Disney Playing catch up with Universal... Potter Disney's biggest mistake in 20 years...

I've ridden the King Kong attraction twice in USH and it's the highlight of the studios tour for me. Will the same attraction be added to IOA in the JP area? If so that would be an awesome addition to the park and area. I often thought that Universal should expand on the JP section, add at least one E Ticket JP based attraction to it, and after riding Kong last summer, somehow blend that in to the area as well. If done properly, it could be a home run and then some.

It'll be an explanded version of that. More theming, some animatronics, etc.

NBCUniversal has announced a new attraction in both California and Florida for the next five years. Content may change or they could back out, but it is hardly unfounded rumor to say the building spree will continue.
absolutely
on multiple fronts from many top Comcast execs..... its more than rumor to me

so? you really think they were sitting around at a table one day and said "ya know, our wand is just not cutting it... we really need to make it look like the Harry Potter wand because...well... we need to get on that train" lol
The Disney Channel has been ripping off Potter for years. This is nothing new. Wizards of Waverly Place was Disney trying to capitalize on The Potter phenom.

So that's why they're building a new King Kong ride. What better way to celebrate the anniversary than the return of a classic? Smart move. I wouldn't be surprised if the ride is advertised in that exact fashion.
Have you heard the rumour about a avengers ride for IOA? if true it really is going to a very interesting 5 year's at uni

Nope. I hear about rumors the same time as everyone else when insiders decide to post them. That would be awesome though, I wonder if Universal would be allowed to add new Marvel rides? Can anyone clarify?

I did hear a rumour recently about an Indoor B&M flyer in Marvel Super Hero Island of Universal being pitched....

From another site....

I'll lay out all the info I was given. Universal has pitched to Disney, an Ironman indoor launched B&M flyer. They want it launched so they can build it in a show building with extensive themeing. Uni Creative would like another crack at themeing a big boy coaster. And it would be the first launched flyer.

This would be amazing...and by amazing I mean a direct "competition" between Universal Creative and Imagineering on building an Iron-Man ride....at IOA and at HKDL.

I am down for an Iron Man ride if you can drink it up and ride blitzed on it, that would make it very realistic per the comic book. :)

A Thor ride would be cool as well, lots of possibilities with that. All the realms open as "worlds" to explore. It would also allow the possibilities of a different each time like Star Tours does :) I would prefer a real motion ride though as opposed to a simulated motion ride.

The only way I see Disney agreeing to this is with a new contract and with Disney having the right to use the same marvel rides in other parks so they save on design costs. I can see the two companies reach a fair and reasonable deal but Disney would have to get something out of it and the rights to use the same rides would cost universal nothing since they can't use them elsewhere anyway or maybe some type of splitting the development costs.
