Thursday night was a Grad Nite and Disneyland closed at 9PM, so no fireworks. Tonight is a regular Friday and Disneyland is open until Midnight now every night through the end of summer (except for the three remaining Grad Nites).

With the continual Midnight closing times, there should be Magical soft openings tonight, Saturday night, and all nights except Grad Nites until the official start of Nightastic! on June 12th.

Expect more reports online tonight around 9:45PM Pacific time.

I LOVE when DL closes at midnight! you can really rack up attractions after the fireworks. lol and Tomorrowland Terrace is always enjoyable even before Summer Nightastic its always a blast to be there last at night.

Screamscape has a full length video up, that shows Dumbo in his entirety. And he is spectacular. i want him in WDW. NOW!
Seems to be the consensus...

Hmm IDK the Tink/Dumbo wire would be pretty hard to do at MK well I guess you could do it with the current set up but then there would be about 8 or more wires coming out of the castle. :lookaroun and I dont think the rig thing would be able to fit inside the turret... plus i already think its funny seeing tink fly out of the castle.lol

More pyro tonite. Tink and dumbo didn't fly
Awww lol great to hear about more pyro though!

Incase you missed it heres a few great articles on the new puppets for Summer Nightastic!

Me too! I'm a night person anyway, and there's just nothing more pleasant than a summer night at Disneyland. I always enjoy watching the kids dance at Tomorrowland Terrace on summer evenings, just to keep up on what the latest SoCal teen dance crazes are. And on occasion I'll get some friends to join me on the dancefloor and show the kids the moves from the 20th century! But I also enjoy watching the swing dancing crowd dance to the Disneyland Orchestra at Carnation Plaza Gardens, it's just one of those things where you know everything is right with the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hzl5mjcGJk&feature=related

That's one thing that I just don't get about the tired old Magic Kingdom VS. Disneyland thing; how come there is never any dancing at Magic Kingdom??? It looks like they originally tried to create a dancefloor at their indoor Tomorrowland Terrace there, but they gave up on it. And I can't think of any other place in any other WDW theme park where they have bands and dancing under the stars, or in air conditioned comfort due to the Florida climate. But on any average weekend, and every night in summer, Disneyland has not one, but two swingin' dancefloors going full blast until Midnight. So why is the Magic Kingdom such a dud when it comes to dancing? It's popular at Disneyland, and would seem like such a cheap thing to implement out in the Florida parks.

Just 7 days until Summer Nightastic! starts! :sohappy:

MK has some character ones during the Halloween and Christmas parties at Ariels Grotto and at Cosmic Rays, but extra admission for the parties is needed something even as a CM at the time I didnt want to pay more even if it was a discounted price...

I'v always wanted to see the swing dancing at Carnation but I'm never there on the days that there doing it :( I'v heard though theres some guests that go all the way back to when DL first opened.

As for Summer Nightastic!:sohappy: anyone see some of the parade light towers. Wow! lots going on there.

If you take a look from the bottom up, Im pretty sure this is what each is for, the first 2 rows are the standard lights, then the clear one is the strobe for Remember, then Celebrate! A Street Party added the 2 on the right, and Magical adds the light on the far left as well as a huge confetti cannon.

I love the opening when they start lighting up the castle, its really like the quote from the commercial "see the night in a whole new light" lol
speaking of lights I love the castle lighting keeps getting improved well not really the the LEDs but and the new sparkle ones.

This show is amazing. Glad they added in more Pyro.

Hope we get it in WDW...

Great YouTube videos. As someone who saw the Saturday night show from the top of Main Street USA near the Kodak store, I can assure everyone that this new show looks 10 times better in person than it does on our computer screens. WOW!

What is so great about the Castle lighting, plus the Tinkerbell and Dumbo flights, is that it perfectly meshes technology and storytelling together so that you focus more on the story because of the technology. (Does that make sense?)

It's not just high-tech gizmos for the sake of using high-tech gizmos. It's allowed them to plus up the story and the emotion without overpowering it. And gosh darn it if it also doesn't look cool, like a real TV commercial brought to life!

I rarely bring up Walt because who knows what he would think of this modern age we live in and how the parks are operated now. But, I can be fairly confident that if Walt saw the new Magical fireworks show at Disneyland, he would definitely approve! :sohappy:

Agreed in full. The lighting and the pyro work so well together. Surprised they didn't use lasers again.

Walt WOULD be proud. This is exactly what he wanted: Technology not for the sake of tech, but for telling an amazing story.

Hopefully this isnt true but if it is hopfully it can be fixed fast-
Editor's Note 6/8: The disconnected Disneyland marketing folks are now wishing they hadn't focused the Summer Nightastic ads on the new Fantasmic dragon. Originally named Bucky, the replacement been christened Murphy because everything that could go wrong with him has, including a broken neck. It's looking rather unlikely that he'll work as planned for the big Thur media event. Too bad they didn't focus on Dumbo instead. - Al Lutz

Yeti part II?

Seriously, WDI needs to kick their engineers in the butt. Or just hire me. Either way engineering quality will sky rocket.:lookaroun:lol:
