This one's my favorite :) I want to print it out and put it in my classroom this fall!

As a local to Disneyland I think you could appreciate this one. No hard feelings ;)View attachment 57916

Haha very funny.:)

On a serious note, it's just the right size, as it fits the size scope of Disneyland as a whole. Any taller and not only would it disrupt Main Street and the park as a whole, but it wouldn't look right sitting next to Matterhorn, which is supposed to be a mountain (what kind of mountain is dwarfed by a castle?). The castle is not supposed to be seen from another land anyway, unless you're on a ride. Wouldn't trade our castle for any of the others.

I agree, Sleeping Beauty Castle does seem right at home where it is and I'll be seeing it for myself for the first time pretty soon. I recently booked the plane tickets with some family and in February I'm going to Disneyland :D

That's great. Hopefully you'll be able to catch the 60th Anniversary offerings.

I only caught a few minutes of it but it seemed very subdued and professional, if Disney (of today) made it it would be going out of its way to let you know how awesome and "extreme" it is. But WDW specials of the past were amazing.

The special was well done. It focused almost entirely on the creation of Diagon Alley and did not try to promote that overall Universal resort.

I'll let Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, American Adventure, Spaceship Earth, Kilimanjaro Safari, Tower of Terror and Great Movie Ride know that they've got competition from a two minute junior coaster.

The animatronics with the current layout were also intended to be low-tech until relatively late in the game by all accounts. There's no telling if they wouldn't have decided to upgrade the AA's if they had stuck with the original layout.

But yeah, the Mine Train's duration of, what, thirty seconds of actual coaster time is pretty dismal, acceptable only by kid-oriented starter coasters like Barnstormer, not the centerpiece of a hugely-touted expansion. You know what I think is an appropriate coaster length for a ride of this scale and importance? Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. But they don't build rides quite like that anymore...
.

I enjoyed the coaster section in the Dwarves way more than I ever did Thunder Mountain. The Dwarves coaster has two moments of ejector airtime, try finding that on BTM. Also the hairpin turns are just a bit tighter on Dwarves than BTM. The Animatronics put SDMT over the top for me as well.

American Adventure and the Great Movie Ride? They are no where near Disney's elite level attractions, and I dare say they have put quite a few WDW guests to sleep over the years.

Disney used The Middle to push the NFL expansion.

NBC used an entirely dedicated 60 minute special.

Needless to say, NBC is putting a beating on Disney in the past few weeks.

I'd say The Middle was more used to push MyMagic+ and MDX. Just like the Christmas Parade. You could have had a drinking game this past Christmas to the amount of times they said MyMagic+, MyDisneyExperience, FastPass+ etc. during the parade.

I've drawn two conclusions from this post:

1, by degrading American Adventure and Great Movie Ride in such a way, you've proven to me you don't have a very sophisticated taste in theme park attractions. (You're entitled to prefer other attractions, that's an opinion. But to imply AA or GMR isn't some of WDI's best work is nonsense.) Then again, you also implied you disliked Epcot's original lineup, and you're analyzing the sharpness of two family coaster's turns... are you sure you're in the right park? I hear Cedar Fair has a host of well-maintained parks with coasters that might be more your speed.

2, by once again avoiding my question about any connection you might have to The Walt Disney Company for the third time, I have to assume you have some sort of connection that is compelling these posts. All it takes is a simple denial, and I won't ask about it again... but because you keep directly quoting my posts while ignoring the (bolded) elephant in the room, you've left me no other conclusion.

Hear it loud and clear, folks, SJN has something to hide.

Maybe because there were less options before MGM, Animal Kingdom, and 2 Universal parks came to town.
Disney-MGM Studios and Universal Studios Florida were open.

Not a surprising comment, but it sure speaks volumes.
