Disney Playing catch up with Universal... Potter Disney's biggest mistake in 20 years...

How can you be an American who dislikes The American Adventure? That song alone has a way of just getting to you.

I’m an American and not a huge fan of the show. But even not liking it, I can appreciate the scope of the accomplishment and the intent in what they were trying to achieve. I can’t understand anyone saying it’s a bad attraction. Not my cup of tea, but well executed for what it was meant to be. I try to hit it up once every 5 years or so out of respect for that and to see if my opinion has changed since everyone else seems to love it so much.

I've drawn two conclusions from this post:

1, by degrading American Adventure and Great Movie Ride in such a way, you've proven to me you don't have a very sophisticated taste in theme park attractions. (You're entitled to prefer other attractions, that's an opinion. But to imply AA or GMR isn't some of WDI's best work is nonsense.) Then again, you also implied you disliked Epcot's original lineup, and you're analyzing the sharpness of two family coaster's turns... are you sure you're in the right park? I hear Cedar Fair has a host of well-maintained parks with coasters that might be more your speed.

2, by once again avoiding my question about any connection you might have to The Walt Disney Company for the third time, I have to assume you have some sort of connection that is compelling these posts. All it takes is a simple denial, and I won't ask about it again... but because you keep directly quoting my posts while ignoring the (bolded) elephant in the room, you've left me no other conclusion.

Hear it loud and clear, folks, SJN has something to hide.

Random Epcot thoughts:

I liked quite a bit of classic Epcot(World of Motion, Horizons, and Imagination especially). I also enjoy new Epcot(Test Track, Soarin, and Mission Space(even though MS could use an updated film). I never liked the original Living Seas, and enjoy the Nemo update much more. I also think Spaceship Earth has a much better narrative now than it did in the past. I haven't ridden Universe of Energy in over 10 years because a 45 minute attraction is just too long IMHO.

I experienced the American Adventure for the first time only last year, and while it was okay in parts, it is a one and done for me. I also find The Land ride incredibly boring. Sum of all Thrills doesn't make me vomit like Potter, but it is just okay all the same.

I also really enjoy the new version of Imagination, Donald in Epcot, and Norway for its cheesiness(I'm all for a Frozen overlay though). Captain EO needs to go, but Agent P is a ton of fun.

Body Wars was always awful. Annoying actors, gross visuals, give me Star Tours any day.

PS, I don't work for Disney in any way.

Yeah, I should probably reword my original post. His post just struck a chord with me, I shouldn't generalize like that.

Maybe because there were less options before MGM, Animal Kingdom, and 2 Universal parks came to town.

If so, then TDO is truly incompetent... really MK and Epcot are the two parks most people strive to visit, especially since they're the only two where you can legtimately spend a full day whether you're booking it from attraction to attraction, or just leisurely enjoying the sights.

DHS and AK are more hurt by Epcot, than Epcot is by them.

USF was around for 1990-1996 where MK and Epcot both had peak attendance. Same with MGM Studios. IOA was unfortunately poorly marketed and thus received with collective indifference, so it had as much impact as SeaWorld or Busch Gardens initially. AK is a half-day park, so is DHS. No reason to think either have that much impact on Epcot (a full day park)

But don't ya see?!? The kiddie coaster with two superb sharp turns can't be surpassed by a show or a dark ride. NEVER!!

SDMT, The Seas With Nemo and Friends, Stitch's Great Escape, The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow, Dinorama, TSMM - top-notch attractions in the view of @SJN1279 ;)

SDMT is a nice D-ticket, but Bald Mountain or Fire Mountain would have been more impressive and actually had some major adult appeal as far as a new terrain coaster goes.

I really wonder if he's a troll who's meant to market Disney's newer stuff... seriously, I do. And if you compare the effort/scope of past MK/Epcot attractions and compare their latest additions, it's no contest. Test Track might count since it's a pretty fun thrill ride with actual sets (haven't done the TRON overlay yet) - wish they could have found a way to keep World of Motion while still adding Test Track.

I like the Nemo ride:happy:

I enjoyed the coaster section in the Dwarves way more than I ever did Thunder Mountain. The Dwarves coaster has two moments of ejector airtime, try finding that on BTM. Also the hairpin turns are just a bit tighter on Dwarves than BTM. The Animatronics put SDMT over the top for me as well.

American Adventure and the Great Movie Ride? They are no where near Disney's elite level attractions, and I dare say they have put quite a few WDW guests to sleep over the years.

It's amazing what hoops the human brain jumps through when it is determined to justify a firm belief that is inherently illogical or fallacious. All of your posts demonstrate a near textbook case of confirmation bias. You start with a conclusion and then you fish around for whatever little bits of information you can find to support your conclusion. It should work the other way around.

Ehh... nothing truly educational about the ride - basically a Fantasyland-style dark ride themed to Finding Nemo as a replacement for a ride that provided education about innovations in oceanic/aquatic discovery. Doesn't fit the theme of Epcot. It would be perfect in Pixar Place (another family dark ride for DHS), but I don't know if I'd put it above Living Seas.

I think its cool to see the movie's fish in the tank. No, certainly not educational, and a hard-to-understand storyline, but it is cool IMO. A better idea would just be to have the characters be giving you a tour of the ocean, making it fun and educational.

I think it would be a little weird in DHS because a jumbo fish tank doesn't really belong i think...

I'd say The Middle was more used to push MyMagic+ and MDX. Just like the Christmas Parade. You could have had a drinking game this past Christmas to the amount of times they said MyMagic+, MyDisneyExperience, FastPass+ etc. during the parade.
I played drinking games on Christmas. Just to Cards Against Humanity, and not Disney.

I would be fine with that... but right now, it's clearly there just to give little kids something to do in Future World. Honestly, Epcot in general just seems kinda sad - with all of the expansion pads going unused, Energy and Imagination desperately needing revamps, Spaceship Earth needing a finale, and Wonders of Life being used for conferences... just sad to see all of the untapped potential in the park.

And first on the priority list is Frozen at Maelstrom..
