t seen this before and it was a lot better than I expected, so its defiantly worth a go at least once. Once we had seen this we had lunch at Pizzafari, we split one Cheese Pizza and one Pepperoni Pizza.

IMG_1565.jpg

Once we were fuelled and ready we dropped out items in a locker at the front of the park and headed for our wild Africa tour at 2.30. the tour guides were really cool and they made the tour a right laugh and we enjoyed every minute of it. We would recommend this tour as you get to see the savannah in so much more detail and you learn loads of cool info.

Once our tour was finished at 5.30 we got our stuff from the front of the park and left as the park closed at 5pm that day. we stopped at the room before heading to Magic Kingdom for the last time this trip :( We can’t complain really as we were 21 days into the trip and it did have to end some when. We got in the park and were getting hungry so we headed for Cosmic Rays, I had the Chicken Burger and Dana had the Hot Dog, for dessert we both had the chocolate cake.

IMG_1568.jpg

The food here is good for a QS meal and there is more choice here than other places. After this we had our last chance to beat zurg and become a Galatic hero. Half way through the second room I looked at my score and I had done it wahoo. It was a bit of a shock really and I didn’t know what to do after so just sat back and relaxed. When getting the picture Dana told the guy behind the counter and I didn’t realise but the presented me with a badge and made a big deal of it, how cool.

IMG_0047.jpg

After this we watched Philarmagic for the last time this trip before attempting to get a storybook treats, it was shut so I had to settle with a ice cream from the place in tomorrowland.

IMG_1569.jpg

We headed out of the park early and got the monorail to the Polynesian to watch wishes. We were just in time and only missed about 30 seconds of it, the beach was empty other than us and you get a really good view. We watched the fireworks sat on the beach before walking along to the Grand Floridian to have a look around.

IMG_1576.jpg

I was still unsure of the DVC at this point and it had been bugging me all day, Dana was fed up with asking me what I was thinking of doing and my indecisiveness was annoying her as well. We got the monorail back to Magic Kingdom and headed home.

Thank you for reading

Day 22
6th September 2013

Today started with us checking out and checking in, because we were staying 22 nights in the same resort they had to make it in 2 reservations because they cannot have a reservation longer than 21 nights, Strange but 30 minutes later it was sorted and we were ready for the last full day. Goods food to go didn’t have any pastry’s by this point so I got a cookie to keep me going until we could get some breakfast. We headed off to Epcot because we love this park, we had originally planned to do Magic Kingdom on the 6th and Epcot on the 5th but because of the Night of Joy we decided to change it around. We went in to the land and rode Soarin before getting some breakfast from the sunshine seasons, we then went over the other side and rode Test Track using the DVC card we had.

Before riding Mission Space Orange which was a walk on. After this we got a Taxi to Downtown Disney to pick up what we needed to as time was short. We bought all of the presents we had decided to buy before having a Earl of Sandwich for Lunch. After this we had our Last Ghirardelli

IMG_1586.jpg

before catching the learner boat all the way from Market place to OKW. We were lucky because if we didn’t get on this training boat we would have had to change at the west side before going to OKW and we were already a bit late. We got to our room and the red van was waiting for us. We quickly dumped our stuff before heading to Saratoga to meet with Manny again about the DVC. It took us ages because we were asking so many questions but eventually we had our own extremely tiny piece of the Grand Floridian Villas.

We got dropped back at the room so we could sort out the stuff and waited in the room while it was raining, the rain didn’t let up so we headed for the bus stop under ponchos so that we didn’t miss one of our favourite meals at the Garden Grill. We got to Epcot and it was still raining so still under ponchos we headed for the land. It didn’t take very long to get seated, just enough time to dry off and warm up. The food as always was amazing and the characters really spent time with us which was cool as we are just big kids.

Above chocolate mousse cake is a honeymoon treat from the garden grill.

After the meal we left, it had stopped raining but we were sad as this was the last of the parks we would see.

Day 23
7th September 2013

No one like's the last day of the vacation but at least we were not as sad as we knew we would be coming back now. Our flight home had already been delayed by 3 hours at this point but we decided to just get the same Magical Express to the airport. We packed and got bell services to help us as we had 2 cases each and 2 pieces of hand luggage each. We chilled out in the community halls for a while after this before getting some lunch at Olivia’s.

then we chilled out in the library until our coach turned up to take us away.

IMG_1597.jpg

We checked in and we got give a meal voucher as our flight was delayed . we got a hotdog and fries to share with some mozzarella sticks and some ice cream each, it’s amazing how far $18 can go outside of the theme parks.

Thanks for sharing. Will be interesting to see how DVC works out for you as a UK resident as you say - you do own a bit of Disney now.

Rather than comment on every post I read I decided to wait until the end. This was fabulous. I loved all your pics. How exciting you got pics with (I think) every character. LOL...The fainting spell sounds very scary. How horrible to feel that way especially not at home. So glad it didn't last. My boyfriend surprised me last yr at Christmas with playing with baby tiger cubs. It was truly the best experience ever. Loved seeing those pics. You guys look great and very happy.

Thank you,we are glad you enjoyed reading :)

We tried, there was still a lot that we didn't see lol. At least Jon was there to help me, it wasn't nice but at least it didn't last 2 long. We had an amazing time the whole trip. The tiger cub was the best thing we have done, we both would love to do it again. We will do another trip report next year :)

That was a great trip report and I'm sad it's over! I can't wait to read the next one, have you got booked yet? :)

Thank you, we will do another report next year and try and tag everyone that read this TR.

We have provisional dates 21st August till 5th September. We have booked a 1 bedroom from 21st till 25th at grand Floridian but will change this to beach club if avaliable. And we have booked a 1 bedroom from 31st August till 5th September at the grand Floridian which we will change to bay lake if that's avaliable. We booked the grand just to make sure we have something if we can't get the other resorts. We will be going with my sister and her boyfriend. The middle part we are planning to stay at a villa. We are just waiting on my sisters Uni dates to be confirmed before we book villa/flights. Will let you all know if this trip happens, if not Jon and I will probably go October/November to do MNSSHP.

:)

Wow, fun trip report. You two really have an active trip. We used to be that way but are more relaxed in our trips now (see our trip report for a different perspective). We hope to try all the DVCs except maybe Hawaii, I'm just not terribly interested in Hawaii. So far we have stayed at BWV, BCV, OKW, SSR, VWL twice, BLT, Vero Beach and are headed to HHI in Dec. Favorite so far is VWL, just because we like the whole feel of the WL area and its location, plus Hidden Springs pool at VWL is probably my favorite place at all of WDW on a quiet, restful morning. This last trip to BLT in Sept. was our 31st anniversary. Good place to celebrate anniversaries, at WDW. We'll try those VGF villas someday as well, and hopefully AKLV too. Might even try the treehouses.
Anyway thank you for a fun Trip Report with lots of great photos. Hope you have many, many more wonderful years and wonderful trips.

Thank you for reading :) we will check out your trip report. We want to collect something small from each resort we stay at. Anything you can suggest? Something branded so we know which resort we have Stayed at each time.

We will be back next year celebrating our anniversary, taking my sister and her boyfriend as well which will be nice.

Thank you again for reading and we are glad u enjoyed all the pictures :)

Sorry, I'm not much help with collecting. In 31 years of going to WDW about the only thing we have collected are memories and photographs. I have a friend who does their kitchen in Disney stuff and has added to their kitchen collection over the years, but none of it is resort specific. We have a few small Disney items scattered about the house, but nothing you would call a collection.
Hope next year's trip is a wonderful trip.
