Meanwhile you can go to Universal for Grinchfest and it's included with your park admission.
I love this "Universal's so much better and guest centric" narrative. Their customer service sucks, and their team members couldn't care less about their jobs or the guests. Mind you HHN happens almost every night from September - October goes for $130+ a ticket, and you basically NEED to pay $150+ for an Express pass if you intend to do everything in one night.

EDIT:
And before I get the "well if you hate Universal so much, don't go" replies. I don't hate Universal, I had an annual pass for several years, and also bought the HHN Ultimate Pass last year and went over 30 times. I don't enjoy their customer service, their crowd management for events like HHN is very poor, lines for concessions and more are extremely long. Most of their simulator attractions are a snooze-fest for me, and just make me dizzy. I really only go to Universal for Butterbeer, Hagrids, Velocicoaster, Spider-Man, Escape from Gringotts, and the Hogwarts Express, and of course to play around with my interactive wand in Hogsmeade & Diagon Alley.

My biggest gripe is their team members, with Disney their are a few sour apples in the bunch of CMs, but with Universal their are only a few good apples in the bunch.

Probably two days after Halloween, to give them time to decorate for Xmas. Though Halloween parties obnoxiously start in AUGUST, so who knows?
I'm glad they start in August or I would never have been able to take my family who all work in schools.

Hollywood Studios has the PERFECT atmosphere for a classic evening Christmas parade like towns have done for decades. I hope they have the budget for one. It could be really special.s le
I don't think it'll be a new parade... (if there is one) IMO. Maybe a new float or two, but there's no way they've been developing and building a new parade for DHS (for this event) and nothing was leaked about it before.

I also LOVE DHS Holiday Decor package.

As I probably will attend this event, I'm very curious to see what kind of entertainment they will offer. A Firework show alone won't be enough to compete with MVMCP.
Its not meant to be a alternative to MVMCP & likely will be more expensive than MVMCP based on there after hours pricing model. I'm guessing it will be like villain's after hours but Christmas themed with less entertainment, one of which used to be included in a standard park ticket. Hoping that they actually put effort into upping the pyro in the show for the premium cost.

We don't know that this will follow the After Hours pricing model, while it is possible. I just personally think it will be hard no matter what, as this event will be competing with MVMCP either way. Yes MVMCP typically sells out, so this is widening the reach for people who'd like to attend a Christmas "special event", I just don't see how most will justify spending MORE on this event if there's less entertainment and such.

I don't get it either. Universal is fine and has a place but it seems to get away with the same stuff people complain about Disney. Pricing is out of control and even more so if you want express pass but can't get a night in a deluxe resort. It is also a nonstop IP fest. The food is terrible. HHN has turned into a mobbed, overcrowded, expensive mess that they close one of their parks early to run. They've built some truly horrendous and downright embarrassing rides in recent memory. Their team members aren't anything to write home about either. Not terrible but I have never seen them go out of their way to make someone’s day the way I have seen at Disney. Who knows, maybe that happens all the time and I just was never there to see it but you don't hear about it very often.

I'll give them credit for what they have done well but in my mind that doesn't erase all the rest of the issues. Hagrid's is great. The Mummy is one of my favorite rides. Spiderman is awesome. Popeye and Bluto’s bilge-rat barges is pretty high up there as well. The rest, eh (I haven't been to do Velocicoaster yet). Is someone really going to argue with a straight face that the Kong ride is any good? How about the entirety of US? That park is one of the worst in Florida currently. Sure, they have EU on the way but I have my doubts about that as well given the ride lineup and clones of already disappointing rides.

Nothing wrong with people liking Universal, I do, but at least be honest about who and what they are.

I am just tired of everyone nickel and diming everything since "recovering" from the pandemic. I have to pay extra for everthing that was part of normal admission not very long ago. The experience hasn't changed, it just costs a lot more with, likely, a larger crowd.

I'll admit that if I ever go to UOR, it'll just be for the Harry Potter stuff and/or Volcano Bay (and maybe Epic Universe if it's any good) and nothing more.
I can also safely say the 1990s and early 2000s were a better time for Universal.
