Disney Playing catch up with Universal... Potter Disney's biggest mistake in 20 years...

After the third lift hill, Big Thunder Mountain is as dull as The Great Movie Ride. Oh and Lilo and Stitch is awesome, but the Stitch attraction at MK is the worst in Orlando. Legend of Jack Sparrow actually is much improved since they tightened the run time.

Ehh... nothing truly educational about the ride - basically a Fantasyland-style dark ride themed to Finding Nemo as a replacement for a ride that provided education about innovations in oceanic/aquatic discovery. Doesn't fit the theme of Epcot. It would be perfect in Pixar Place (another family dark ride for DHS), but I don't know if I'd put it above Living Seas.

The Original Living seas was a very dull movie, do nothing elevators, and a very short dark ride past aquariums. The new Nemo ride and Turtle Talk trump it big time.

Now I know you're not being serious. You nearly had me thinking you were serious then until you dropped that in there.

By throwing out educational value for cartoons!! Hooray - the message of Epcot is being destroyed! The Nemo ride could have attempted to have some educational value - the Mr. Ray idea was perfect. But It's a good thing folks like you are having fun on rides built solely with entertainment/fun in mind... otherwise Epcot might TEACH you something. The horror of learning things when you're on vacation ;)

Great Movie Ride isn't that dull (just needs a little love) for those who actually watch well-made movies and appreciate cinema history. It's also a giant people-eater, so I have no quaims with it in DHS.

Big Thunder Mountain dull? Maybe rough and rickety, but definitely not dull... just went on it a couple of weeks ago and I was screaming like crazy, especially after the third lift hill :p

Random Epcot thoughts:

I liked quite a bit of classic Epcot(World of Motion, Horizons, and Imagination especially). I also enjoy new Epcot(Test Track, Soarin, and Mission Space(even though MS could use an updated film). I never liked the original Living Seas, and enjoy the Nemo update much more. I also think Spaceship Earth has a much better narrative now than it did in the past. I haven't ridden Universe of Energy in over 10 years because a 45 minute attraction is just too long IMHO.

I experienced the American Adventure for the first time only last year, and while it was okay in parts, it is a one and done for me. I also find The Land ride incredibly boring. Sum of all Thrills doesn't make me vomit like Potter, but it is just okay all the same.

I also really enjoy the new version of Imagination, Donald in Epcot, and Norway for its cheesiness(I'm all for a Frozen overlay though). Captain EO needs to go, but Agent P is a ton of fun.

Body Wars was always awful. Annoying actors, gross visuals, give me Star Tours any day.

PS, I don't work for Disney in any way.

You lost me at thinking the new Spaceship Earth narrative was better. From there on, your claims that you enjoy Imagination 3.0 seem intentionally trollish. Or... you just exist within a minority of opinions. Which is also fine, but given your posting history I don't buy it.

As for your denial of working for the Mouse - you didn't fully answer my question. Do you have a close tie to the Mouse in some other way - either via a familial connection, close friend, etc.? Something smells fishy.

I've drawn two conclusions from this post:

1, by degrading American Adventure and Great Movie Ride in such a way, you've proven to me you don't have a very sophisticated taste in theme park attractions. (You're entitled to prefer other attractions, that's an opinion. But to imply AA or GMR isn't some of WDI's best work is nonsense.) Then again, you also implied you disliked Epcot's original lineup, and you're analyzing the sharpness of two family coaster's turns... are you sure you're in the right park? I hear Cedar Fair has a host of well-maintained parks with coasters that might be more your speed.
AKA: Anyone who's opinion differs from mine is a dolt.

This is the funniest bit of sarcasm ever used on the internet.

Those darn people having fun at an amusement park that they paid thousands of dollars to go to on their too small vacation. They're doing it WRONG!!!

In other news, the Hogwarts Express has soft opened for all guests with park-park tickets. No access to Diagon Alley or Gringotts yet.

Good for you, I guess.

Boy, you just really love being contrarian, don't you?

Here's the hard reality. Works of art (films, books, theme park attractions) have a certain objective level of quality that is inarguable. It isn't an exact science, but no one claiming that Sharknado is the best film of all time (or in WDW's case, Stitch's Great Escape is the best attraction of all time) would be taken seriously, because it's so apparently obvious after a few moments of rational argument that this is simply not the case.

That isn't to say that I'm not allowed to like Stitch's Great Escape. I sure am, if I choose to, that's up to me. But I won't claim it's a great attraction - because objectively (and we could get into the nitty gritty elements of why), it isn't. People are permitted guilty pleasures and minority opinions, but they can't disregard objective levels of quality.

First off, it's a theme park. Six Flags and Cedar Fair are amusement parks

Second off, what's wrong with learning a little on vacation? I know ignorance is all Murican, but some educational value in a park built with education in mind wouldn't be awful.

There's 2 parks already that focus solely on fun. Epcot and even AK should strive to add a little edutainment.

Pardon me for thinking Epcot shouldn't be dumbed down
