20 bucks to park in a lot at the boardwalk or 2.00/hour at the meters, 10.00 for a beach pass…at LEAST a buck per chance on a wheel, but MAN, that pizza, cheese steaks and sausage sandwiches…MMMM
I may do the same…lol at one point in my life I dreamed of buying a beach house at the shore. So not happening now, especially since I didn't win the 1 Billion.
Heading down south
Paid “public” beaches always annoy me and always will20 bucks to park in a lot at the boardwalk or 2.00/hour at the meters, 10.00 for a beach pass…at LEAST a buck per chance on a wheel, but MAN, that pizza, cheese steaks and sausage sandwiches…MMMM
lol…that’s so “jersey”My mother-in-law had a wonderful house in Ocean City with rooms and beds for everyone, then she decided to sell it and buy a condo for twice the price because she "had to be on the boardwalk." It's 1/3 the size, nobody fits, and I don't think she's set foot on the boardwalk in a decade.
I'm... confused
I could've swore they said that park capacity would never be how it was pre-pandemic but if the park attendance numbers have already reached 2019 levels and it's august, how does that work out?
That's the opposite of what happened. You know how Disney does things. Their "capacity" ceiling keeps getting raised as soon as they hit that capacity line.
"Capacity is set at 50,000 and 50,000 have scheduled the park? Well, raise the capacity to 75,000. Problem solved. Oh, we just hit 75,000? Well raise it to 100,000 now."
Of course…but they laid a cover story on that during Covid. True at that time..but quietly abandoned. What happened is they have capitalized on “revenge Travel” at much higher prices…groomed the customers. Myself included. You know how Disney does things. Ok…but that doesn’t really change anything. They’re not doing reservations to staff…they’re driving people where they know they’ll bite to maximize overhead. That's the opposite of what happened.
(Fake numbers to illustrate the point)
Capacity was 75,000 but only 50,000 people showed up, on average. They lowered capacity to 60,000 and 50,000 people still show up, on avarage.
Capacity was lowered but attendance wasn't forced downward.
Or wants one, frankly. When I first started going there wasn't a dining plan, so no not everyone expects there to be one
Much better without. I hope they don’t let people screw everyone with that againOr wants one, frankly.
Not that i believe Chapek or Not but i believe he said.... park boom was far more resilient than from pent up demand.... take it for what its worth and how they came to that conclusionOf course…but they laid a cover story on that during Covid. It’s brilliant business/strategy…they excel at it. But not “good” for any customers. Nobody is better off now. It is what it is
It was a example. Maybe not a great one but it still proves the point that Disney has gone up more as a vacation destination then I would imagine 98 % of the places in the usa and everywhere.I don’t know, 4-6 K for an average week rental at the Jersey shore is nothing to sneeze at…and that’s not the Swan & Dolphin…maybe a little better than Motel 6.
If there's a chance at additional revenue/profit margin from consumers not taking full advantage of the DDP system (and let's be honest, most don't), you can almost guarantee they'll bring it back at some point. They'll dumb the menus down again, raise prices, and repeat the previous cycle.Much better without. I hope they don’t let people screw everyone with that again
Im with you. I cant get enough of those things.I'll sleep under the boardwalk for free but I might spend 4-6K on Curly's French fries.
Can’t get fries like those in WDW…Im with you. I cant get enough of those things.
Probably for the best. I'm not sure I could eat a half-gallon of crinkle fries in the Orlando heat, but dammit I'd be willing to try. Can’t get fries like those in WDW…

Can Disney produce the same quality NJ Shore pizza and cheesesteaks ? Wishful thinking.20 bucks to park in a lot at the boardwalk or 2.00/hour at the meters, 10.00 for a beach pass…at LEAST a buck per chance on a wheel, but MAN, that pizza, cheese steaks and sausage sandwiches…MMMM
Well to be fair, its not like that addition of dining plan could do more damage to the quality of the food.. Restaurant availability? That's another storyView attachment 659514 <-- It is coming.
