Disneyland Mid America

First of all, it was not an "bubble." It was just a giant building, like a mall with different facades inside.

Second, another site that was looked at by Walt Disney for his EPCOT was above New Orleans and Lake Ponchtatrain. Let's just say, that the corrupt Louisiana politicians ruined it. They wanted to get kick-backs while Florida was offering them.

I would say that Arkansas would be much better than Louisiana. Maybe around the middle or southern part of Arkansas would be best! If you want, I might be able to find some time to start the THEME PARKS on RCT2...I don't do the hotels very well. I MIGHT beable to construct then though. Just depends.

As far as the "bubble" is concerned, if you watch the Disneyland Disney Treasures DVD (I believe it's this one, maybe it's the one on Tomorrowland), you can see the part where Walt talks about EPCOT in detail and you can see footage that very few have. And yes, he does talk about having an all-weather dome over the center of EPCOT. You might want to check that DVD out and see the part I'm talking about to clarify it.

Now for the Arkansas idea, I like it but see one problem, it's too close to WDW and I don't think another park in the south is a good idea. People drive from all over to see the park, why make people from the north, NE NW and so on drive all the time, why not have one in the midwest where it's centrally located for everyone? Just my two cents on that one.

WDWScottieBoy, I own the "Tomorrowland" Treasure DVD, and I have watched the EPCOT segment many times, and it was just a giant building.

Wannabe Walt, I live in southern Louisiana, and I have traveled all the way to north Arkansas. After about fifty miles North of I-10 till middle Arkansas (and sometimes north Arkansas), it seems hotter than closer to the gulf.

The gulf cools things down an incredible amount, like Disney World is cooled by both the gulf and ocean.

But, I don't think it is our choice where this theme park is placed. Personally, I still feel that Texas is the best because there is still a lot of cheap land, and there is large population centers that are still growing.

Yeah, I own the Tomorrowland DVD too, and the down town area of Epcot was not under a big bubble, just in a building with sky lights here and there like a mall.

Arkensas would be good location wise, but it is a bit too close to WDW and that will cause it to lose tourism. SpectroMan is right, Texas is probably the best place to go with cheap land and better tourism there. Can anyone think of a good name for the resort? I don't want it to be "Disneyland Texas" because I just don't like the sound of the name. Any thoughts?

My thoughts....

How about Mexico? The only problem is heat and such a poor standard of living. Otherwise Mexico might actually work. OOO! BRAZIL HOW ABOUT BRAZIL?????? We could put it about 30 miles from the Coastline. I think I might start on the RCT2 model tonight.

PS- Imagineer Boy, can you please post exact ride, restaurant, and show lists as we have them set right now? That would help bunches! Thanks

I guess Texas would work financially-wise, but I still think something in the midwest is the best idea. If it must be in Texas, I would like Disney to be strict on their hiring process and not allow illegal immigrants to work there since it seems like there are a lot in the US right now. With it being close to Mexico, I can see a lot more of the illegal immigrants crossing the boarder just to work there. I'm not trying to be mean or racist or anything along those lines, just saying they would have to be strict and have everyone present their papers. Let us know what happens on the next step!

If I'm not mistaken, WDW is near Cuba. Aren't there many illegal immigrants in Florida? Not to mention, California is on the border. Disneyland probably gets the same thing.

I have figured out the Tomorrowland Restraunt:

Klait Schlomaes's Zweedurn

Virgan for "Inspiration," this popular chef from the Virgo Sector A-12 turns his attention to Earth food. In this amazing eatery, patrons will experience the fine cullinary art of the Virgo Sector mixed with ethnic foods from across the world. Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and Virgan foods make Klait Schlomaes's Zweedurn an experience out of this world.

Everything seems like it is going great!

For the Tomorrowland Restraunt, it will be called just Zweedurn and in the map it will just be that, but on the signs we will have the name of the chef smaller than the restraunt name.

Cool! :sohappy:

Anyway, before I go into detailed descrpitions, I'd like to list my ideas for other areas of the resort.

Parking Lot: For those of you who have the "Tomorrowland" DVD, the parking lot will use the same layout of Epcot ( the actual city, not the theme park ) with flower petal shape seperate parking areas surrounding a large parking garage in the center. In the middle of the flower pettal shaped parking areas will be a moving walk way that goes strait down the center of the parking areas into the parking garage where a monorail station is located.

The MK monorail station at the left side of the enterance to the MK serves three purposes. One: MK monorail station. Two: Official Disney Mid-America ( or whatever we will call it ) welcome center Three: The Down Town Disney station.

Lake Disney: This is a large man made lake in front of the MK with the Down Town Disney District and hotels hugging its shores.

Down Town Disney: The DTD District is a few steps away to the left of the MK, past Monorail Station and and hugs the shores of Lake Disney. As visitors first enter from the MK walk way, they'll be in the Disney Village Market Place section of DTD where there are casual shops, Rain Forest Cafe', Delis, fountains, relaxing atomosphere and more! Pleasure Coast is this DTD's version of Pleasure Island, but not as big, but still loads of fun for the adults with new years eve count downs with fireworks everynight. Disney City runs paralell with Pleasure Coast that has the energy of the big city with lights plus shops and resturaunts. The Planet Hollywood here is a large geosphere like SSE and guests who go under the resturaunt go into an indoor recreation of night time hollywood ( this part runs parallell to Disney City ). This part of DTD also houses the enterance to the AMC 20 Cine' with stadium seating in every theater! DTD plaza at the end of Disney City and Hollywood is DTD plaza that has all of the entertainment like Cirq Du Soile' and Disney Qwest. Then at the very end is a long walk down a turn of the century board walk with wacky games, shops and resturaunts. To top it all off, there is a trolly like the ones in San Fransisco that actually run on rails and feeds from energy from an overhead wire that goes from the Disney village to DTD plaza.

Hotels: I'm going to make Wannabe Walt Chief of all hotels cuz he's very talented at making hotels. Here are a few concepts that I thought of:

Disneyland Hotel
Alpine Lodge
Some sort of Hollywood and movies themed hotel
and more to come!

Great ideas!

I don't like the name "Lake Disney"- let's name it something more creative and original, a la Seven Seas Lagoon.

I have a favor to ask: Since Cirque cannot design our show, can I be director of the Cirque Show? I've got some great ideas.

DTD sounds gigantic. You could almost build another theme park with all of that land.

Sure, you can be in charge of the Cirq Du Soile' show. You seem to have great ideas for these sort of things. What do you have in mind?

You're right, Lake Disney is pretty dumb. I'm not very good at naming things. I'll try to think of something else. Does anyone have any good ideas for the name of the resort?

For the lake, how about Nueva Vista Lagoon? (Get it? Like Buena, but it's new.) Or, something that gives reference Disneyland and Disney World, but builds on them.

I have the idea for the CDS show, but I'm withholding info. till I have the show really planned.
