Dinosaur Rehab?

Indiana Jones is an archaeologist. So I don't think theming is really that big of an issue. personally I think the OP's idea sounds a little too close to the Jurassic Park movies.
And aren't the space mountain tracks flipped (i.e. left turn becomes right turn, right becomes left). Although to me this makes them different cos it feels quite different. Not enough to have a preference though. I'm happy with the shorter line.

The last several times I've went on it, nothing was broken, so I have no idea why everyone is talking about it having problems...

As for the Indy idea, I'd rather see my boat ride idea happen at DHS...

So, the lasers in the time tunnels were on? The doors at the end of the tunnel were closed and opened at the last minute? The compsognathus actually jumped over the rover like they are suppose to? The pterodactyl actually swooped?

All of those are effects I haven't seen working since the attraction was called CTX and that is just off the top of my head.

The doors were working. The rest of those effects it sounds like were removed after the change from CTX to Dinosaur. Anyone know more? Martin?

First of all Dinoland is set in modern day, Indy's adventures took place in the 1930s-1950s. Second what does space mountain have to do with this?

No, they weren't removed, they just aren't working. Trust me, we have very deep discussions on them in the past.

BTW, it is great to hear about the doors. :sohappy: :sohappy:

Hun, how does Indy fit in with the story of Dinoland USA? Dinoland is a clash of the fun, go happy Chester and Hester's with the Snobby, selfish Dino Institute. Both of which give a ride back into the age of the Dinosaurs, but in two completely different contexts. I actually like Dinoland and Dinosaur how it is. Indy doesn't belong, this is similar to your complaint about Its a Small World and your wishing for Mysterious Isle in MK.

:sohappy: Well said.

First off let me just say that I expect members here not to believe my post but I actually found out some things on this topic just last week and that's why the thread jumped out at me.

Dinosaur and Indy in DL are not the same layout. They are very close but not exactly the same. Each were designed with the story first, not the track layout first.

In regards to broken effects, they all can work. Maintenance just decides to not keep working on some effects that are prone to break down all the time (this is true for most attractions). They would rather spend their time and budget on keeping the crucial effects and the ride itself operating. I too was bothered by the missing effects until I had the chance to simply ask a the maintenance team myself. They informed me that while everything is still in it's place they simply have priorities to be met and unfortunately some effects will continue to be off.

Also, sad but true, when I asked about the Yeti I was told that the hydrolic lines have been cut off for good. The animatronic was 1/3 of the entire budget for E:E but a shoulder pin on one of the arms kept breaking making it unsafe to run in A mode any longer. :(

There are a number of effects that have not works almost since the park opened such has a thick layer of fog at the end of the time travel tunnels, laser targeting scanners, and a moving cearadactylus (similar to a pterodactyl) that if you did not know were there would probably not miss. However those elements, when present, really add to the show.

IMHO threads like E:E and Splash Mountain effects status are a great idea. I would actually love to see every attraction have a dedicated effects status thread. We know Disney is reading this forum and others like it. Maybe we will get lucky and one of the management types will stumble across it and take some action.

UGH. This entire post makes me sick.:(

It's so UNlike Disney just to shot something off. What happned to show trumping all? :(

That Yeti comment is the most disturbing...I thought they were ordering/fixing a replacement!?:brick:

I don't want to believe, but I do. :brick:

I have heard numerous times about the effects being turned off in CTX. Your post just goes to prove to further my belief that it is true.

If the Yeti bit is true, which I really do believe it, WDW is in worse trouble than I thought.

Kinda reminds you of a famous line from a certain Jack Nicolson movie doesn't it. But yep, true.

They are definitely broken..

Martin will be here shortly, I am sure...:lookaroun:lol:
I won`t go typing it all out again, here`s a sample:

laser grids and pyro in time vortex's
laser portal and end of first vortex and start of second
swooping AA
jumping AAs
laser net
comet heat
event horizon

and to say it again, the CMs I talked to at Dino didn`t even know there were lasers in the attraction. Shows how much they read the SOPs.

It really makes you wonder about management.:brick: How can they not want to have the show running as it was created!? UGH.

Copy/Paste?

Interesting, though...About how long into the rides history were all these effects still working?
