Ill say!!!!!!!!! Thanks again Don!!! I am working with a friend of mine on this as she can call from work, I cant call long distance for that length of time. She was on hold for 35 minutes and finally had to go and hang up. She is going to continue trying to get through later today. I Appreciate the listing and I still wonder why Teppanyaki Grill isnt included?? Belle

If the Teppanyaki Grill is the Japanese restaurant in Epcot, then yes, they do accept the card.
It is, it is the one where they stir fry your food on the hibachi grill in front of you. If that is the case, :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: Belle

Hey Belle,

Are dinner packages included?
I am not sure. Anyone out there have any more information?? As of yet I havent gotten through to this office (a little popular perhaps?) so I cant confirm this one way or another. As soon as I get any additional info though I will post it!!! Belle

Rule of thumb - EVERY Disney sit down restuarant accepts it, not food courts.

Unless the hotel does not have a sit down restuarant (value) then the food court accepts it.

Also, DTD doesn't accept and changes periodically.

Kevin, as someone who already does it - I assume it works out for you if you renewed? Is it really 20% drinks and all food?
What are the special events?
And can you tell us any restaurants that aren't on the old list Belle posted that we can use it at?
LOL, sorry to ask so many questions, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of updated info out there about it, probably because it's so small to begin with. I've always known about it, but never paid attention because I wasn't elligible.

Yes it really is 20% on food and drinks, EVEN alcohol, if you are the boozer type.

Any sit down Disney restuarant accepts it where you are served by waiter/waitress(all the hotels & parks). Food courts only accept it if the location does not have a sit down restuarant (value resorts). DTD most do not accept it since they are 3rd party, but sometimes that changes.

This is good for up to 6 people. The price of the card pays more than itself if you went to Victoria & Albert's 1 time.

Plus FREE VALET parking. **Hint** I never park at the TTC when going to the MK :animwink: :animwink: :animwink:

DDE hold special events all throughout the year and they mail you a flyer announcing the upcoming events. 99.999% of the time they are fancy type things going on that run about $125 per plate. Something hosted by the chef of a certain restuarant usually to celebrate any of the big holidays and smaller ones like St Patrick's, Valentines, etc. They tell you what the whole menu is ahead of time. They also have dessert type events for about $50-60. I'd say on average I receive a flyer that announces 2-4 events at a time, 6-7 times per year. I've never gone to one as I didn't want to spend the $$$, but they look really nice.

You don't get 20% off of these events, since these events are only open to DDE members, not the general public, so seating is limited.

Honestly, this is the best $50 you could spend. I'm a local, so the FREE VALET parking pays for itself and then some (at $6 a pop).

Even if you are on vacation for 1 week, and say spent $100 at dinner 2 separate times, that's $20 each time, for a savings of $40. More than likey most people spend alot more than that on 1 trip and make more than 1 visit per year. So it works out well.

This was always my favorite "Disney Deal" since it was never advertised and kinda like a secret for us "locals", but it also saved us a boatload of $$$ since we are at the parks over 20X per year.

P.S. - The only time the DDE card is not valid is on major holidays (Xmas day, Thanksgiving), whichever ones require you to put a deposit with your Priority Seating.

Not to rain on this parade, but when I called and listened to the voice menu prompt, there's no mention of the discount being available to Passholders. In fact the options are:
To make a reservation, press 1
To learn more, press 2
If you'd like to enroll in the DDE, AND HAVE A VALID FLORIDA DRIVER'S LICENSE, press 3.

If you press 2 for more info, the recording still specifies that the deal is only available for Florida residents only.

So even if this deal is available for Passholders, are we sure everyone at Disney that needs to know this, does? I'd hate to wait on hold for an hour only to have someone tell me I'm wrong.

So the answer would be NO. You would not be able to use it for a Candlelight Dinner package (since you pay for those in advance).

Right? :(

No I dont think that is what Kevin meant. On Major holidays, to make a priority seating the restaurants require an actual deposit ( similar to Cinderella's Castle for breakfast) I dont think it is the paying in advance part that would eliminate it, I think it would be eating on Christas Day being excluded just due to the demand. Did I get that right, Kevin?? Belle

I'm not sure if it works with Candelight, since that is a set "special" package you are purchasing. Things like that tend to vary year to year though.

But general rule of thumb is NO

Hopefully, in time, they'll put this program as an add-on to the AP.

I called DDE this morning since I won't be buying the AP until I visit WDW in late July. How do I have a card in hand for my vacation if I have to wait 4-6 weeks?

After I buy the AP at the park, I was told to call DDE to order the DDE card and they would FAX or EMAIL a letter to my hotel or condo or, even, to 'guest relations' of the park of my choice. The letter is as good as the card and is effective upon purchase. (If you go this route, make sure you have a FAX number BEFORE you call to order the DDE card)

I don't understand why the system is so cumbersome, so unlike Disney, but they're doing their very best to make it convenient for us.
The DDE number is 407-566-5858.

I am in the same situation - I will be going to the parks in July and won't be able to buy AP's until I get there. It would be nice for Disney to allow you to order the DDE card at the same time you advance order the AP's.

It's an old message...I called this morning and everyone was up to speed on the changes and was very accommodating. Surprisingly, they were willing to send me the card even though I currently do not hold a valid AP. I'm not buying my AP until late July and I will call at that time to buy the card and have a letter FAXED or emailed to me at the park or my hotel. This will maximize the use of the card.

This is a great deal and kudos to Disney for opening this up to all Annual passholders.
