In other news Six Flags just released their quarterly report…22% drop in attendance…stock is down almost 13% in pre market trading…
Yeah…not surprising and yet it doesn’t make all that much sense?

Maybe the “regional travel” predictions for the last couple of years cause some backlash?

Or the lords have just priced everyone into oblivion?

Who knows

Yeah, why travel an hour to see peeling paint and non working effects when you can fly to Florida?

I’ve seen some sleep on the beach nightly while on vacation in Waikiki. Actually it was the homeless taking advantage of the cool trade winds and free lodging.

It's interesting, I've been going to the same place at the Jersey shore for over 20 years, the price has tripled plus you have to pay to get on the beach (beach tag). Yet no one says the beach is only for the "rich" 🤣
A little tongue in cheek

I am wondering if the park pass reservation had (another) positive side effect for Disney?

Did the PPR create an "artificial demand" of sorts?

Before PPR anyone could visit any park on any day. If you saw something you wanted to buy, you said, "I can grab that on my next visit."

Now you must hunt for the park you want to visit and jump on a PPR when you get the day and park you want.

"I could only get the Magic Kingdom for this day so I must make the most of it! Oh look at that! I gotta get that now, I do not know when I will be here again"

And that might be a good thing, if Disney prices are really out if control (and remember people here have been predicting Disney's comeuppance for at least 10 years) then a correction is due and they will have to offer more to win back customers
But first they must lose their customers. It's not happening.

lol at one point in my life I dreamed of buying a beach house at the shore.
My mother-in-law had a wonderful house in Ocean City with rooms and beds for everyone, then she decided to sell it and buy a condo for twice the price because she "had to be on the boardwalk." It's 1/3 the size, nobody fits, and I don't think she's set foot on the boardwalk in a decade.
