DHS Rumor Confirmation?

If expansion is needed, in my opinion you can get enough space to create a whole new land if you get rid of the Beauty & the Beast theater (look at how much empty space is behind the theater on Google map), and even a lot more if you fill-in part of the canal behind it!

But why take out an attraction to put in an attraction?

That's been the problem in the past, especially when so much land is already available.

The thing is, if removing an attraction opens up a new space behind that attraction than it's conceivably worth it. What may be more logical is to create a long corridor/queue next to the theater and use the area behind it for another attraction. With all that said, The backlot area seems to be the best/most logical area for expansion. That's not to say that the area behind Beauty and the Beat won't be used in the future, it just doesn't seem likely right now, when they're looking to spread the guests out in that park.

Yes, because the handicap spaces at MK are right next to the entrance, am I right?

Right I completely forgot about that.

On a different note,if this actually happened it wouldn't be the first time that Disney used a parking lot to add onto a park, the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland is on the old Eeyore parking lot

Further discrediting this idea, the handicapped parking at the Disneyland was moved a good distance away from Disneyland's main entrance when the Resort expansion took place.

This rumor is so stupid. First off this bus Terminal that you speak of is also where the handicap parking is so putting a roller coaster there would not only be stupid but it would be illegal because I know they wouldn't move the enterance of the park for this so moving the handicap parking back behind the bus terminal would put it too far away by legal terms.

Not correct. ADAAG guidlines state nothing in regards to the actual distance the spaces must be located from an entrance or gate. The code only states that the accessible parking spots be along the shortest route - however the shortest route could be 10 feet, or 2,000 feet from the entrance.

4.6.2 Location. Accessible parking spaces serving a particular building shall be located on the shortest accessible route of travel from adjacent parking to an accessible entrance. In parking facilities that do not serve a particular building, accessible parking shall be located on the shortest accessible route of travel to an accessible pedestrian entrance of the parking facility. In buildings with multiple accessible entrances with adjacent parking, accessible parking spaces shall be dispersed and located closest to the accessible entrances.

Where else would Disney put the bus stations? DHS is already cramped for space at the the moment and putting them elsewhere would be a tight fit.

If this does come to pass I hope Disney finally learns to put another ENTRANCE GATE to the park instead of backing traffic up onto Buena Vista Drive.

Leave my favorite show/theater alone. :fork:

They can`t afford it yet, but the track will be strong enough to take heavier cars in the future.

Wow, I can't believe people have not run with this news. As far as I know we have never heard this before. Great news! Has anyone told Lee? :veryconfu

3 points:

- This is old news that has been discussed since SM went down. That is why no one is running with the news.

- The ride was supposed to reopen with new track and audio and be up to
date with the attraction at other parks. By just doing a halfa$$ refurb and saying "yea in the future we might go back and add audio maybe" is the same crap they pulled with SSE and is unacceptable. It further proves the point they really don't care about making the ride better for fans or guests.

-How is it great news?
