Disney(World) vs. Disney(land)?

I started reading this forum back when Lee leaked the plans for the Snow White coaster, and back then, I thought that JT was the best troll I'd ever seen. Surely, NOBODY could be obtuse as he being was in that thread, and I thought it was hilarious that everybody kept falling for it. Well, now, after 2(?) years, I've concluded that yes, JT is that obtuse. A part of me kind of died when i realized that he wasn't trolling and was 100% serious about all the drivel he posts.

Funny, you could say the same thing about 74...

I do ... it's hysterical ... been working, but checking in on this ... and all I can say is I am ROTFLMFAO as the kids would say (or likely would have about 8 years ago).

I ever write my book on Mental Health and The Disney Fan Community: How Pixie Dust Poisons The Mind, Frank is getting a whole chapter devoted to him. Maybe more ...

I'm glad you encouraged me to come check this thread out, because I had some good laughs reading 20k's posts and the responses thereto. (Although I'm pretty sure that's not why you encouraged me to read the thread, but still...)

I really don't know what to say at this part. The initial post here and some of the conversation is thoughtful, provoking, and surprisingly optimistic for the long term.

What has followed has demonstrated yet again how one *single* individual manages to throw a wrench in just about every interesting thread with the same inane babble making it almost intolerable to open a thread in these forums. This same individual who has 130-some likes and hundreds of posts since the new like system was instituted (to his credit, I guess Jimmy Thick has been busy clicking! ;)). That, alone, is pretty telling.

People can say "don't feed the troll," "use 'Ignore'," and that sort of thing all they like, but it's easier said than done...

Nope, I had a pretty serious surgery and have missed a lot of time around here of late. I think jt is creating his own fanbase with devoted followers, and deservingly so.

What, FRANKly, bothers me is he is very good at derailing discussions. This is the best, most important one going on ANY Disney fan forum this week -- and not because I started it, but because what is being said. So, why should one person be allowed to turn it into a sideshow. I hope he doesn't have any incriminating photos!;)

My point exactly.

Diverging opinions are fine. They make conversations more interesting.

But this guy blows up discussions with dozens of posts that are filled with outlandish speculation masquerading as certain fact.

So why's he here?

He doesn't visit the Disney theme parks and seems primarily to champion the Orlando management team.

So he's on a discussion board about Disney theme parks because...??

No - its dead simple. Click Click Click.. and all signs of them disappear. The ignore feature is much more elegant on this platform then the old vbulletin. No quoted text.. no threads.. no posts.

And there are even 'show ignored content' links for those that just can't help themselves.

While that in itself is simple enough to do, what's difficult is actually getting everybody to do just that.

You can lead a horse to water.. but you can't make them drink. If people want to keep worrying about thread derails, and how good topics are ruined.. by not using it and falling prey.. they have only themselves to blame. Being part of the problem instead of part of the solution.

I don't understand why he's permitted to troll and sidetrack discussions when it is OBVIOUS almost everything he says is an desperate cry for attention.

Who does he have pictures of?

Actually I do not troll. I advance the conversation skillfully and constantly guard against people using this forum for personal vendettas.

All the people going after me though are surely troll-ish.

Now prove me wrong and put this thread back on topic after it was so rudely sidetracked by my detractors.

Thank you.

PS- Don't forget my real identity is HAL2000. I have pictures of everybody. Including you....... unfortunately.
