Trip Report Did someone spit on me... or is it raining? May/June 2018

Hello and Welcome!!!

Yes friends, unfortunately (but fortunately) I am back from my 3rd and final trip of 2018... I had to make sure my annual pass went to good use

This trip was amazing and I'm so glad I was able to go back... but it left me wanting MORE!!!! More time, more Disney, more park days... TAKE ME BACK, ALREADY!!!

Since I've been home I've been working 5 days a week at my job, 30 hours a week... not enjoying my summer so far. But hey, a girl has to save for her next Disney adventure!

Daniel (who is not featured in this TR) also has landed himself a big boy job for the summer - which will turn over into an internship in the fall! They've even offered to hold his position for when he graduates next spring! I'm so happy for him and in fact he is working his last shift at his old job right now!

Enough of the boring, real life details... I know you all want to hear about this trip! So on with the show!!

To recap ---

WHO: Myself (Becca, 20) and my mom, Lynn (older than me )
WHEN: May 30th - June 3rd, 2018
WHERE: Port Orleans French Quarter
WHY: A mother-daughter adventure!

Before I start the recent photos... I just found this one from like 2010 (?) so I was like 11-12... and LOL

It was too good not to share!!!

Um that's a copperhead. (extremely venomous)

I knew it... it has the pattern of one, but wasn't quite sure...Some copperheads are darker in color..almost black

Yep. It’s not uncommon to see them hanging around the boardwalk along the RoA. That’s why they have the signs posted.

Tom Sawyer’s Island is a prime habitat too. No telling how many live over there.

I think I will avoid those locations from now on!

Haha, nah you’ll be ok. Tbh, your best chance of seeing a snake is around any of the resort grounds.

Wednesday May 30th - Travel Day!

Our flight out of Buffalo was early. Like ungodly early. The plane left at 5:30am, putting us in Orlando at 7:50am. That meant we had to be up at 3 am Luckily, my mother's husband works 2nd shift so he didn't get home until 2:30 and just drove us to the airport. I had only gotten maybe 3 hours of sleep but I WAS GOING TO DISNEY !!!!! so that didn't matter

My normal travel day attire with my new suitcase that I got for my birthday!! It is seriously HUGE. I packed so much and it weighed only 41 pounds! Room for souvenirs!!

Literally the blurriest picture in the world, but it is timestamped at 3:14am!

We got to the airport and used the SW kiosk to check in and get our boarding passes.

After an empty security line we headed to Tim Hortons to grab food, except it wasn't open until 4 so we had to wait a bit.

My mom got a sesame bagel and a coffee, I got a plain bagel and a frozen hot chocolate. Fun fact - I used to work at Tim Hortons (not the one in the airport) and that's actually where Daniel and I met Fell in love over timbits and double doubles!!

Hi there! You are from Buffalo? Me too!! Which part? My fiancé and I live in Depew, but I am born and raised in Williamsville. I have always stayed at Port Olreans French Quarter since it opened in 1991-1992. My family and I love it there. My fiancé Dave and I will be staying there for our Disneymoon November 18-23rd of this year. I am a Disney freak too!! Oh and who doesn't love Anchor Bar wings? LOL

My bad. I mean snakes in general. I don’t mean to freak people out.

Snakes could be anywhere on TSI, but I think they’d try to stay away from people/foot traffic, so they’ll most likely be in the area north of Fort Langhorn, which is closed off to guests.

There’s no doubt in my mind that there’s snakes on TSI, but I’ve not heard of any guests running into one. You’ll be just fine. Remember, snakes are just as scared of us (if not more) as we are of them.

My apologies @becca_ if it seems like I briefly hijacked your TR. Didn’t mean to.

Lancaster? We are basically neighbors. We live in the Village of Depew. We actually enter Lancaster to get to our house. I was so excited to see your post and I was like "she's from Buffalo!!!" I excitedly showed my fiancé your post lol
Fun fact: When I was 20 (in 2000), I did the college program and worked at Cosmic Ray's as a cashier/greeter. It was the best time of my life. I made lifelong friends from that experience.

Hahah there are a handful of us from Buffalo on here!! I wish I could have done the college program but nursing is just too rigid of a schedule so I couldn't take any time off

I'll never understand why people do standby for this... its really not even that good (in my opinion)

I don’t have a go-to at Cosmic Rays. I get whatever sounds good at the time. My daughter always gets a hot dog there. My son used to get the chili dog but lately his go-to has been a burger! We ate there on our first trip and my daughter decided the hot dogs at Cosmic Ray’s were the best she’d ever eaten,lol! She was 4 on that trip and now she’s 18!

I started feeling really unaccomplished, like we barely got anything done. But it was getting so busy and hot that we really couldn't have done much else.

Had to take these for GJ!

We finally left!

It was like 2:30 when we got out of the park!

And now... we FINALLY got to the pool

While we were there, some lady came up to this older woman (who was her mother or mother in law), and started yelling at her about a post she made on Facebook. Like screaming at her... at the POOL! I felt so bad for her, she was like crying. It was really weird.

We could have stayed at the pool forever, to be honest. But we got out and grabbed some beignets, which now are Mickey shaped so I'm jealous we got the squares lol

They were obviously very delicious

We both showered and maybe napped for just a little bit. We had other plans!

We got to the bus station about 6pm and soon we were headed back out!
