Disney Playing catch up with Universal... Potter Disney's biggest mistake in 20 years...

The only way I see Disney agreeing to this is with a new contract and with Disney having the right to use the same marvel rides in other parks so they save on design costs. I can see the two companies reach a fair and reasonable deal but Disney would have to get something out of it and the rights to use the same rides would cost universal nothing since they can't use them elsewhere anyway or maybe some type of splitting the development costs.

BAHAHAHAHA Nope. Disney would love this because it gives them an excuse not to do anything Marvel in WDW for many years to come. 2. It could potentially boost merch sales which they get a cut of without doing anything. 3. It would bring people to Florida who would probably stop in Disney for a day. 4. Disney wouldn't have to pay for the ride to begin with.

Lastly, why would Disney destroy their own credibility of being innovators by using the ride designs Universal made in their other parks. Kinda makes them look bad.

Disney would not look bad if this were a codesign. Just think of the possibilities because no one doubts these are the 2 best design teams. If they could work together on a ride wow. But Disney has to get something out of it to approve the deal. You know that.

Right, Disney has to approve it, but there are very specific things that Disney can use to reject it, and I am sure Universal will have their ducks in a row. Disney can't just say no because they don't like it.
So universal wants to build it. They don't need Disney approval. So that means if it's not built you are wrong. And if it is built but only with a new contract you will admit I'm right, that Disney needed to approve it and they got something for it.

Disney/Marvel have "reasonable" rights of rejection over the attractions the Uni builds with Marvel. They cannot just reject it because they don't want Uni to do it.

"Whenever Marvel has “reasonable” rights for rejection of approval hereunder, the basic criteria to be used by Marvel may include inconsistency with (i) basic story line, (ii) the powers, (iii) basic personality traits, (iv) physical appearance (including clothing or costume), and/or (v) living habitat or environment relating to such character as portrayed in Marvel’s exploitation of such character in comic books or other products for the particular time period being depicted by MCA."

So we can get an Avengers ride. Would Universal be able to use the actors from the movies like they did with Harry Potter? I would love to see what they could do with it.

I really can't with you. They need MARVEL's approval in the same way that they need JKR/WB's approval for Potter additions or Mrs. Geissel's approval for Seuss additions. There's very little difference. It's all very plainly written into the contract - Marvel is pretty much obligated to approve things as long as Universal fairly represents its characters (more specific language on the previous page). No contract would have to be rewritten. Universal will request Marvel's approval, they will give it (or require a few tweaks), and then it will be built.

Then maybe everyone will shut up about whether or not Universal is serious about keeping Marvel.

EDIT: I think everyone forgets about Storm Force. That ride didn't open with the park - it arrived a couple years later, with Marvel's approval.

Firstly, this won't be co-designed.

And secondly, given Disney's recent output, I'd rather them stay far away from whatever E-Ticket Universal Creative is pushing.
